Nah you cant blame the Spurs for what happened. Primo actually looked like he had some potential that was the right fit for the gameplan later on but absolutely no one could've predicted for something crazy like what he did later on.

I agree, Primo pick got me excited because he's had some flashes of potential in his 2nd year. Samanic was the worst as a Spurs fan.

I can argue that even Blake Wesley has a better 2nd year and more flashes of being great(At least defensively).
I feel like most Spurs fans were just craving for a "Future Guy" to put all their hopes on during that time,
so they tend to be overrating our own players.
About the Brooklyn pick and the Boston pick - both are now starters for the best team outside the NBA (Real Madrid)…

Personally would pick Fultz over Zhaire Smith. For draft busts I couldn't care less what the player does for any other team that he played for except for the one that drafted him. Remember the sixers coulda had Lonzo Ball Tatum etc. in that draft which would've fillled HUGE holes for them at the time and now.
76ers had no chance at tatum. boston would not trade down if philly was taking tatum. they could have got lonzo after trading
Okafor and Zaire are bigger bust. KP, Devin Booker, bridges, and SGA were all drafted afterwards

The Thunder have an odd predilection for selecting players with unusual development paths to the NBA. TFerg is one notable example, but they also used a first-rounder on Darius Bazley, who skipped college to do a yearlong "internship" with New Balance; they picked Serge Ibaka when he was a relative unknown playing ball in Spain; Josh Giddey was kind of a sight-unseen player coming over from Australia. I think Sam Presti has a desire to show how much more thorough and clever his organization is as draft evaluators, and while some non-traditional approaches have panned out (the Canadian-Australian-Canadian starting backcourt they have this season seems to work just fine), they also occasionally whiff.
the Bulls WORST PICK really should have been Marquis Teague, dude sucked so bad, we didn’t need a PG, couple picks later was Draymond and we needed a PF to fit Thibs’ style…

For the Utah Jazz, it should be Enes Kanter instead of Dante Exum. He openly admitted after being traded that he hated playing in Utah and that he didn't even bother trying to play to his full potential. The Jazz also instantly became one of the top defensive teams in the league after trading him.
Exum at least put forth effort when he was on the court.
Jabari Parker has been very solid and shown insane ability at the nba level when not seriously injured. One of the what ifs

As a Pistons fan, I was actually offended that you didn't give them more credit for being absolutely horrible at drafting! They belong in the same breath as Charlotte, Phila, and Phoenix. Killian was the worst, but Sekou was the only other one name dropped.

The thing with Royce White was he was too scared to ride on planes. You have to constantly take planes in the NBA and he didn’t want to do that

I honestly think that Hezonja would succeed if given a 2nd chance in the NBA (also he would want that 2nd chance) He has put up some great numbers in the EuroLeague. He is the type of player that's game has jumped leaps and bounds throughout his journey and I feel he just didn't get a fair shake in the NBA at such a young age. I also think he's never gonna attempt to head back to the NBA though.

it amazes me when so called "analysts" critique a draft pick after the fact, i can do the same thing you know. honestly, did anyone have kawhi or klay ranked higher as a prospect than williams back in 2011? was SGA seen as a better prospect than knox back in 2018?
Surely Ntilikina was worse than Knox for New York. Knox could at least shoot threes, Ntilikina couldn’t do much of anything besides the occasional defensive highlight.

primo is not the worst pick the spurs had since 2010. primo at the very least showed signs of what they saw in him picking him in the lottery in 2021. the spurs picked nikola milutinov in the first round of 2015, a guy who would never even step foot in the NBA. sure they were still title contenders having won the year prior and having an upset loss to lob city that same year, but it was a FRP that did nothing at all, would’ve been better off trading. players picked after went on to be pretty valuable players (nance, looney, osman, harrell, josh richardson, pan connaughton, etc etc)
Fultz trade had nothing to do with Maxey. It was for Jonathan Simmons and 2 second rounders.

You did Royce white dirty. He was going through loads of mental health issues when he was drafted and had a lot of fears about flying and shit, I think if I remember correctly the rockets made him some big promises then did him dirty. But this was a pretty big story, and to just talk about him as a bust without mentioning what contributed to that is shitty

His style also doesn’t fit Kerrs offense and Kerr won’t play him, he’ll be on the bench. LaMelo may start now, but not from 2020-2023.

Gotta disagree about the Kings pick. Bagley is at least a player in the league. He got to a 2nd contract. He'll probably get a couple of minimums/training camp deals after that at the absolute least due to his athleticism & rebounding. But Robinson? An absolute zero that even the Obama era Kings couldn't be bothered with even trying to develop him, that's how obviously not a NBA-level talent he was.
