Great now we cant have batterys onboard
At least we get searched to have D versity
Actually it’s the main reason why batteries have to be in your carry on and not in the hold (all airline policies are stating that). Because it’s easier to isolate the fire and extinguish if it’s in the cabin vs in the hold
As a flight attendant I can seriously tell you passengers dont have brains and common sense… it s all over the world not only usa. People come on board feeling all entitled thinking they are right no matter what. I think airlines should change pax privileges and give crew more authority over passengers.
Yeah, but you know you won’t see your bag again for days probably if you leave it in there. If its a small back pack, why not?
@TheBooban the issue is that no one on the plane knew what the cause was or that the threat was removed. Bottomline people were putting themselves and personal belongings above others' safety. They would've got their items hours later, after clearing the plane, not days.
Remember Turn off laptops especially if it goes in the checked in luggage
laptops and batteries cannot go in checked luggage
Nothing that runs on lithium ion batteries in checked luggage!!
Nothing on lithium battery should be checked in
Just imagine if that laptop was in the hold … the time it would take to identify that there is a fire, the time to evacuate, the time for the fire crew to extinguish it… well potentially the entire hold with all luggage would’ve been on fire
And that’s considering the aircraft on the ground.
If the aircraft is in the air .. this leaves 10 minutes max for the pilots to land because the fire/heat cannot be isolated.
While if you have it with you, in the carry on, the fire/heat can be easily isolated and it would be a smaller fear than having to land in a plane on fire
You’re not supposed to have lithium ion batteries in your checked luggage on or off
She knows the sound of a corroding lithium battery explosion sounds like?
I’m impressed
I guess the noise is a little bit unique
What kind of laptop?
It looks like a Macbook
It was inside the bag, I couldn’t tell if it was a laptop or something else. That larger flat thing next to the bag probably wasn’t the laptop since it was kind of big for a laptop and it didn’t look damaged.
@@Sashazur Clearly the laptop is sitting right next to the bag - it's pretty visibly an apple - they even put paper over the logo.
Rounded edges, matte silver, possibly a newer version - I worry about there M chip lineup
If its Mac, I aint going.
Laptop battery failure rare.
What kind of laptop?
@GloryofGod-u9l most likely either it was an old battery or a defective one. If it has been through both heat and cold, it might have damage that could cause a short.
@@debbiebernhardt5406 wow
It was a macbook . Damn now Apple makes bomb too 😂
doesn't look like a macbook. All laptops are that color, but the edges don't look like a macbook.
@@nellj9495 More like a Match book lol
If the MacBook caught on fire, it would be toasted. Does it look toasted?
With all these devices everywhere, I'm surprised we don't see more battery fires than we do. We should put devices in airtight cases during travel so they have no oxygen to combust.
We did back in 2012
what laptop brand?
What was the maker of the laptop?
...where's my lap top?. ... don't worry it was just the battery smoking.. your laptop is over there in that big bucket of water😮
The passengers suck!
Did they interview the passenger? And what brand was the laptop
All brands can take fire.. it’s the lithium battery that caused the fire, not the brand in itself
No, the police specifically announced that they did not interview the passenger. What kind of question is that?
@@neilkurzman4907 to get more info? What kind of process where they don’t get more info?
How about we just stop taking our laptops on flights
Where do you want to put them ?
Bet you the laptop brand… those companies should be responsible for
Why wasn't the tail evacuation slide deployed?
This was much more chaotic then it seem two dummy from Europe decided to open the plane door ignoring FA directions and threw the bag on the tarmac then held up passengers from exiting
@@homehome7671:23 the cabin crew seems to want to take credit for removing the bag. It seems throwing out was the smart decision. Why do you disagree? And how did they stop everyone else? There was still a slide at the front.
@@TheBooban throwing a bag that could potentially start a fire on the tarmac that sits other planes and lingering jet fuels is safe??? Luckily nothing ignited it. And they was arguing with the FA instead of shutting up and exiting
@@homehome767 yeah, don’t care about fire on the tarmac. Fire in plane much worse. Just depends, check anything out there, no? Throw it out.
Because they didn’t feel it was necessary. And if they did that would’ve put the plane out of service.
I dont even have a computer now or any top with processing powers. I dont even have my own phone now. At least I wont get framed to be providing my laptop to burn for next tech to replace these batteries..
Think of all the battery fires when we go all electric
Everyone wants battery prices to go down, but no one wants to regulate battery safety and recycling. It's not an unsolvable problem.
Instead of banning batteries on planes, ban unsafe batteries.
@@JamanWerSonst My point is Those wanting all Electric are not creating better batteries cleaner batteries
Nor creating a better power grid

How many lithium ion batteries are in your house right now? Laptops, tablets, cell phones, power, tools, earbuds, etc..
I still remember how the San Francisco fire department ran over that child with their stupid truck at the airport and not one fire idiot went to prison for it.
I bet all the passengers that plane 2045 are so pissed and upset thanks that owner whoever it is cost that cheap battery laptop catch on fire and smoke. When I saw the video it’s ridiculous and embarrassing.
It looks like a Mac and the FCC once already banned Mac’s on flights
Right because the batteries used the max are special.
Was this supposed to happen while they were in the air is the real question
🎉🎉
They have a special compartment to put lithium batteries in. It isolates the fire/heat from oxygen and prevents/stops the combustion. That’s why he shouldn’t have to throw the laptop out. The crew would have dealt with it using that box
@@Alex_Coaster_Adventurer hmmm good to know thanks
Yes, it was an evil plot to irritate the eyes and noses of all of the passengers
@@Alex_Coaster_Adventurer
It was also fine sitting out on on the concrete
ALOT OF PASSENGERS CHECK IN THIER LAPTOPS AND HATE WHEN AIRLINE EMPLOYEES MAKE THEM TAKE IT OUT THIER NUMBER ONE RESPONSE IS WHY
You’re not allowed to check lithium ion batteries
Why would firefighters throw a lithium ion battery in water?
As reported today on “Good morning America”Somebody was going to throw the backpack out side of the aircraft and a stewardess stopped him. Why?
Where is he going to throw it? That's dangerous
@@EmperorKagatooutside is less dangerous than inside. Or what do you think?
Missing team from China and troops from Russia
no more LAPTOPS AND BATTERIES, too bad
Your Tesla is just a great big laptop. Go find footage of EV's and the fire department trying to put the fire out and how water works with those lithium batteries.
So are you plugging in your cell phone next to your head when you go to sleep tonight?
It’s a Huawei
I sure hope that Californias great leader make laptop control /bans on planes to protect the citizens of his great state 👍

People say it looks like a MacBook but that isn’t a MacBook at all, it’s a Windows Laptop, likely an ASUS one, based on the color and size and thickness of it. Macs don’t just explode or catch fire or have battery issues. However, Windows computers will because all the parts are separately sourced and not always made by one company, which leads to quality control issues. BE SMART.
BE SMART?
You just HURLED accusations - it's probably a windows (WINDOWS is an OS).

I've been suspect that Tesla is doing the same, it's kinda scary if comapnies start to contract out their PR to private entitities like BlackCube
Literally 100% of any Apple device is sourced from other companies. Apple owns 0 production facilities anywhere in the world.
Any lithium ion battery can catch on fire, especially if it’s damaged. I’m not sure why people are so focused on the brand like that. Makes a difference.
