This process will work for most V Drive boats and even some inboard ski boats. Comment if you have any tips and tricks for me! This took about 45 mins. and cost me $60. Thanks for watching.

The single most helpful video I have found yet on oil changes for these boats. Thanks for going the extra mile showing the suction method for those of us stuck in a lift over the water!

Thanks for the video! Really helped as this was the first year I decided to service my 03 VLX myself rather than at the dealer

Great video. Every detail is covered. This will help a lot of new boat owners that want to do their own maintenance.

Best Malibu video I found. Well done. Are you going to post something about winterizing your boat? I have 2002 Malibu and live in Canada. Would love to see how you do it

Thanks for the video, we have a very similar boat. I too have the easy drain hose that will make this process very easy.

Really appreciate your help on these videos buddy. I just purchased an 01 Sunsetter VLX. Just switched out the steering cable which didn’t end up being too bad & referenced your video for the Transmission oil & fluid. Going to change the oil now for the motor. Your videos have been great. Going to probably pursuer a few of your other recommendations as well.

Great video. Can you do a step by step winterization video as well? That would be very helpful.

Good video but don't forget to mention that the angle of the boat on the trailer can alter your dip stick reading when refilling. Wouldnt want somebody to overfill based on a simple mistake.

Re the comment at bottom about some dipstick tubes don't go to the bottom of the oil pan, I just bought an 08 VTX Wakesetter with the 340 Monsoon and the local dealer told me on my engine the dipstick tube does

I pre fill the oil filler when I can. Just that much less time the engine runs without oil. For those that don’t have the “easy drain”, those vacuum oil devices are great, much better than the pump kind. For any to work well the oil should be warm to hot unless you have hours instead of minutes to waste. Some dipstick tubes on boats go to the bottom of the pan so you don’t need to tube into it, just adapt to the top. You’re manual should tell you.

How long does the process take with the pump?

Does anyone know what the short version of Mobil 1 302 is?

Super. I think you just saved me the $250 dockside fee and $350 service. Where should I send your share of the savings? :-)
