- DI-Why? This is the question I’ve been answering over and over on this DIY pendulum squat set up. So many people don’t understand the value of variety in the gym. Am I crazy? Should squats be the only exercise we ever do on leg day?

if you lower the fulcrum (the pin where you attach the hennies) you should have a most pendulum-like resistance profile.

Honestly dude idk what that guy is complaining about, the pendulum setup looks wicked cool.
I think it’s pretty sweet. Not everyone loves the idea but it’s probably the best alternative to having a full pendulum squat machine in your home gym.

This could be a stupid question.😅
Gravity acts straight down, so while doing a regular squat, you get resistance on the way back up because of gravity acting straight down.
However in your setup, you are pushing the weight in a direction not in line with the direction of gravity.
So my question is does your setup actually work? Does it provide the same stimulus/resistance that an actual machine would?

Rather than henny attachment, can I use rope (or do you need that elasticity)

Are the pendulum squats hard to set up and do u think the set up put pressure on spine?? I have two buldging disk in lower back and i I really been thinking on buying the squat max md
