Thank you very much for this video. I was struggling with a project until I found your video. I thought I would need helium to weld my aluminum but I couldn't find anyone who would sell it to me. I used these techniques and was able to finally get decent welds on aluminum with my small machine without helium. Thank you!!

EXCELLENT video ESPECIALLY the pre and post heating .

Using a 50/50 argon/helium mix will help with heat also.

Very good. If one reads the max thickness the welder manufacturer states for their machine, that’s for a single pass.

Can you do a tutorial on tig welding a piece of 1” aluminum plate into a slot on a piece of 2” aluminum plate
Plates making perpendicular contact (t shape)
I have a project where every last weld is on 1” thick or more metal that slots together through 1” deep slots

    Great stuff! Keep it coming!
Wish you explained at the start of youre video that you were not only showing a technique on welding heavy gauge aluminium but you were using two different types of filler rod.. 4043 and 5356 on opposite sides! Like i said, great content 👌 and im a 18 year veteran in the welding and fabrication community! From the uk🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 cheers brother

Some small 200 amp machines with left Tig does not have AC/DC balance why?

another great video! I was thinking you were going to switch to DC negative and use helium when you said butt weld but you still got it done.

200AMP is not a big machine but it's certainly not a small machine.
    150amp max is a small machine. ;)

With your welder being and inverter, are you running it on a 110 std outlet or do you have it in and actual 240 outlet?

110 outlet with 12 gauge wire on a 20 amp breaker

@amcustomfab Awesome thank you. So I think I see what the issue is that I'm running into. I need a bigger tungsten and to heat the part up more then.

@@amcustomfab entire voice-over is way quieter than the live audio. starting at 9:57 volume decreases until I cant hear it at all about 8 seconds later.
