This story was based on the life of Tom Horn, former Army scout, marshal, "regulator" & hired killer in the range wars and hanged in 1903 for the murder of a ranchers 14 yr old son. Chuck Conner's character even had the initials T.H. (Thorpe Henderon)!

This episode sure looks familiar as far as plot is concerned. This reminds me of the movie about Tom Horn starring Steve McQueen as Tom Horn. Alot of the plot and story in the movie is taken from this episode. From the killing of a young boy to the way chucks confession is taken and even the hanging mechanism is familiar. Interesting.

That was chilling. My guess is the next time he played someone that evil was in Werewolf, the late '80s FOX horror series that he got fired (or quit, depending on who you ask) because he wanted way too much money after filming the first three episodes. His departure from that show was unfortunate for him but especially for the show.
