Considering the 50 Shades trilogy was fanfic of twilight (and EL James is ironically fierce going after anyone who writes 50 Shades fanfic), it's not shocking there are tons of toxic similarities

The best second is Aquamarine, Sky High one of the best-overlooked teen movies, with honorable mentions Bring It On, Center Stage, Coyote Ugly, Here On Earth, The Sisterhood Of The Traveling Pants, Blue Crush, etc.
Wild Child was my entire childhood, I could recite the script verbitum. Also, it served as the late, great Natasha Richardson's Swan Song.
Mean Girls, Sky High, The Spider Man trilogy, and Superbad were fire. The 2000s were the last decade to have teen movies that made an impact without social media or streaming. Yes, teen movies are still being made, they just don't feel the same.

I grew up watching A Cinderella Story, The Princess Diaries, Sky High, High School Musical, Mean Girls, Aguamarine, The Sisterhood of the Travelling Pants, Bend It Like Beckham, Shes The Man, Freaky Friday, Superbad and The Lizzie McGuire Movie ♥️♥️ They are all still pretty much my favourite movies today 😊👍
It's funny how Cam Gigandet went from evil vampire in Twilight to overage dork in Easy A.
Sky high is so underrated and no one talks about it needs more appreciation im glad that there are doing a sequel cuz ppl really need to talk about it more

Most of these movies are movies I grew up watching. Watching teen movies as a kid trying to understand teens before I became one lol.

Confessions of a teenage drama queen portrayed Stan culture spot on. Aquamarine is the star packed guilty pleasure of millennial gen z childhoods.
This might seem weird but for me Chasing Liberty is better with the commentary on. with it on, it makes one of the scenes my favorite scene in film.

A Walk to Remember is my 2nd choice.
I loved most of these. I am still disappointed in A Walk to Remember. Why give us such an epic love story only to off the heroine? I get that most love stories end in tragedy, but we love a good "happily ever after." Them getting married was a nice touch, but it still bothers me that they don't even enjoy a full life together before she died. We watch to see our favorite couples make it, and we were robbed with that one.
