Does anyone else think that this weapon was supposed to be the breaker you get for defeating Artemis instead of Buster Arm? Its main abilities revolves around air movement and lasers. I feel like that was the case, then they decided later on to give it to you immediately cause of how good it was as a starting weapon
I feel like Devs later decided that if the Buster will be available from the beginning, it would overshadow the Overture. Good call, but there was no boss that would fit as an ingredient for the Buster. Even as it is, I've started actively using Overture only after beating the game.
It's almost certain that that was the case. Both of its break ages are based on attacks by Artemis (both the boss and the weapon), Petal Ray is basically the same attack as Nightmare-β's shot. Nico picks up one of Artemis' orbs in the cutscene after you beat her, and from looking at the game files we know that (along the other boss parts you see in cutscenes) was going to be an in-game item or at least have a screen. Gerbera GP-01 even has the expected purple coloration to its lasers, so I'd wager they were meant to be that color originally, and maybe GP-01's was the original moveset before they gave it a parry attack to make it more versatile. Lastly if you look into the in-game files you'll notice it's actually Helter-Skelter that comes second after Overture, and Gerbera is later, after Punchline; the same order shows up in the artbook.

My favourite devil breaker! I nearly only used this during my DMD S ranking run. I love that I can dodge in midair and also love the Petal Ray function, gives you alot of style points and good AOE damage.
I've been ignoring Stamen Ray for so long because of my experiences with it in Devil Hunter before I unlocked DT. I didn't realize you could DT cancel it and still get the big hit, that changes everything. Not to mention it having guard crush properties and stuff.

A great place to use Stamen Ray on Goliath is after the wall of the church crumbles and Goliath is using his vacuum attack. You can stand outside and just beam him in complete safety.
I’d always use petal over stamen, way less commitment, can do almost as much damage with proper setup, can lead for interesting combos, and juggles well
I do want to know if doing a neutral Gerbera GP01 will do the same effect as a neutral Gerbera. I ask because i see the GP01 shoots you straight up and down when not moving

I think it’s specifically because of its great aerial mobility that they gave it to you before fighting Artemis.
When all you have is a Gerbera, everything starts to look like a parry opportunity.

GP01's palm is an upgrade, both air and ground versions can parry, and it has invincible frames like the jocky thrusts.

I tried it, but I didn't notice it hitting more often then not doing it, so as far as I know its a myth.
