In this video, my Cobra engine sucked up a piece of metal and then tried to blow itself up. This was totally not stressful and everything will be just fine. Everything is just fine!

a few things I leanred from Alex watching this,
1.Keep a child like enthusiasm for the cars or things you love.
2.Never give up.
3.Even though you get what you want in life, it doesnt mean it will always be perfect.
4. Small things can lead to big problems.
5. Always think a little out the box.
6. Experience helps, some mechanics would have never thought of, or checked that oilpump bypass valve.
Don't forget to ignore the recording studio, as they will put random stuff on your plate to throw you off balance. Stay focused!

😂😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊
My grandpa would always say "if you didn't have bad luck, you'd have no kinda luck at all!" Man alive Alex, youre swimming in the bad luck 😅 let's hope things turn around!
So true, Born under a bad sign by Cream
Pat Travers does an excellent cover of Born under a Bad Sign.
@@FrankyRedEyesI’ll check it out 👍
Depends on how you look at things, bad luck = good luck content lol
@@beezlebub3955 didn't know I could hear those words with Eric claptons guitar blessing my ears at the same time. I'll have to check that out!
Oil is practically incompressible, so essentially you had an unregulated hydraulic pump. The answer to, "How high will it go?" is: until something breaks. I highly suspect oil filters are specifically engineered to fail before something more expensive fails.
Your video captures the essence of, "real mechanic stuff!" Love it!
Yeah... but when the oil filter fails, everything else fails next moment 🤯
What a good lesson for anyone on persistence and using logic to problem solve. And not a single curse when you smashed your hand! Well done! Take note, this guy is a class act.
I was working on my 1989 Ford Falcon ((Australia) in my garage - then a friend of my housemate came in and started talking about what I was doing
I didn’t like the guy. Then I heard a metallic sound where he was standing and he walked off
I didn’t know at the time but he’d either mistakenly or on purpose knocked a large butterfly screw into my intake manifold
Later that day I went for a drive and the car on a hard turn started making a horrible sound
The butterfly screw had entered the intake port, then into the cylinder onto the piston - it smashed all the valves and cost me 6 weeks wages to fix
I knew he’d caused it so when we were having a party during a huge storm I grabbed his car keys and went outside and opened all of his windows and his sunroof
It rained all night and when he came out in the morning he was shocked - puddles in the floor of his car
Paybacks a bitch 😂
dang was the butterfly screw already loose? If he walked away right after tossin that screw into the intake, i'd say he did it on purpose@@eldraino9933
Probably one of the best episodes of Alex and Max… maybe the best! 😅 Drama, humor, real pro mechanics, oil and cursed engine…
The 4v stroker I just built and dropped on my channel has boundary opg’s and a 8qt pan. On my gauge it stars at 95psi cold then goes down to 25psi when at temp. What you’re seeing there is perfect. After building and working on hundreds of mod engines I’ve never seen a stuck pressure release. Great diagnostic skills buddy 💪.
You're one solid guy, fighting the Ford curse and never giving up. There's a lot to be said for that level of dedication. I hope you get everything you want from your projects.
This is a perfect example of good luck and bad luck when working with cars and how being intelligent, patient, and thinking outside the box can save you. Kudos
That looks like a Ford fuel line retainer clip, probably from the factory fuel lines on the other car that engine was out of. So glad you have it mostly all figured out, many would have given up long ago with all the problems this car has given you.
Saw that as well - looks like the OEM fuel line retainer clip. I see the current setup is AN fittings.
Or headlights clips
"I hate this car".....
we've all been with you on that one, brother.
That was an amazing amount of logic, perseverance, luck, and skill! I am thrilled that it all worked out...and now I need a nap!
Alex is definitely an enthusiastic and positive person. I enjoy watching because of this calm & and positive perspective, especially when dealing with the Murphys law principal.
Alex always maintains a great attitude, and his diagnostic skills are 2nd to none!
I like the videos for many of the great perceptions and the unwillingness to quit the project! You have a great way of bringing the viewer along with you to finalize the repairs. Thank you!! Chad
What a crazy ride on this one. But seriously on a human side that's a great example of patience, passion, and hard work. With that kind of person we build a good world to live ! Good job Alex
What a rollercoaster video, feel for you Alex. Great job diagnosing and fixing the issues.
Another great video man! I feel your pain so much when it comes to fixing one problem then having another completely unrelated problem come up! Perseverance!!
Great video! Sitting on front row of you diagnosing and solving issues! Thank you for this great content!
Alex. Those are some amazing diagnostic skills you have. I am in total awe. Thanks for yet again showing us what logic, reasoning and perseverance does. Just amazing.
I am happy for you Alex , don't give up you're a PRO!
Huge relief ! So happy you sorted it 🤗
Great video, I feel your pain, happy that you solved the issue.
You're patience is admirable Alex, I'd have been seriously contemplating my life choices at that point with the filters blowing out, good thing you had that parts engine to run to
The fact that you know how to repair an internal combustion engine makes you more intelligent than 99% of people who have a College Doctorate degree in front of their name.
This is a man who has no idea what he is talking about.
I don’t believe it’s a pissing competition. Can’t we just agree he’s very smart and teaches us a lot and we appreciate the hard work his team and he himself put in to bring us that at our fingertips?
Somebody got butthurt they went through a bunch of schooling😂😂
I’ll agree but these four valves we build are also a different animal. The stroker I just built is a pain.
Ummmm yea no
That was one of the best videos yet! You really did give us a rollercoaster ride of how it actually really is as an auto mechanic dealing with weird problems like this! I was glued to the screen with this one!
Incredible troubleshooting and problem solving. Really great job Alex.
Idk if its just me, but this channel has had kind of a sad or kinda off vibe the past few months? Maybe its just me!!!! Just sayin hope all is well Alex!!! :)
Nah man it’s just the life of being a mechanic there’s up”s and a whole lot of downs especially when it comes to performance stuff but I hope all is well with Alex too!!🤟🏻
I'm always amazed at the amount of knowledge you have. I have faith that you will get it all Worked out. Great stuff, thanks.
Great work getting all those imposing problems sorted out OK! Thanks for a good comprehensive video, Alex!
Great problem solving man! Loved it
Good to see you stay motivated and get to the bottom of any issues that come up.
You are a great analyst and mechanic. The problems that you were having and the excitement generating new issues were enough to discourage the best of us. Amazing job and I am excited for the next video.
Amazing work Alex!
If you didn't have these challenges the video wouldn't be a tenth as good! You're knowlege, persistence and trouble shooting thought process is admirable. Well done Alex!
Absolutely amazing! I am always so impressed with your incredible mechanical knowledge but even more impressive is your never give up attitude. Love this channel.
Alex, this episode was excellent. You are an amazing technician and that was proven by this video. You faced some crazy stressful challenges and the way you kept your composure and thought through things with a level head is what makes you so good. As always, keep it up and can’t wait for more.
Awesome attitude and you are the man 👏🏾
Alex the patience you have with this cobra is incredible. Your the best i hope you can get it running right and shifting i have faith in you. So happy for you Alex sounds amazing!
Love your channel been watching it awhile. Most other channels I try to watch come off as youtubers and not car guys. You are a true car guy man. I look forward to a new video by you more than any other channel on CZcams.
I just love your channel, watching brings me so much joy , the struggles, the victories, all the same things that we all go through, bless you brother, you show us all how to do it, Thank you!!!

Great job tracking down the problems!
Good job alex and thanks for not giving up like most people would have done. Awsome video!!!!!
Alex, you're a true fighter. What a great lesson in not giving up, or giving in to despair. Or should I say, another great lesson, since this is not the first time. Congrats on your progress with this car.
Brilliant problem solving !!!!
Your diagnostic skills are insane, I learn so much from these videos
Love the troubleshooting. Happy u got it sorted out.
What a roller coaster of emotions ! Great video as usual, congrats Alex !!! Big thumbs up from France
Mad respect mate! You never give up 👍
Alex, we LOVE your content! Thank you for never giving up!
Very interesting episode, some of the car youtubers over there have no idea about fixing cars mechanically and that's is what I like from this channel. Finally the Cobra is Live!
Amazing! Best automotive channel bar none!
This is why I love your videos they are true and not filled with nonsense. I feel your frustration and pain Alex. Keep it up man by far best true car channel.
Love it.
Beeeeennnnnnffffffffffffffffff mate
Alex, your troubleshooting abilities never cease to amaze me. Amazing work on this one! Can't wait to see it cleaned up!
Your vids are so very good and informative and your never say die mantra serves you so well especially when you encounter problems that never come up for anyone else. Keep ‘em coming!!
i totally remember that mustang back in the day and the article. Nostalgia . You're trouble shooting and finding the smallest thing that can be an issues is unmatched. You never really need to bring anyone in unlike some others on youtube which have full teams if they need them. Respect.
No doubt, but let's get some more OJ on the channel
Nice job Alex way to stick with it can't wait to see this car fully sorted out you rock
Wow, what a day. I'm glad you sorted it out in the end. Keep up the good work. Cheers 🍻
Love the feeling of relief and victory at the same time. Im glad it worked out for you
If I ever find myself losing my patience or losing my temper,I will remember this episode and practice self control. That was quite the episode. You are a real pro. Thanks for giving us such a good thing to look forward to and learn from.
Glad to see this thing running finally. Really looking forward to the detail video and payoff of a trouble free drive.
Hi Alex what a roller coaster. So glad that clip didn't destroy your engine and great to see you get some good luck.
Great perseverance Alex!!
Something similar some years ago way out in the country in the middle of the night. The engine started to sound labored and I noticed the oil gauge was way beyond max of 100. A quick shutdown and after a pause a tentative restart and it was back to normal. A cautious long drive home and, the next morning found signs of a previously stuck oil relief valve complete with a tiny bit of grit. Be pleased it happened to you in the workshop and not on a dark country road.
You've got to be one of the best mechanics.! If I was in Chicago I would definitely go to you and ask any questions I would have cuz you're very knowledgeable you're a great guy couldn't say enough great things about you Alex keep up the great videos your phenomenal to watch appreciate all your knowledge and you sharing everything with us......
Good work. Its always a good time with Fomoco.
As stressful as this probably was for you it provided some great viewing content which is what your channel is all about. Excellent work, Sir, keep it coming 👍🏼👍🏼
Hello. You asked in the video where we live. I live 40 km north of Stockholm in Sweden. (You know, the Volvo country)
I'm definitely a car guy on about the same level as you, but you're better at the car's electricity.
I'm a bit like you in some ways. I have the same kind of feeling when something goes well, or badly. I feel when you are happy and everything is working as it should. You are talented and humble and tell stories in a good way.
You are my favorite on youtube right now. 👍👍👍
Love these investigative diagnostic videos. 😃👍
Great outlook on everything Alex that’s why we love ya
Unbelievably competent engineer!! 👍👍👍👍
Che maraviglia! Buon lavorato con la macchina! 👏🏻
Love it! Great video and great ending!
one heck of a roller coaster ride. great content!!
New viewer here. Your persistence is amazing man. Love watching your videos. Giving up is not an option for you. Great stuff! Look forward to your next video!
Love the video and thanks for sharing with us
You have awesome patience in dealing with all the setbacks. I have been a mechanic at a Volvo dealership for 16 years. Every day is like a box of chocolates. You never know what your going to get. It definitely keeps things interesting. I'm a G.M. guy at heart. Great Job Alex. You are the man. I look forward to L.S.C. every Saturday morning.
You can apply that to tech jobs too, I am working for over 30 years in IT, for the last 16+ for a big tech company. We have people calling engineering and you never know what hits you. It keeps you on your toes for sure.
As always great rescue Alex! And the Mercedes sunroof grease 😂😂👍🏻I love it ! Can’t have a video without it !
What a roller-coaster! Glad you worked it all out.
The amount i have learned from this channel is amazing!!!
Bud you are a really smart man. A real car guy… keep up the great videos!!!!!
Way to go, never give up!!
Aww man that was awsome stuff Glad you figured it out in the end.
Well I'm glad you figured it out man. That was crazy wild
Good save on both engine issues 👍🏻👍🏻
Im happy for you i know how long youve been fighting this car so its nice to see it move on the rd under its own power. Congrats my guy🎉
such great videos thanks Alex
Another awesome fix Alex!
Nice job working through this! Most common rear end gear swaps for 4v motors were 4.10 gears, especially for automatic cars. Your tuner could easily confirm.
