Thanks 👍 Yeah, I've had this little vtx for a long time and had to change out the antenna several times not because of crashes but because of mishandling them in transport. lol
I do have couple of other ones and they all work very well :)
I got tired of replacing it and I went to a di-pole antenna that had a uhl and I cut it off and soldered it on.

Great video test. Did you use any WiFi or 2.4 Ghz or 5.8 Ghz vtx signal boosters for this test? Also I've been looking for an VTx AIO camera like the A3, but a field of view or focal length similar to the HS510 camera so I can get a better idea of what I am looking at when I lose FPV from the HS510. The A3 is so wide it's hard to see.

Hi RC Escape,, Enjoy looking at this 'long distance tests' on production drones. Question . On my Holy Stone HS720 I will lose FPV signal at as little as 125 meters,,when flying fairly low,,around 22-30 meters high. Am very new to this. Have you ever experimented with using a wifi repeater stuck on top of your van/car,and plugged into an inverter to increase possibly the wifi FPV distance? Am thinking of giving this a try just to see. Even in the short time have been using drone this distance disappears pretty quickly and is hard to do pan around shots of buildings by eye,i am finding out quick. Thanks again.
remember this has 5g wifi so a wifi repeater for this purpose is hard to find
it is better to use a cheap vtx like I did here.

The AKK cam is much more reliable and can go the distance than the wifi camera that comes with the drone. You will need a separate 5.8ghz monitor or goggles for the fpv.
I’ve had this drone since September 2020; it’s easy to fly and has many features for the price but I wouldn’t buy it again.
1. Screw propellers are a bad idea in anything that vibrates and turns. I’m on my fifth set of props and screws - they seem to fly off easily.
2. The camera sensor has trouble with high contrast; bright areas are washed out.
3. Without multiple gimbals, every little vibration shows up in the video - it’s very shaky.
4. No in-flight camera angle adjustment.
So what would you get for around the same price or maybe a little bit more?

ive been toggling back n forth between this bird and the mjx b20 and i think my minds made up...
this one is more compact and can go the distance if you wanted to...
plus the fact that you can pop an aio on the roof and fly fpv so you can get that perfect shot is epic...
the 50 or 200mw setting on the aio dosent mess with the gps module on this bird?

I do not test altitude. Here it is a helicopter zone.
Did you ever try a WIFI repeater to extend the WIFI range ??

Is the little picture in picture the fpv of this drone? Is the fpv of this drone the same as its distance control distance? It had static as soon as it took off.

If your charging dock is only charging one battery at a time that means you have a faulty charging dock you should have contacted holystone immediately when you've discovered that problem they would have sent you out a new charging dock the drones the controller and the charging dock and the batteries come with one year warranty so they would have sent you out new replacements. I bought my drone brand new from Amazon I didn't experience any charging dock issues it charges both of my batteries at the same time

What if you add a parabolic range extender plus a Yagi antenna? Could it go further?
anything to improve signal will work.
If you will, mine is not flying very far... maybe 60ft or so... then stops.... and also... it will only go in reverse sometimes (fairly often) back to me. It won't go forward, left, or right....? Thank you much for your time and help!
Before taking off after calibration, go into the settings in the app and turn off beginner mode and increase the numerical limitations on distance and height.

The useable maximum distance of this drone is 200 to 300m ie. it’s maximum wifi distance.
PS. You proved it is an mjx product with greater then 1 km range.
Yes unfortunately 5g wifi fpv is more beneficial still yet for drone makers to attract buyers than 5.8ghz fpv.
More people have phones than fpv goggles...

It is capped at 1200meters. It is regulated and illegal to fly any higher.

I noticed some severe toilet bowling with mine. Any idea how to fix this? I calibrate before every flight and make sure it's on a flat surface still no luck.
Did you calibrate the compass and gyro?

That is strange. I've never had an issue with mine.Do you use your phone on the phone holder? Sometimes the phone can interfere with the signal.

Yes, it has the waypoints feature that is just not good enough to use in my opinion. I have not seen any of these budget drones with a usable follow me or waypoints.
