Very important step people dont talk about on drop fades is that you need to make your guidelines wider in the back of the head or you will end up leaving a dark shadow in the back of your clients head.

Facts bro. I'm in barber school and my instructor gets mad when I make giudlines when fading. Like barbers use giudlines for a lot of things but they don't like using giudlines when fading. Unfortunately my barber school gets taught the old school way and not much on men's fading. So I had to teach myself skin fades from youtube and you! They also get aggravated if I take my time on a cut but like you said the client will appreciate if you're taking your time trying to give them the best outcome you can.
