Novac really stole my heart with this scene, her reaction to the old lady not knowing her husband had passed was so moving, and the way Violet made her feel calmed but also validate her emotions… they are making a great team.

The wife has dementia, more than likely. She has probably bring sleeping in the same bed, thinking he’s just sick. I’m assuming dementia because I don’t watch the show but I recognize the signs. My mom had it and taking care of her probably ended my dad’s life early. She’s crying because she probably realizes that Joanne is far enough in her illness that she doesn’t know.
