I love this. I hope the when you fly to one, you will acctually slide on it, not go through it or bounce on it either.
The snack or drink part, the pic in this video was amazing, I want that mug!
Yay dragon keese eye + arrow easy grinding for dragon haha I'm immortal #ImFullOfMyself😂
Oops left out grinding for dragon parts
What if the gleeok has been replaced where all the dragons in botw were.

It would be really cool if the leviathan bones came back to life! That would add much more variety to the dragons. 😯
stal leviathans………. wowee zowee
@@bossbaby2119 Now that would be cool!
@blubber Will Link use recall on that underground leviathan skeleton to give us an underworld dragon to complete the ourobouros with the new sky dragon?

The dragons are one of my favorite aspects of botw.I love watching them fly in the distance and the music that plays when you’re near them.
Same. So magical
And? They did what for Us?
@@netweed09 Do they have to "do" something to be appreciated?
The first time I saw one I was in AWE. Terrified, stunned, super curious, I couldn’t believe my eyes. Wasn’t sure if it they were enemies or friendly, one of the best experiences in the game
@@netweed09 Uhmmm, they gave us some super useful materials?
Maybe the new dragon we are seeing is the equivalent to Hylia's spirit since the 3 golden goddesses have their own. Just a fun theory!
I like this idea, so let's try to figure out a possible name. We already have these examples(letters consistent between the goddess' name, region, and dragon are capitalized):
DIN -> elDIN -> DINrall
NAYru -> laNAYru -> NAYdra
FARore-> FARon -> FARosh
Since there isn't really a region or province named after Hylia besides Hyrule, that's probably our best starting point:
HYlia -> HYrule -> Hy___
With the Zonai influences, this is all probably incorrect and the dragon has some unrelated name that references some other character from the series. Any ideas?
@@aidenwallin3523 maybe it'll follow the Twilight Princess regime: three of the Light Spirits were Faron, Eldin and Lanayru. The fourth Light Spirit was called Ordona, possibly after an unknown deity.
Alternatively, there were five divine entities in Skyward Sword, with the fifth being Levias. He's probably dead - one of the three Leviathans - but he might have a spiritual reincarnation. And his name is better to go off than the Wind Fish.
@@xinpingdonohoe3978 I was thinking about Ordona, I don't think there's many references to it in BOTW, so unless they start naming sky islands too, there isn't likely to be a connection. My hope is that one of the new regions(gameplay demo shows different region borders) will build or rebuild a village, and name it Ordon Village.
I had this exact same idea!
@Aiden Wallin man I'm so not creative, and the only thing I could come up with was Hydria, but also kind of reminds me of Hydra from Capt America lol 😅
When Aonuma pans to Naydra in the demo, he says "There are lots of ways to reach the sky islands"
As you said, "Coincidence? I think maybe"
Yes! I also noticed this and think, maybe we could ride the dragons up there. Or at least fly via their updraft.
@@elli_senfsaat Yesterday I tried to catch a ride on Dinraal up to the sky, but I just got thrown into a bottomless chasm

Fusion is the theme that caught my attention. Between the two dragons coming together, the mural with the Zelda lookalike and deity(?) clasping hands. The new game mechanics. The two seemingly different worlds suddenly coinciding.
Also, might be a stretch but the beasts in the logo of tears of the kingdom kind of resemble a dragon that looks like a fusion between farosh and dinraal to me.
Saw the ending and just wanna say dragons are VERY important!!!
Rewatching this post beating TotK’s main story… the feels. And how well this held up. *chef’s kiss* Good work, as usual.

“Importance of the dragons”
“One month ago”
…. Welp
dragons are my favorite things ever and i'm 100% serious when i say i'm excited for totk bc it has more dragons. like i seriously cannot wait to see the dragons. i almost always stop what i'm doing in botw to see the dragons when they pass by. they're so amazing. the feeling of awe and glee i got when i first discovered them in the game is unforgettable. all the dragon content in totk is exciting
I think the Zonai are going to be the equivalent to the Sheikah but for three goddesses instead of Hylia.
Nah wait that would match up so well. Instead of the triforce the 3 tribes were each worshipping a different goddess.
That would actually be quite amazing. The Sheikah keep order for Hylia's royal family, the Zonai more fundamentally protect the world of the Gods. Maybe these two goals clashed, and the Sheikah came out on top.
@@xinpingdonohoe3978 it could also give us some more backstory into the sheikah. We don’t actually have any clue of how they got started or when exacty
@@Mr1991bbk Impa from Skyward Sword said the Sheikah are Hylia's choosen people to protect her blood line. This would explain why there is always an Impa protecting a zelda with each incarnation.
@@kassaken6521 yea but that explains nothing
Maybe climbing the tower lets you speak to the dragon and that's how you get the paraglider. If the island starts the game and is linear, it's possible that you get ascend last and that's how you get up the tower.

Yeah. They're kind of important for this game's story.
But now that I finished the game, I keep thinking about the three dragons we've met before and who could they have been in the ancient past?
When you said dragon era, I immediately thought of this like becoming known as "The Hero of Dragons" how cool would that be!!!
He would still be the hero of the wild but also known as hero of dragons throughout time would be awesome

@@RustyNips Omg that's perfect!!!
Don't links only get one title?
Like there's a hero of time but there isn't a hero of masks
@@thegreatgoobert5847 i think it's hero of termina or something like that although that could be a fan title idk as far as I know he isn't really rememberd as a hero in termina they don't know he did anything aside from mask man, skullkid and the fairys
Oh and I guess the goddess of time
Same with the "hero of winds" from wind waker I'm not sure if he has another name in phantom hourglass.
But the link from a link to the past has at least 2 titles and appears in 4 games "hero of legend" (alttp) and "hero of essence of time and nature" (oracle games) altho it could be 2 different titles one from each game I'm unsure, and there could be another unofficial titles from links awakening "hero of awakening" but that would be another unknown/unrecognized title because only the wind fish would know about it
This all reminds me of my first encounter with a dragon in both
I first cowered in fear and then paused my game to look up what I was supposed to do
I ended up on a reddit post asking about that with a reply advising to try and enter the dragon's mouth, as there was supposedly a shrine in there
That was a fun few attempts
That's kinda sad..
You should just experience a game without pausing and going to the internet for answers.

@@HyruleGamer Always do.
From what I know about the zonai the dragon often represents courage, the owl wisdom and board tho rare power.
The dragon feature's heavily because I think they were the ones to first fight the calamity before the shika.
Boy when you find out about that new dragon. It will blow your mind..
I think the most interesting thing about tears of the kingdom is with it's story with Zelda i believe it heavily implies that the three dragons from breath of the wild are likely the ACTUAL three goddesses that formed the world, not just simply named after them. (Or maybe a reimagining of them as Zonai).
Honestly I'm patiently waiting for an updated video from Hyrule gamer its gonna be a really interesting topic to cover
I feel like the dragons are going to play a part in puzzles around the world, and think that the zonai use dragons in their architecture to demonstrate how they revere them, and I think this reverence might be connected to the new dragon floating around the sky islands
Jade and dragon era could be both the name, because the material of the dragon in the title is similar to a jade. It also seems like the new robot enemies (forgot the name) could have jade in them or have to do something with jade. Maybe jade will play a big role with the dragons? It’s a stretch but it’ll be cool to speculate and think about. Such a cool discovery tho!
Edit:
Something else I thought about, this is off topic, what if the Korok with the backpack can only sell certain items? Because they aren’t as big as beetle or anyone else selling items, maybe they can only sell smaller items like gems and fruits, or maybe they sell entirely different items that we haven’t even seen before, like korok specific items? That would be really cool to see.
If it says Jade Relic that would be Fi levels of Cpt. Obvious though.
Oh hey I also made a video on dragons today!! Was excited to watch yours and see your take as well!! 😄 my theory is that the dragons’ role in the story is gonna go one of three ways - either an endgame flying mount, a spirit guide, or like a weapon. Either way, super excited for them to have a bigger role!🐲🐉
“Dragon era” is very funny when you know the story
Its her dragon era 💅
I totally agree, I think the fact of needing a shard of the dragon to purify the spring of (power/courage/wisdom) in botw signifies divine quality’s. The yellow one could be specific to the sky islands but if they are back it adds to your theory.
Baited me hard with that pause in the outro lol! I love this, I felt like the dragons were so underutilized in BOTW, I would absolutely love to see them come back in this capacity!
Cheering you on for that 200k! You deserve it 🙌🏻
Cheers!
2:59 I KNEW IT! I SAID IT IN THE DISCORD A WHILE AGO BUT I KNEW IT!!
Very effective dramatic pause after revealing the "Dragon Era" translation. Which btw sounds absolutely brilliant! I really hope the dragons play a major part in this game!!

Nice one haha, send it in to be featured! :D
Great video! That dragon with a mane has me thinking of Falkor from never ending story, Link will be dragon riding in TOTK
Very cool video! And love your thumbnail too, man. Love the silhouette aesthetic.
Thanks a ton!
Great video! Maybe even the tears we're going to looking for, are from dragons!? This could explain all the dragons we can see in the trailers!
YAY, DRAGONS🎉
YAY INDEED!
Yes! Lets get more dragon action in this game. Dragons are awesome.
(Also great job with the thumbnail this time! It's really nice looking.)
Islands have likely always been there. the Cloud barrier is missing now somthing happened to it. The zonai could be the descendants of skyloft that stayed on in the sky or possibly the Ooccoo of twilight princess
Little did he know we would get
*SPOILERS*
Dragondorf and Zeldragon battle in the sky
6:28 “where we’ve seen the word zonai appear in a game for the first time” ok so the location called “zonai ruins” next to the dragon spring in the faron woods in botw just doesn’t exist then
I mean from a live being sorry xD
This video came out at a time when I was not watching any content about the game because I was too hype about it. Watching it now in hindsight having finished the game ... very interesting.
ive beaten the game i cant wait for you all to find out who the new dragon is
thank youuuu!! OMG. I've been thrown head first into Zelda lore bingeing thanks to the ToTK trailer, but I've been desperately looking for anyone whose noticed the massive dragon connections and gives it anything more that a passing significance. In my humble opinion, I think you're absolutely right, especially since at least 2 of the new outfits we see in the ToTK trailer - are, in my humble opinion, dragon sets.
Yup. we're gonna get dragon sets, mark my words.
Not sure if you're already aware of this, I'm sure you are, I can't be the first person to have made the connection, but since I noticed this myself I hope you'll forgive me and indulge me in a little explanation:
There's a shot where link rides on the armour bedecked horse (very Epona looking) and is about to fire an arrow fused with a ruby (aka a fire arrow) wearing a new armour set. This, on it's own, could easily be taken as just another type of barbarian or zonai set or sooomething BUT. imo this is the Dinraal set. look at the horn shape, the mane, the red colouring, the association with everything fire related in the shot itself. bit of a stretch still with this shot alone but my most compelling evidence for this beeing a Dinraal set is actually because we also see what, to me, can only be the Naydra set - in the shot where Link and Tulin are inside the massive storm and that terrifying ice spider (actually maybe dragon? now I think about it...) creature thing is coming at them. look closely at links outfit, and especially the strangely crown shaped headpiece and it's colour palette. plus a clear association with ice here. alone, these new clothing sets seem very mysterious but because we have both of them in the trailer the connection to the dragons is easier to make. it's so compelling in fact that I am almost 100% sure my hunch will turn out to be correct.
ANYWHO, thanks for indulging me, carry on 🤣
5:24 You can also see to the left that the logo morphs into a side view of Wolf Link’s head.
Seeing as how the original 3 dragons from BotW were also representative of each goddess/triforce piece, their importance in the story may have do with relevant areas we've seen in the overworld being influenced in some way by Ganon. An example would be Death Mountain having Malice flowing out of it. The idea is to free Dinraal who is sealed in the volcano by Ganon, and our task is to free him to aid in repairing the Master Sword.
I knew the dragons were going to play a bigger part since the second E3 2021 trailer. Music can be a great indicator for themes or events and that trailer ends with a shot of Hyrule Castle floating over malice with Zelda's Lullaby playing in the same style and instrument as the Dragon's theme. And in the latest trailer I think Zelda is talking to them when she says "lend him your power" because it plays after that as well.
I’m surprised I haven’t heard anything about the fact that sometimes the dragons are kissing and sometimes they’re…ouroboros-ing
Another day, another great HG theory video 😎👍
Glad you enjoyed it!
I thought that the cover art look like a set of hands with arms to create a circle. Like the hand that saves Link from falling and is in the trailers themselves.
Then the different hand positions each have a different meaning, just like in BOTW each monk use a different pose.
Could be just me that the dragon heads can look like hands too.
Maybe TOTK can give more light as to why the dragons "cycle" from/to the clouds. They never touch the ground in BOTW except with Nydra while corrupted. Where/when do they sleep?
I don't know of that's an old game theory reference but I love it lol. Great video we will find out in almost a month and you could be right you don't have to be a theorists to notice the dragons stuff around
One thing I wanted to point out of breathe of the wilds logo, the specific flower in the logo is call a silent princess. It’s been years, but so as a refresher, there was an entire memory dedicated to it. Zelda tells link that despite their best efforts, the royals could not grow the flower in captivity, it could only flourish in the wilds, and Zelda hopes the species could hang on.
I think the point of having the silent princess present in the logo is a symbolism of
1. The first LoZ game that’s open world, playing into that wilds trope. Kinda how the flower can only flourish out there.
2. The events of Botw are literally post apocalypse in hyrule. The kingdom is long gone and so many people died 100 years ago. The silent princess is a rare flower that, despite the odds, has not gone extinct, and it is a play on how the kingdom, , hyrulians, Zelda, and Link were almost wiped out but are hanging on.
I believe it’s incredibly fitting that the silent princess is in the logo for Botw……….(it’s also a little fitting because if you don’t remember the silent princess cutscene in the first game, it just shows how weak the story was overall compared to the other games lol). But yeah Botw is still
Botw was and still is amazing*
Loved the vid, keep up the AMAZING work :)
Thanks a ton!
@@HyruleGamer Neat video, Find Videos of Nintendo and Zelda in my Channel!
I have my own theory regarding them. So, so far from the footage we have seen we have only seen 2 serpent-like dragons. Presumably Naydra, and then a mysterious new yellow and white dragon. I have a theory this might be the only 2 dragons we see in the game. I mean, the logo even has two dragons forming an ouroboros, which we can safely assume will have some importance. I believe this new dragon, not only is it the dragon of the sky, but specifically it represents the sun/light. And if this is indeed naydra (bc it could be a brand new dragon that looks similar), it would be pretty safe to assume that Naydra would represent the new. Being Naydra is the dragon of water/lanayru province, this corresponds pretty perfectly with it representing the moon, as the moon is what controls the tides. Plus, we already know that the moon plays some significance in the game, as the cutscene showing Ganondorf resurrecting all of his minions from deep below the ground is done through a seemingly much more powerful blood moon manipulation. If Naydra (or whatever it is), is the moon dragon, perhaps there is some tie with Ganondorf being able to wield its full power using the dragon. We already know the skies will be a new point of exploration, and also the caves below. A sun dragon to represent the skies, and a moon dragon to represent the darkness below.
🐲 Dragon Era 🐲
Everything about line that was so epic.
ngl the flamethrower shield gives me the rising of the shield hero vibes and i love it as a playthrough idea
You know what I'm curious about? All the circle patterns we're seeing in all the promotional images and backgrounds. It's on the oled, the website and in a bit of the architecture in the game itself. I'm just curious as it seems everywhere in totk yet doesn't really fit the mystic dragon style of the zonai. Any thoughts?
If we had a new dragon god..i think it possibly could explain that one creature in the mural surrounded by the teardrops in one of the previous trailers. That's just my guess...but it would be cool. 🤔😊
If you look closely at the master sword on the logo, it looks like a dragon.
3:14
I also think it is quite green too - so maybe xanadu?
I don't know but xanadu is a shade of green, probably the most integral colour to this game's plot, so yeah: dragons are definitely going to be important in this game! 😁😁😁
Came and watched this a month after release. Man, you got a lot of this right. But that dragon was even more important than you could have ever theorized.
Fr
Nice video! Can you pleaseee do a video about the metal bird that link lands on in the first trailer? It seems like it has barely been talked about.
Perhaps
Not a lot of people know but on the traveller's shield the same shield link uses with the flamethrower, has two dragons on it
Didnt BOTW confirm the Zonai were draconic? I swear i read something about a lost draconian tribe and well, the only lost tribe we know of are the zonai
I think the serpents in the title is a reference to this being both the first and last game in the timeline.
Well you arent wrong lol
I would love if we could talk to the dragons like in past game. The reasoning could be that Link can talk to them now, with the power of his green hand; it would be so fun if they gave us side quest and had their own mini stories.
I think the dragon is the symbol for courage and the hero. The two dragons in the logo could symbolize the ancient and current hero combining their powers.
I think that this video would help me out a lot if it went more into where dragons have been important or mentioned in previous titles, most people haven’t played every one and a fair portion of players are newer to the series with the release of the switch and BOTW.
iirc Ouroboros is a single serpent eating its own tail. Two serpents chasing each other says to me renewal/rebirth, which fits with the cyclical nature of these stories. Great vid per usual!
That's the most common depiction, but not the only one. There's historic evidence of ones consisting of multiple serpentine creatures.
Besides, the Ouroboros does signify cycles. So you're pretty much describing it anyway.
Zelda is asking the dragons to “Lend Him Your Power”
I know this came out before the final TotK trailer, but could the monster at 2:40 in the trailer be one of the leviathans?
I love that this game will have more focus on dragons, they're super interesting. My first dragon encounter was actually freeing Naydra!
Zonais really seemed to have pulled a reverse Atlantis with the Sky Islands.
how do you feel now?
@@isleep1905 I... the new dragon is my bestie and I drop whatever I'm doing when I see her in the distance and take a goblin glider to go see her.
Doing that self deprecating stuff doesn’t make you look humble. It makes you look not confident. You don’t need it. Love your content.
The new dragon is probably the sky island guardian. That's it's region. The same as the other three each have their own regions.
It'd be cool it we could talk to them this time. Maybe our new arm gives us that ability?
I'm surprised that no one else saw a dragon in the projection on the surface of Hyrule that also looks like the figure amid the tears if you shift your perspective. The first thing I thought I saw was a dragon head.
Gaboe30 fr in the trenches 😭 is that just a plain potato? What’s your plan, chomping it like an apple?
There was a dragon in the top left of the screen of the title reveal trailer when Link is about to jump of after opening the two giant doors
I think that the Zonai and the dragons are linked - and the Zonai are the key to the sealing of Ganondorf. then came an age of the Sheikah and Hyrule working around the cyclical nature of the malice escaping ganondorfs sealed body. but with the start of ToTK that barrier has been broken and the Zonais last line of defense is activated, probably calling on the dragons to counteract Ganondorfs army more actively this time.
I’m so early my snack isn’t even ready yet, can’t wait to watch the video though! 🎉
Hope you enjoy!
There's an outfit of farosh, dinraal and naydra. Do you think there will be one of the light dragon soon?
DLC perhaps 👀
If there will be one, I think it should be an outfit for Zelda if she becomes playable in future dlc
Or maybe she could show up wearing it in a cutscene for future dlc
This aged like good wine
Great video - but most of all - thank you for the subtitles. It's much appreciated.
You're welcome!
Maybe the dragons are keeping the islands aloft? Dragon pressure/fire/clouds is how the wingless dragons "fly" or rather they run on it, and a strong dragon could lift mountains in this way. The old cloud barrier in skyward sword being maintained by dragons would make degrees of sense.
One piece Totk theory; Kaido creates clouds that can lift heavy objects, ie islands, the dragons flying around Totk are creating clouds that keep the islands floating. Even more speculation?
I mean honestly, the first thing I thought when I saw the stone carving of the Maybe Hylia, Maybe Masked Deity stone carving was that it was a carving of a dragon
Lets go Link gonna make a dragon cry for sick powerups
Great vid thanks for the awesome content 👍
I think the Zonai worshipped the golden goddesses but in the form of creatures. Nayru , deity of law and order, as in owl. Din, deity of the earth, as a boar. And Faore, deity of life, as a dragon. You can tell by there archu
I post that before I finished. But I wanted to say you can tell who they worshipped the most.
Daaaaang the epicness of "Dragon Era"
😎
Haven't heard anybody mention that the master sword in the title is completed by zonai tech, only the dragons, can only imagine what that means for the master sword since its broken now! 😁
Not entirely related to the video, but there has to be a reason the sky Islands have "appeared" now, rather than just always being there... Maybe they were hidden in the clouds? Or invisible to the eye similar to how the Dragons are? Or they were just really high up and have fallen/lowered down closer to the ground for whatever reason, because otherwise I don't know how people havent noticed them especially the Rito and their divine beast Vah Medoh? It could be that they can't fly as high up as them though? (Theres probably already an explanation and I've just missed it or something, lemme know If I have)
I think that ganon/demise has merged the realms 😢
The buildings on the sky islands aren't typical Zonai structures as seen in breath of the wild. So, this idea popped in my head: What if the Zonai were enslaved, and the question is by who. I don't think it would be the Shieka. Maybe not so much enslaved as subservient to a higher culture.
YESSSSSSSS MORE ZELDA CONTENT FROM HYRULE GAMERRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR
Woohu!
I am so excited to see all the dragons. Give. Give me the dragons, Nintendo. I need them in my life.
Side note, I'm kinda hoping for voice-acted dragons! Maybe not TOO heavy voice acting, but them speaking to Link would be really cool in my opinion.
I really wanna ride these huge dragons i think it would be cool riding something way huger than we seen before
Thumbnails awesome.
Cheers!
I'd love to register a dragon at a sky stable
Yoooo imagine that haha
I have been imagining new mounts at stables for a while
Maybe we can finally register Satori?
I think it would be cool if there were more elements in totk like ground and that would include new wizrobes and dragons
Jade relic = green tear for link? Or what the zonai figure used to seal ganon?
4:00 BELIEVER, BELIEVER
I think it may be possible you are collecting dragon scales as well there are the same shape as tears wasn't there a Zelda game where you had to get dragon scales or am I wrong.
I feel like the Zonai are not responsible for creating the sky islands but we’re chosen to protect them and keep them up in terms of landscaping and preservation. Maybe that’s why they developed the constructs .
