#growyourownfood #homesteading #farming - Jak na to + styl
I’ve dreamed of having a farm all my life but unfortunately have never been able to afford property with enough land to grow more than just a few vegetables in a couple of raised garden beds. However, we recently bought a house with a larger yard, so now I’m finally able to fit a couple of vegetable beds and, best of all, fulfill my lifelong dream of having a small flock of chickens! 🥰 As happy as this makes me, having a larger garden and a flock of chickens to tend to is much more difficult at this point in my life (I’ll be 73 in a just few weeks), but the current state of our world makes me determined to produce as much of our food as possible despite the physical challenges that go along with aging. I’ve been watching several CZcams channels on homesteading in an effort to learn better, easier methods of growing and preserving more of our food and wanted to let you know that I appreciate your informative videos, along with your common sense beliefs and willingness to stand up for what you believe in and speak out against the evil that now permeates our society.
Hey Steven, been subscribed to you for a few years now and hear you talk about your faith every once in awhile. I'm a very devout believer in Christ and I have to say it was very refreshing to see your perspectives on the Bible and hear you talk more about your faith. Thank you for not being scared to say the name of Jesus. A lot of people on CZcams want to just say God or say they're a "person of faith" But will never actually say the name of Jesus Christ. I hope to catch you on your next live stream. Keep up the good work. Thanks for all your help. Me and my wife just started our first garden last year. We've planted about 6or 7 fruit trees a. Muscadine, grapevine and countless peppers and tomatoes and lettuce. Your content has truly helped a lot. Keep reading your Bible. Keep praying. I truly believe the Lord is coming back soon. I hope to see you one day if not here in the sky. You and your wife stay safe.
You have inspired me to stop waiting for things to get better, but to go ahead and start my gardens, orchard and chicken flock. Have had very small gardens for 45 yrs but in 2006 I started bigger gardens, started using chips in the garden and went “no till”.
This year I built two 4’x12’x 16”raised beds in my orchard to add to the two 6’and 10’ raised beds that my husband built for me. So glad because I’m no 73yrs and I appreciate no bending so much. They are instant gardens which grow amazing amounts of food fast. Planning to build more and fill my orchard. Thank you for sharing and encouraging us!😊
God bless you that sounds like a great plan to grow a lot of food!
It is nice to know that I'm not alone in watching how things are REALLY arising, unfolding, and persisting.
You are truly an inspiration to us & have gotten us back to searching for land to get out of the city. Thank you for all the information you share!🙏
THANKYOU, my two favourites topics of conversation. ALL GLORY TO THE MOST HIGH. The wildlife and plants are a wonderful gift to us.
Great to see a Millennial be so aware of what's really going on in the world, love it -- keep speaking up.
Been watching you for about a year now,.. learned /learning so much,.. thanks for being more transparent on this one.. I always knew you had “ the Truth” and good morals/values etc ,.. God bless brother 👍
GOD BLESS YOU STEVEN FOR BEING SO BOLD and SPEAKING THE TRUTH!!! We’ve gone through so much chaos and upheaval in the weather. God promises there will always be seasons. I’m old enough to remember real peace and security.
Love the garden and homestead tour.
Isn’t it fun and satisfying to grow your own food and provide for others!?
Keep sharing what you know😉
Preach brother. Absolutely Love your message and the life you live by example!
Not at all what I expected to hear. You do you man. I’m not worried about what everyone else is up to or what they believe. I’m here for the homestead lifestyle. I don’t want to give my money to big business when I can do it all myself. Pesticides in my food giving me cancer.. no thanks. That’s what I’m listening for. I’m happy to see you thriving and learning as you go. The learning is such a joyful experience of this journey. I’m building a closer relationship with my kids with it and it’s great. They pass it to their friends and they are fascinated by our journey. The entire journey is beautiful. Watching the earth fix itself when you quit poisoning it. Seeing the bugs and animals harmonize with your land when you allow nature to come back to replace the stale grass lawns. It’s beautiful.
Open your eyes numnuts
Hi guy.. have raised up to 40 but had to give up sheep when my husband left(divorced). Now at 84 have a younger farm manager to help restore the farm after years of fallow. We are both relearning.. love your inspiration .. in 8B coastal NC. Nitro Nana
I dried the sponges, then shredded and put in soap. Makes a great exfoliate bar for after working in the garden. Thank you for the tour of your garden.
Never thought of that. I really like that idea!
I'm growing loofa this year in middle TN. VERY excited to experiment with it this winter and plant again next year. It smells so good as well!
Although im not traditionally religious I respect and appreciate your take on the connection between god, the earth and our lives. The more I farm I begin to feel a deeper connection to something larger than myself, whether that is god or just the interconnected feeling of nature I do not know. But I hope that all humans on earth have the chance to feel that
😊w32😢
You're feeling the wonders of power, beauty and mysticism of creation. 💚🌱
Trust me, it is God big G! I challenge you to sincerely pray and ask Him to speak to your heart. There’s no way when you consider the wonders of His creation, that there’s any explanation other than a higher being. Get a good study Bible and begin in Genesis, then study the story of Abraham and God’s promise to him. God will lead you in His Word.
@@SweetLife27 don’t need a religious doctrine to tell me that I have to feed my community healthy food. Try telling that to the rest of my “christian” county whose dedicated our counties sole agricultural purpose to growing drugs for people (wine and weed), a bit hypocritical wouldn’t you say?
Agree 100% surprised to see someone so young saying it.
Im not too hard on others that don't. Some don't have the mental capacity to grasp that community and society is breaking down. I don't think they're stupid but they don't question things and they're respectful and trustful of their leaders as they "should " be able to be.
You're living my dream! Please keep posting. I just started gardening very new to it, but i watched your video where you set up your mom's raised beds last night.
Learning a lot. I like how you go into smaller details. Ty i cant imagine creating content and running a farm thats a lot! 😅
Van Gogh's crops are nice this year.
Yes he looks just like van wow I know the painting you are talking about wonder if they are related 😅
Welcome to Tennessee! That’s where I am and I totally agree with your opinion and we grow as much of our own food as possible and we have a network of friends preparing and trading. 😊
Ngl.. When I first started watching your channel I found extensive value in the information you provided, but I thought you were just another Epic California liberal gardener. When you moved to the South and started farming, I knew you were alright! The majority of people will stay blind to the reality of what's really going on, but I have a feeling that once they're eating cricket patties they'll start whistling a different tune! We're the same age, but I'm a couple of years behind your farms achievements and will hopefully be catching up quick. Keep spreading truth and knowledge! We appreciate it!!
I am so glad to hear you stand up for truth!! Also, I was very glad to see that you have moved to the east coast. Catching up on your videos. Blessings
As a 65 y/ o grandmother I have always had a garden and chickens! Yes it sad as my husband, children and grandchildren believe everything is fine!!! They think I’m off my rocker with the world order affairs that I have been aware of for several years! I just keep on doing and also canning and extra storage! I even bought 2 adult
Awesome video. So refreshing to hear young people express and spread Gods word. You are doing what God want you to do. GOD bless you. You are very knowledgeable about many things. Keep soaring.
Yes I am a boomer and have always been at odds with my generation. I am profoundly embarrassed and ashamed of the empty values I was brought up with. I am planting trees on my land in WI as my penance for my retirement. Great words of wisdom about learning what it is like to raise animals and the relationship with their life and death.
The generation used to mean something until it was bought out, just like many generations.
You spoke my sentiments exactly. Will said, clear and concise, and courageous. You inspire me to speak truth, clearly, boldly, and without apology. I am embarking on my first rabbits and broiler chickens this year. Thank you for all the tips as well as the warnings.
Great tour of your farm and great talk as well, as I have many of the same views. Wife and I are looking forward to moving to our small house on 4 acres of tropical rainforest agricultural zoned land on wet side of The Big Island. I would like to attend some workshops with Drake as how to apply KNF when we are able to afford to move. We plan on using a couple grow out hair sheep to “develop” sort of a silvo orchard pasture and possibly (if we have enough room) getting a mini Jersey. We were at the HOA in Virginia last weekend. Hearing others speak there verified we are in the right mindset to homestead. The useful content in your videos is over the top.
Oh My, I have watching you today and just love your ideas! Especially the last 5 - 10 minutes. Individual Liberty to grow and harvest what is best for you! We just bought 112 acres of land in Ala one year ago. We started with grooming the property for hunting and an escape from Hurricanes where our home is in Florida. Now, we are planning our our garden and found you! Already built 4 garden beds. I have 100 seedlings begging to go into the ground but I hear we don't start until after Easter.
I am 63 years old and just love your ideas! So does my husband. We consider ourselves newbies but hope to bring other knowledge and wisdom to this process. We learned a lot living in Alaska but needed warmer weather.
Thank you for sharing your life!
Love that there are more ppl your age feeling like we (63) do.
We are trying to prepare.
I am so amazed with what you're doing and the size of your land.Great man, keep it up.
I am 45. I live in CA. I am dying to get out of this place. Looking at west Tennessee. We are growing our own food(garden in front yard, chickens for meat and eggs, turkeys, and a pig) on a 7200sqft residential lot so I can learn how for when we have more land. You give me some hope that the younger generation Will hopefully turn this country around but it will be ugly. New subscriber here also. First video Ive watched. Great job!
Thank you for sharing, I have ducks now, plan to expand to chickens in the next few years then sheep. Please keep sharing about your sheep as you can. Very helpful ☺️
A year later, from this rant and you are right on target my friend. So blessed that you are able to homestead. We are awake and have been, but not everyone is in the same position. God bless all who truly seek truth, peace, and freedom! 🎉❤😊
I completely agree with everything you say and im a fellow grower and I love the information you put out. Have a great day bro.
I love your farm! You know a lot about farming and animals, and I like listening to you. I grew up on a farm and at age 75, I still have vegetable and flower gardens. My husband and I love it!
You're so young but so wise! Thank you so much for sharing and speaking the truth. May God bless you and keep you under His Protection.
You've learned & put into action so much, so productive & knowledge. Congrats
I never heard that until today that Shiso (Perilla spp.) can be referred to as "sesame leaves." But, the sesame plant (Sesamum) is a separate plant. Interesting how things can get so mixed-up!
Thanks for the clarification--hard to see on a tiny screen!💚🌿
Just crossing your page for the first time and I must say that you are a very smart young man continue with what you're doing love your show!😮
First thing in training your dog around sheep #1 thing is to start with a leash to keep your dog under control at all time then follow the command steps to make a fine animal that will keep you himself and the sheep under his careful eye, the great job of protection of a loving Dog.
Migardener also good he just now able to talk about his struggle with his new property n regulations, a sad story... N ME Gardener great.
Yes, lonely, but we appreciate you educating us. We that are awake are still not caught up. You're ahead by 7 years.
Thanks for the pork/nitrate info. So much to change in our choices to be healthy.
Just stumbled upon this video and I have to say it's a great one🙌
God bless you
Great homestead tour. Keep speaking the truth. Very inspiring.

I learned more about some of your views and some projects that I didn't realize that you had going on. I also learned more about nitrites/nitrates that I wasn't yet familiar with. I learned that I need to move and get more usable land not in the woods on a hill. I like all of that. I also liked that it was live and interactive. I also like that your videos (including live streams) are synced to many other platforms 👍 I learned a lot more as well as I'm only in the gardening side of things for now.
I didn't know about the nitrates in the meat. I typically only eat venison which is my favorite. I also grow shiitake's, we had a cold spell which seemed to kind of shock the buds coming out of the logs. So I had to water them every day. Thanks for showing your homestead. I really enjoy your channel and your boldness to share about God. Keep it up.
Great Live Steven! Great information in this one. Well done sir! Well done! 😎👍
@@rrittenhouse Thanks Robert! Yes that's a really good take away to visualize what usable land looks like, although it is tempting to be a hermit in the woods!
@@bethpoeschl3871 Ya the nitrate thing blew my mind this year. Interesting ya I've noticed the cold really affect them too. Thank you Beth keep up the good work on your homestead too!
Yo Man I just wanna say that you are really smart and sincere with your videos and it is really refreshing and inspiring! Incredible!
Thanks so much for Your stance on employees not being forced "The thing" and the fact that the companies and small businesses that You support didn't force it.
Yes I saw the event 201 stuff first hand very early. It was certainly the biggest psyop ever.
I'm a raw feeder for my cats and dogs. Appreciate your sharing the info about the percentage of eggs you used with your kittens! I've been feeding some raw eggs as well and have gradually increased the volume to their tolerance. Too much causes diarrhea. As I understand, the avidin does bind with biotin but the yolk provides enough to offset the effects with enough remaining free in the system. Eggshells can help supply the calcium necessary but younger animals have greater need for it. Approximately sized raw meaty bones are great!
thanks for the videos. I have my house uo for sale now i plan to do exactly what you are doing in TN. i had started this journey in 2018. life happened to stopped me for a few years. really thank you!!!!. the tips are fantastic! ❤❤❤
I love that your jadam Korean farming you introduced me to. Best garden this year thank you. I’m doing some different experiments with Desert farming and rainforest farming. Your garden looks great I hope to do some Permaculture gardening next year
This was absolutely brilliant. Somehow missed the video when it came out - just listening to it now and love it
Darn, missed the livestream but glad I could watch the VOD. Love the progress on your homestead! Looks like the systems are coming together! I'm excited to see what your market-based plans are in the future, if any. I know you did the market garden stuff in San Diego, anything like that for the sheep, pig, mushrooms, or garden?
As far as the political talk, I think you should talk about the things that you are passionate about! The Karen's will weed themselves out of the community. Stay Free Brother!
We raised 3 pigs slop fed, in 2 10x10 stalls, 12 chickens free range, 16 rabbits grass fed, 2 milk goats grass fed in an indoor master stall no more than 16x30; fished daily; 1/2 ac veg, berry and fruit garden; 1 acre half wheat, half potatoes, 4 100ft rows of cabbage, turnips and beets; foraged mushrooms and berries; 2 4x5ft wagon loads of elderberries; occasional doves caught in the attic; butter and cheese from the milk plant; beef from the butcher; citrus, bananas, etc from the weekly roving market; beer and mineral water from the local brewery and fed over 12 people. Very little was store bought. Wheat was milled, straw and hay, an outhouse and a 10 x 14ft compost, with liquid catch shared beneath all spread in fall. Made our own wines and juices, took honey from the beekeeper, sold flour to the baker. Fruits were cherry tree, 8 plums, 2 apple, 1 pear, elderberries wild, 6 gooseberry, 6 red currant, 20 raspberry, 50 strawberry, blueberries wild, many herbs wild, walnuts and hazelnut wild and numerous other wild foods. We ate very well. We smoked and canned hams and sausages, pickled veggies, made an oaken barrel sauerkraut, made vinegar, combed n spun wool, wiped with quarter sheets of phone books, catalogs and newspapers, kept fish and eel live in a tank on the north end, 3x 5x5, sour dough rolls and rye loaves. We were as self sufficient as possible. Shoes from shoe maker, either knitted, wove or had Taylor made. Saved pelts. Life was good and I'm repeating it here.
WOW, that’s incredible!
Amazing , What a Testament of what you Can Do , Family is 1st n the True Story of a life fulfilled by intentionally Growing to Live Happy n Healthy😉💭❗... Good for you n your family 😍🌞💖❗
Thanks for sharing your journey back to the simple ways and sharing your truth. The Light has won, do not despair. It's through people like us who have had our eyes opened and shine that light for others to see that we will prevail over the Darkness. Together without fear, we are stronger. Keep the Faith!
My experience with the shock collars it seems to be something percieved as "weird" by my dogs... closer to a TENS unit and not quite fearful. Has worked great! Even our timid little girl responds well not fearful towards the "target" :-)
We need more people like you!
Thank you for sharing this and showing the things you experience in life.
Looking for a man like you.
So happy to see your success!
I agree with you I'm 67 years old and you are right keep up the good work
IIRC kudzu is very high in resveratrol, the beneficial compound in grapes, red wine, etc.
Missed the Livestream by 5mths --- now 1.5 hrs in --- still slaying it 🤺💫🙏 TY❤️🔥👏
I knew Northern Scrogger was going to join the team when he was upgrading his gear to AC Infinity!!! What a great addition he also does so much for the community just like AC Infinity and team!
Yes, keep trying to help people realize that they need to prepare!Thankyou for the truth and all the information about your farm. I'm in agreement about Jesus too. I love the sything; there is a flow with it that is very calming; great exercise too. Keep up the great videos!
Oh yeah and sweet potato slips will last. I have one that I threw outside the back yard that had grown roots in the pantry. Well I was really surprised, to see it looked so perfect to plant, month's later, here in NE Vic Australia for these past four or five month's 😊
We had a 275-acre dairy farm milked 200 head of cows... my dad started the chemical farming got cancer and died so I try to go all organic if I can
Bermuda grass is the curse of my existence it has established itself so well on my lawn it is really hard to get rid of everywhere we want to garden
The eyebrows got my attention. I commented to my daughter, "looks like 2 black caterpillars on steroids".
Joke aside, your knowledge on gardening is rich. Your awareness of global deception and domination is right on. It irks me tremendously that so many people are deceived, even Christian believers, but I am learning to come to grips with it whilst I continue to share the good news of the Gospel.
Thanks for imparting such valuable knowledge of planting techniques.
I reside in rural, beautiful Jamaica.
Thank you for speaking the Truth, omgoodness what a refreshing....God bless you and yours !
So good to know about the celery and the sodium nitrates. Thank you Steven.
It’s hard convincing my husband we should raise other then chickens.
Me too! We moved to a new house with 3-acres & my husband always wanted to raise pigs. I'd love to have chickens again. We have room for a few animals, but he refuses.
This video! I have watched it twice and am sharing it with everyone. BRAVO! I am stuck in commiefornia because I am not willing to leave my young grandchildren but when they are older I will be moving to TN. THANK YOU for talking about EVERYTHING you talked about. From the lies about the poison jabs, the death of farmland, freedom and most important, God. Keep spreading these messages.
please don't wait. just go.
Love luffa. The different species of bees and wasps were amazing last year. Even if you don't care about the luffa itself, grow it for the bees!
I missed your videos.
Keep telling the truth. Some will never see it but some are waking up.
Those peppers are unbelievable. Well done!
You could grow sunflowers. They are beautiful and you can dry the seed heads to give to your chickens.
After hearing about your beliefs you're now my favorite. Appreciate you bro!
Just moved to 40 acres! Trucked in load after load of woodchips, barely scratched the surface. I sprinkled cold weather cover seeds around my house and started watering, and the bees must've come for miles just to see what i was doing!! 😅 (Actually, they may be my neighbors bees) 🐝
Wow you are a very intelligent young man❤. I really enjoyed watching and listening to your video-I HAD not seen any of your previous video’s but look forward to following your journey fro now forward. You touched on so many different topics that I ami in total agreement with THANK YOU ❤
I’ve never been an ostrich. Thank you for covering all aspects of what we are all facing.
I raised my daughter, who was unable to nurse, on 1/3 raw goats milk, 1/3 carrot juice, 1/3 water and a little bit of celery juice (for folic acid). Raw goat milk is nutritionally the closest thing to mother's milk!
I got the recipe from a doctor and nutritionist. She has been and is very healthy!
I knew a Beautiful baby Girl who couldn't nurse and couldn't handle dairy. The Dr that her Grandfather had seen advised pure apple juice ( watered down by boiled water) because unfortunately She was so intolerant of the Formula's available.
I saw that beautiful Baby grow up and become a beautiful Woman, who everyone adored, because of the way She was. RIP Beautiful Tamara till Everyone who loved You sees You in the Kingdom.
100% agree with you. Keep posting.
I mix table salt, sea salt & Himalayan pink salt together. The pink salt has 82 minerals naturally. Sea salt may have some nattural iodine.
The US & Switzerland started adding iodine to salt in 1924 because large amounts of the population had iodine deficiency goiter & or hypothyroidism. The US military were turning away large amounts of recruits because they had this iodine deficiency.
Adding iodine to table salt fixed the problem quickly.😊
I admire your insights and yes, trust God. I'm 60, looking forward , God willing, to moving to our Cabin soon. I plan on growing many herbs, making tinctures alongside my garden. Love your tour
Thank you for sharing! This is great information! I’m always trying to learn more and make my garden more productive, and learn more about raising my chickens. God bless you for sharing your faith as well as your knowledge and experience. ✝
Your perspective resonates deeply 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
I am so so thankful that I found your channel.
I imagine a bath buried just a little ways below earths surface, with a linen or cheesecloth tarp above it for filtering fresh water from a natural source through & also working as an umbrella while relaxing in the fresh water bath with a fire underneath or close by
I’m a market gardener in Cleveland Tn.Welcome. I agree with your worldview and appreciate you sharing what condition the world is in. Keep it up. I’m in my 3rd year of regenerative gardening and my soil is responding positively. I would like to make contact with you. Reply if you’re interested
So glad to see u again, watched while I were still in Mom s backyard... Agree with everything ur saying... Welcome... U found a great PC property..... BTW plz make sure volume
Some of your politics are bat shit crazy, but I appreciate the farming info.
I appreciate you being able to separate the two!
You should do the same. Thanks
Amen Brother 🙌‼️ I’ve watched this video twice. Keep speaking truth💖
What a beautiful world!.Thank you for sharing! A real education, .On wards to health & Prosperity. What a pleasure to listen away from the B , everything from the un naturals
Thanks for a great video. So, I have about 18 cu. yds. of leaves coming later in the month. My garden is 1760 sq. ft., currently I have cover crop planted on it. What do you think of this plan: In the spring, I'm going to cut the cover crop, then spread 3" of leaves over it and cover that with 5.3 ounce weed fabric. I'll plant through holes in the weed fabric and let the leaves along with the cut cover crop decompose over the spring/summer. I already have some pretty good soil which started as hard clay. I want to continue to feed it and I have no place to store the leaves except on my garden. Am I crazy or might this work?
Thanks for sharing this. Amazing real world information.
You're awesome! I love what you have to say.
You work so hard to build your dreams!
Respect, man. Trying to get there. These videos help
Couldn’t agree with everything your saying !❤ great video from one sandiean to another. Now in KC area new to farming/homesteading as well
you're my kind of people my Friend, I endorse and support like minded people, would be a pleasure to meet you someday if I'm ever aloud to travel without getting jabbed,, Love from BC, Canada
My 47 chickens are free range I feed the nothing except a couple scraps here and there if they're available but I don't go out of my way I have a bucket There's a bunch of holes drilled into it that I put animal droppings in and it drops fly larva on the ground for them to eat for protein and they have never laid more eggs till now.... They look more filled out/healthier as well...eggs are deep pumpkin orange in color now 😊
I was wondering what was up. I remember the episodes with your mom and thought that episode was very nice and informative
This is amazing!
I'm from the Pacific Northwest and I think some Douglas Firs would be nice there. They make so much shade and get so tall and grow so fast like a weed
Good for you. Just watch you at the pick your flower farm very informative.
I recently found out we scrub our skin too hard….skin doctor recommends washing with hands and soap…not wash cloths!
I love my luffas for dish washing.
The south is definitely a special place
