- Hello Everyone, Today's video consists of a visual of another "U" route: The U2!
This superb route is operated by Metroline West from Uxbridge [UX] Garage. It goes from Uxbridge Station, Uxbridge College, Hillingdon Station, Leybourne Road, Hillingdon Heath, Hillingdon Hospital and then Brunel University. The journey was very smooth. I would like to thank the amazing driver for letting me film at the front; it took us only like 33 minutes to complete the route start to end because we got thrash. I had a great discussion with the driver about the whole U1/U2/U3/E7 merger/extension/cut, and how we was against those changes which I do understand because merging the U1 and U3 would destroy the link between Hillingdon Hospital & Brunel University. This is because if U2 was actually extended to West Drayton, Brunel Uni would only have 2 routes: U4 & U7. U7 is infrequent and the U4 would obviously get too overcrowded. Both of us were happy that the TFL proposal didn't go ahead as he describes how hectic U3 can get and how tiring the route is. So Imagine now they extended the route to Ruislip; as he also drives the U1, U3, U4 & the 114.
However, TFL decided to make the U2 run along Leybourne Road at all times (via: Ryefield Avenue and Grosvenor Crescent); instead of running the full length of Windsor Avenue. This change will happen soon. A date is not confirmed yet which is why I did the route between 9AM-4PM to film the permanent section. An Ex-First Bus (YX58FOP) came, but because of the barrier, I didn't even bother asking the driver, so I just waited 10 mins for the next bus. In my opinion, I feel like the U2 should become a circular route following the U4 towards Uxbridge because if you look at it from a map, it is almost in the shape of a circle. They could re-route the U7 towards Iver & Langley after serving Hillingdon Hospital I guess lol. The route is going to get EV's in October 2024 so yeah. After filming the U3 & re-doing the U5, all "U" routes will be completed.

The loop is weird imo, but it does help. At least the residents have the 278 to travel down Hillingdon.
@@LB141ADWG I wouldn't recommend the U2 for students, I would tho recommend it for Uxbridge College students as only the U2 stops there. However the U2 is only for its locals and isn't meant to go directly to Brunel University, I would recommend taking the U4 U1 or U7 to get to Brunel

According to LVF, TE1749 - SN09GCO has done it once on the 15/05/2015. However, the U2 literally never has DD's. U1 & U7 gets them mainly.

@@jtransportbuses the E400s are blinded for U2 but U2 is full DD operation there has never been a time where its been on a double decker
