Full Route Visual | London Bus Route 696 - Hayes, Brne Ave to Bishop Ramsey Sch | (ADE40436) YX62BXF

- Hello Everyone, today's video consists of a school bus route 696. It is a really unique and useful school route and I saw that the demand for a route visual for this route was very high, so I woke up early in the morning of April 2024 to film this route.
Anyways, the 696 is operated by London United RATP using mainly Enviro400's from Hounslow [AV] Garage. The route previously used to have a Scania Omnicities & Dennis Trident's which have sadly been withdrawn overtime. So AV just tend to use any available buses that they have. If I had waited for the second bus (last one), then I would have caught a Gemini 3 B5LH. However, the bus wasn't logged on LVF at that time so I didn't know. The route goes from Hayes Bourne Avenue, Hayes & Harlington Station, Hayes End, Yeading, Northolt, South Ruislip, Ruislip Gardens, Ruislip (West End Road), Ruislip Manor Station & Hume Way (for Bishop Ramsey School). The route is nice, linking places across West London and interchanging London Borough's in between Ealing & Hillingdon. The route follows the U4 to Hayes Town, then it follows the 90 up until Yeading Lane and it goes it's own way whilst joining the E6 along Glencoe Road. Then it follows the E7 up until Ruislip. I mean this route is evidential proof that the E7 can use Double Deckers, but they just do not. I heard TFL were going to DD the E7 if the extension to Hume Way was approved, but it wasn't lol.
I find this route really weird because there is a massive gap between Ruislip Rugby Football Club and Ruislip Manor Station, it doesn't even serve Ruislip Station. However, you can still catch the Metropolitan Line and Piccadilly Line from Ruislip Manor Station anyways which is understandable. However, it should serve Ruislip Station to provide links there as well, or follow the E7 during it's daytime shopping hours along Wood Lane.
Well, this wasn't an easy visual to film because the journey was long. It took me 1 hour & 10 minutes to film this. The school kids were extremely chaotic because they were screaming so loud and cussing every 5 seconds. But they weren't as crazy as the 688 & 697 kids because them lot were throwing books, metal water bottles and hitting the seats for dust. I did hear that Metroline West are going to take the 697 from Uxbridge [UX] Garage in September.
The reason why I left this route up until now is because of the consultation. I didn't want to edit the route without the accurate information. Because what if the E7 was extended, then it would have annoyed me that the information was inaccurate.

Surprisingly not. They were just talking amongst their friends to why I was filming the route lol, whilst staring at my camera at the end. 🤣
