- Our hearts go out to those lost in the Lahaina Fire and the community members who lost everything. Lahaina and its community are beautiful. This is how we will remember Lahaina. Hawaii charities that are making a difference are listed below for donations. Rebuilding the homes, buildings, and businesses that have been lost is going to be a marathon. The community will need support for a long time, so please don't forget them after the news cycle moves on.

We’ve all seen the devastation caused by the wildfires in Lahaina. The footage we captured over the last few years highlights the architecture, the historical places, the banyan tree, the local restaurants, and a little of the local community. A lot of Front Street is shown as we always try to avoid filming people and homes.
We have been visiting Lahaina since we were kids and our family got the chance to live there for three years. We wish we had more videos, but we are happy to at least have this footage to share.

Thank you for helping dear Maui.
This is a beautiful tribute to all of the precious nooks a crannies of Lahaina.
Thank you for this sweet video. We were there 2 years ago, and will remember it fondly
Thanks for this great video. I like everyone else was just stunned when I heard the news. I am hoping that the Banyan tree survives. Praying for all those suffering as a result of these wildfires all over the islands. I am hoping they rebuild the town back to what it was before the fires.
Skip United Way one. The big organizations are not helping. I heard the food bank is doing a good job. So is hungry homeless heroes doing a good job.
It's an unimaginable tragedy. The people made Lahaina what it was. Beautiful tribute. ❤
My heart is filled with sadness! To me it feels like a loved one passed away. When I was there in June, I had no idea it would be the last time we’d see it. So devastating! Bless the people of Maui/Lahaina!! ❤
As much as my blood family so truly matters I love them, my heart mourns for Maui more than anything ever in my life😢Maui and my Hawaiian family are my ohana with no choice of anyone because the mana and kindness of Aloha of Maui brought us together.
I grew up in Lahaina and moved away after high school I've walked Front Street thousands of times. Thank you for posting this. It almost feels like I'm there once again walking through our beloved Lahaina
A beautiful tribute to a beautiful place with beautiful people. Our hearts are aching for you from Canada. Love and strength.
Hope that the Banyan tree survives and makes a huge come back, my heart felt prayers, thoughts and hopes shine bright for Lahaina and Maui! The Aloha Spirit shall always Live on!!!! : )
I'm really wishing that banyan tree pulls through too! It will be a symbol for years to come.
I hope so too! When that big beast of a banyan tree pulls through, I know all the Hawaii, Maui, and Lahaina residents will recover and flourish with renewed spirits!
@@TheHawaiiVacationGuideI heard today the arborist that examined it said there is hope for it.
the arborist said the other day there is still sap in the tree, so has hopes it will survive. Saw a video where a water truck was hosing the tree down, I guess to cool it off and give it water. Be nice place to put that memorial to the people who perished where that old court house was next to the banyan tree. Great location, everyone visits there.
A symbol of hope for so many ❤🌈
The sense of grief is so overwhelming. We stand with the people of Maui. You are beautiful and you will come back stronger than ever.
Yes Lahaina just taking a brief rest going to come awake more strong. And the islands and kanaka can rejoice🌈💖🤙🏽🌸
The world of peoples who obviously love and respect Maui can rejoice. For this I and many feel blessed and take comfort
What a gorgeous town it was. My deepest condolences to everyone in Maui. There are no words for a loss this profound.
When I first heard of the fires in Lahaina Town, my heart broke; still does. So many loves lost and so many treasures are no more. My wife and I have found, wonderful memories that stay with us from going to Lahaina in our travels. I really hope they rebuild in Hawaiian tradition and not fall into developers who just want another seaside mall. All my prayers to the families and first responders who are on the front lines. The Aloha spirit is with you; all love, all respect to the resilient people of Hawai'i
fully agree, they can rebuild the town with old looking buildings (with sprinklers of course) and make the town look similar to what it was. I am afraid there will be some plaza in the center named for some rich clown, and then some high rise waterfront condos plus a disturbing looking outlet type mall
My heart aches for the community of Lahaina. I am in agreement with you. We've only had the pleasure of visiting once (last year) and have (had) plans for this coming winter. I pray when the rebuilding happens, that the kanaka and the kamaʻāina have 100% say and 100% benefit, that the restoration is truly that and not gentrification by developers and corporations with an eye on updating/modernizing to be another resort area and making over the community to where the kanaka and the kamaʻāina cannot afford to live. As we learned from many we talked to last year, it was already hard enough.💔💔💔❤️🩹❤️🩹❤️🩹❤️❤️❤️
Dear Lahaina. Malama Maui. She has nurtured so many of us; now she needs our love and help.
I'm seeing more ships in Kailua-Kona this week. Please stay safe, everyone.
I've had to stop twice so far because my heart gave out. I swear I will get to the end of the video - seeing so many places we walked, ate, shopped - the boats we day-tripped on, the people, the people. Thank you for digging into your archives to make this. I know it must have been hard for you. I love it. I hate it.
I couldn't finish the video. I stopped because I was crying so hard, but one day when I can look at this again, I will do so, and I am glad that these memories are preserved of the town we all loved so much.
I have not even been to Maui (yet), but just heartbreaking what happened@@TheOriginalMarimoChan
Heartfelt reminder to appreciate every day, every loved one and this beautiful planet we live on. Praying daily for your family and for those lost, their grieving loved ones and those who will rebuild Lahaina with respect to its past.
So true no matter where you live.
Having never been to Maui, it was hard for me to know what I was mourning. The lives lost and the trauma experienced by so many is beyond terrible and sad. This tribute video has broken my heart and shown me why the people of Lahaina and the town are so incredibly special. Thank you Jordan & Erica.
So much sadness, prayers for all.
Aloha, anyone who ever saw this beautiful place will never forget it. The people were friendly, the food was good, the art was beautiful, the history of the citizens of Lahaina Maui will be forever remembered by anyone who was fortunate enough to walk those beautiful roads. May the Banyon tree flourish as it did the days of the Royal Ancestors. Maui Strong❤🙏
I was there in April. I’m devastated. We had a beautiful time in Lahaina and in Maui in general. Many prayers from all of us on the mainland. Hope you all are doing ok.
What a quaint and amazing place. Very, very, tragically sad--and our hearts hurt for them so very much. Sending prayers and we've already donated. Just the grimmest of tragedies.
Thinking about every one in Maui. My heart breaks for everyone there. Can’t wait visit Maui someday
Wonderful heart warming images of the Lahaina we all knew and loved! Aloha will create a new Lahaina for us to enjoy in future days. Prayers for all in this time of recovery and regeneration.
This really breaks my heart. We've been to Maui so many times. All the happy memories of walking on Front Street, our boys playing under the Banyan tree, having lunch or dinner right by the water, the warmhearted people. I just can't believe it's all gone. Now so much suffering and misery. I hope Lahaina rises from the ashes and that sometime in the future be the charming, fun, welcoming, kind place it once was. Always in our hearts. Sending good wishes from Los Angeles.
It's so sad what's happening in Maui right now. It's an amazing place and I hope it will recover from this. I'm glad you guys are safe!
Thank you ... for the video. I visited Lahaina for the first time in 1982 at 11 years old .. then again in 1983. My wife and I have made multiple trips since then. I told my wife when we married (honeymoon in Kaanapali) my plans when we had children. I told her that I had made a promise to myself that when I had children I would take them to Maui and Lahaina when they were around the same age I was when I first had the experience (so they would remember). I am SOOO glad we did. I have 3 children ... 22, 20 and 14 and they were all fortunate enough to be able to experience Lahaina ... the way it was. I am in tears watching this video ... unimaginable. Thank you for the tribute.
your message has me in tears. so emotional right now. thank you for sharing.
Thank you so much for this video! We were on Maui and in Lahaina two weeks before the fires. Our daughter took a surf lesson at the break wall. We have pictures from our last night at the harbor. It’s is heartbreaking. We have donated to the Maui Food bank and hope to return someday to Maui.
thank you for donating! the Maui Food Bank is an excellent organization
🌸🌸🌸Thank you for this lovely video. May Maui and it’s people stay strong and come back stronger than ever. Prayers and love to all 🌸🌸🌸
I wish good people of Maui stay strong! Kind regards from Serbia!
My late wife and I took the Hawaii cruise in 2018 and got to see the beauty in Lahaina and Kihei. One of the most beautiful places, ever. This whole situation as tragic as it is, also brings back memories when my wife was still here and how much she loved Maui. Mahalo and much love to all involved. I’ve made a couple of contributions but we feel helpless here in Massachusetts to do much more.
thank you for donating! I'm glad you were able to visit
Jordan and Erica, so many of us are praying for you all on Maui. Your videos have helped us to better explore your beautiful islands and experience the Aloha Spirit. We grieve with all and want to help as you all try to recover. God Bless you all!
Thank you for this wonderful ode to Lahaina. She will always have a place in so many of our hearts
My daughter was born here. We lived in HI for 6 yrs. 2 yrs on Maui. We lost everything during Hurricane Inniki on Kauai. My heart aches for people on Maui. 😢❤😢

Visited Lahaina and Maui in the 80’s, it was like paradise wanted to move there, but family was all back in the states. I’m heartbroken for Maui and praying God gives them all they need to get Maui back to the beautiful paradise it was! The people are so very nice and king, God bless Maui!

Just Beautiful… thank you so much again~•🌺🍃🙏🏼
I can't stop crying now for what these beautiful people have been put through.
I spent the summer I turned 17 on the island playing water polo with Team Maui. I love Lahaina and got a henna tattoo on Front Street that I tattooed once I was old enough. Bless these families. 😢
It’s hard to find the words to express the sadness. so I’ll send my love to the people of. Maui. Maui holds a special place in our hearts, we made some beautiful memories there.
We had reservations for our 1st trip to Hawaii & chose Maui and were going to stay in Lahaina. It is still so hard to believe the devastation it suffered. your video shows what a nice town it was & it will be again! Our hearts go out to all of those whose lives have been turned upside down.
Beautiful! I lived in Lahaina 40 years ago. Best time of my life. Paradise lost. So, so sad...
What beautiful memories and exactly how I want to remember Lahaina. I am in tears over what has happened and am still trying to come to terms that its just gone.
I have never been to a Maui but I can see this was such a beautiful and cozy area. I am tearful about what happened to all of these people. My heart goes out to all that have lost loved ones and their homes. Prayers for all of you. 🙏🏻
Amazing! You nailed it ! Made all about the town... for all who've been... and all whom never got to. well done, this is a true gift.
Sending love and prayers! Stay brave, dear Hawaian people❤🙏❤🙏❤🙏❤
I mourn with those who’ve lost loved once and so many memories of a beautiful place😢. There is still hope; keep looking up ❤️
Beautiful and respectful way to honor the people of Lahaina and the aloha spirit of the islands. Thank you for putting this together and keeping us updated on how we can help with donations and resources.
Thank you for a beautiful video. I lost a piece of me when this beautiful community burned. My prayers to all.
Your little dog is so sweet. "Hattie girl"
Heartbroken 💔 visited Maui this Summer and was so happy to see the beautiful island 🏝️
Beautiful tribute. My heart breaks for the community. Sending light and love from Chicago.
The people of Maui would love to host your vacation NOW! the fire in Lahaina did not make the entire island a disaster zone. Maui depends upon tourism for sustenance, and needs you now more than ever. There is so much beauty and hospitality awaiting you! ❤
Beautifully done, as always. My family and I were there a month ago.......our first meal was at Cool Cats (famiy tradition) and our last meal was at Down the Hatch......I will truly miss Lahaina town as it was, but I feel blessed to have known it and carry it with me forever.
My heart and prayers go out to Maui and Lahaina for their loss and hope that people will give as generously as Maui has given to them. Mahalo!!
Four years ago we spent three weeks in Maui Lahaina and it was a great vacation. We spent many hours on Front Street, such a beautiful experience. We drove around the island & discovered different things to do. We went swimming at Baby beach a couple times & it was fantastic. We rented a condo which turned out to be the best thing for us. We went to the play that told the history of this beautiful state. We heard so much lovely music, ate delicious food everyday. We went on more than one boat rides & saw & listened to the whales. The people were just fantastic. Beautiful views everywhere. Of course we planned to return. But the beautiful condo we stayed at burned, just like everything on Front street. We prayed, we grieved, we tried to help in any small way we could & we wait until we can return.
Love, love, love you guys! Thank you for putting this together for us! Our deepest, heartfelt sympathy for you, your family and friends, and all of the people of Lahaina and Maui! Know that we are praying for you and asking the Lord to bring comfort, peace and healing. Your videos this past year have encouraged my wife and me to make our 40th anniversary destination Hawaii, including Maui! Our travel dates are in mid-September and our host is encouraging us to come. We want to help, not get in the way, so will be working with area ministries and churches as a way of encouraging and providing support for the wonderful people of Maui. Be blessed. Thanks again for this reminder of what was, before the fire.
that is good to hear you are still planning on going! South Maui workers need support. Have a lovely trip. We will be sharing volunteer opportunities as they open.
Glad to see you guys are ok. Please let us know if we can fly over and help in any way.
I agree. It breaks my heart for those who were lost and for those who survived. If you are coming to help, you should connect with Lahaina Baptist Church. They are doing so much to help the community, even though all but 2 of their church members lost their homes.
@@paulmoore8496 Thank you Paul. They are indeed one of the ministries we will be working with when we come! Amazing!!
Thank you for the beautiful tribute❤ My heart is broken for Maui and all of Hawaii😭💔 Out of all the islands I have visited I felt the Aloha Spirt was the strongest on Maui. Our thoughts and prayer are with you from the mainland🙏🏼💕
Such a beautiful tribute. I hope this video lasts forever so the children can see what a magnificent place they and their ancestors came from.
Thank you for this! Deepest sympathies and Aloha for the Hawaiian Ohana💔
I have so many wonderful memories of Lahaina, the loss and devastation is heartbreaking. Thank you for this.
This made me smile and sad at the same time. Much love to the people on Maui. ♥️
Thank You So Much for this video!!
It adds a couple stitches to mend the broken heart.
Hawaii Strong!!
Mahalo
Mahalo for putting this video together. This brought back a flood of warm memories from several visits to Lahaina in my past. So much looked the same yet so many new things I haven’t seen before. It’s such a shame that all of the history stored in the museums was lost. I do hope that when it comes time to rebuild they will use this video, others as well as countless photographs taken over the years to guide them. In my opinion it would be wonderful if they would rebuild the fronts of the shops back exactly as they were. It’s such a special place with the most aloha ever.
Love this tribute. Many happy memories in Lahaina town. Praying for healing.
Thank you for sharing this beautiful footage of Lahaina Maui. Godspeed their health and recovery.
this is a beautiful tribute to Lahaina - the memories, the people, the place, the history, the community. Thank you for sharing your special memories of your home town. Bless you in your recovery. I am so relieved your family is safe. Please be well, ask for help if you need it, hug each other. My heart is broken for the people of Lahaina.
Rest in peace to all who died and comfort and peace upon all the survivors.
Thank you so much for this. I literally can’t stop crying. I loved Lahaina and everything about it.
What a beautiful place. Heartbreaking that it is gone. Thank you for this video and sharing this amazing video with us the world.
What a cherished video this is. I can't believe it's gone. 😢 Prayers and love to all who are there enduring this hardship. 🙏
Beautiful. Thank you for helping us remember
Aloha from the state of Delaware. This video is a walk down memory lane for me and my husband, as we honeymooned on Maui and Kauai in 1990 and have been back five times since, most recently in May of this year. We spent a day in Lahaina, dining, shopping and socializing with others doing the same. I am so sad that Lahaina has been destroyed and so many of our Hawaiian ‘ohana have lost their lives, loved ones, homes and livelihood. So much irreplaceable history has been lost…our hope is that Lahaina will rise from the ashes and be given back to those who called it home. Be Maui Stong, everyone! A hui hou…aloha and mahalo for the memories. 🙏💖
Thank you for this beautiful tribute to a place that was so beautiful!
My thoughts and prayers to the families who have lost their lives.
I’m so sorry this had to happen this place looks magical. I have never visited hawaiii. I Would love to.
Thank You! Well done. Sad - thoughts and prayers to everyone affected.
Beautiful tribute video to Lahaina. Praying for the people of Maui. 🙏🏼
Aloha Hawaii Vacation Guide! Mahalo for showing us how Lahaina looked like before and for having this platform to support Maui! Def inspired us!👍🤙❤️
Thank you so much for posting this. I love the "bicycle view" with that cute little dog, who was also enjoying the ride and the view! I visited Maui in May, and could never have imagined that in ten weeks, this would all be gone. I did not spend a lot of time in Lahaina, but did drive through there twice, along this street and along this path. It is still so recent that I remember these buildings quite well and many of the signs on the businesses. Love, prayers and support for the Lahaina community and all of Maui. Lahaina will rise again from the ashes, just like the legendary, mythical phoenix! ❤🙏
Beautiful Lahaina memories. Alot of vegetation, plenty of green, the plants, grass and trees before the fire.
My sister lived in Lahaina until 2006, my niece born there. I spent much time there when we lived on the Big Island Hamakua Coast in the late 90s....what a beautiful tribute, it's actually making me feel just a tiny bit better to remember the incredible Aloha spirit and beauty of the souls who are no longer with us....they have crossed the Antahkarana, the Rainbow 🌈 Bridge into Paradise...we will meet them there ..God bless from Sedona Arizona 🌍🦁🏜️
Beautiful tribute from truly beautiful people and family that you are. Having been there, we know how beautiful it was, so unique and ‘old’ school. It was nice to see a full video of that beauty - our thoughts are with Maui and the people there - we love it and send a whole bunch of Aloha for the future. Thanks so much again.
Thank for sharing your amazing aerial footage & video of Lahaina! Your cute pup’s vantage points brings a smile to my face. We were just there a month ago & your guide helped us plan our trip! I will continue to pray for everyone affected by the fires. Aloha!
I moved to Lahaina for work post wildfire, helping to rebuild the town. I never got to see it so full of life. Thank you for posting this, it's a beautiful reminder of what was and what will one day be again.
My heart bleeds. I was there the last week of April. It’s so hard for me to imagine that all of that gorgeous little town is gone. We had an amazing time there. I was think about you guys. Hopping that you are ok. I wish I could be there and do something. I’m so far away. Prayers for everyone. Love from Quebec city. 🙏 💕 😢
Surviving the fire moving hotel to hotel, not knowing where another meal will come from really sucks. Raised in Lahaina for 40 yrs. Miss it and its people, whom i will never forget. LAHAINA STRONG🤙🏽🤙🏽🤙🏽🤙🏽🤙🏽
perfect tribute -- thank you for all of your advice when we visited Maui. Because of you we enjoyed Lahaina four times in two trips to the island. So many great memories made there!
Jordan and Erica, thank you. This brought back tangible memories of our best vacations ever. Love you all. Mahalo.
Stay strong Maui from Oakville ont 🇨🇦👍
I’m sorry for your pain but we are all here to help . Stay strong Maui , we love you .
This is so beautiful! I will cherish it always!❤
No words can express this great loss. I’m so sorry to see this beautiful place destroyed.😢. Build back stronger than ever! ❤
I have so many happy memories in Lahaina. My heart breaks for all the lives lost. 💔
Wishing the best for Maui ❤
Absolutely broken hearted for the land and beautiful people.
So grateful for your guide and recommendations to visit this incredible paradise last April.
Hoping for healing in this gut wrenching tragedy!
My heart breaks for the people of Lahaina. I’ve been all around the world and Lahaina is one of my favorite places to step foot at. Thank you so much Lahaina for sharing yourself with me and my family. This isn’t the end of your history, this is part of your history. We will rebuild Lahaina, her story will carry on.
Thanks for this lovely reminder of how cool Lahaina was before the fires. One of my favorite places to visit on Maui. Thoughts and prayers to those who lost their homes, businesses and historical buildings, and RIP to those who lost their lives. I am sure the town will be rebuilt, but you can't replace generational homes and the history in the old original buildings and landscapes.
We were there I can’t believe this happen to this community.
As always, you have managed to capture the heart and soul of Lahaina. Thank you for this beautiful tribute. We send all our love and prayers to the community. Love from Montreal, Canada
Mahalo for this time capsule. It is exactly what I needed today. I will remember the nooks and crannies of this magical place of my childhood forever. This video helps.
Mahalo for posting this wonderful video. I love hearing the birds and everyday bustle. I feel so fortunate I got to visit Lahaina in 2021. My heart goes out to Maui ❤ Stay strong ❤❤
What a beautiful and special tribute. We ❤️ Maui 🤙🏼
Beautiful, moving tribute. Lahaina has a special place in my heart being part of what made me love Maui and the islands dearly after first visiting in 2012. Appreciate all y’all do to share the aloha and raise up this wonderful community during this unimaginable time. Mahalo.
Mahalo for this. Such a great tribute video!
