    At this time I feel the S1 Pro Plus is the overall Best Portable PA speaker available! I say overall because if you are willing to spend the extra $150 and slightly larger form factor and heavier weight, I think the EV Everse 8 is actually #1

    One positive/one negative of new Plus model. On the positive, they changed the line out to XLR. XLR to XLR is a more secure connection and a much more common cable to be found vs, the 1/4" TRS to XLR I was using before. On the negative side, in bright sunlight it is VERY hard to see the LCD screen, with physical knobs of S1 Pro this is never an issue. Sometimes Old School is better!

    I still have the 2 S1Pro speakers in stereo with the Sub 1 and have no plans to change Bill. all the bass I need for the space I'm in with plenty more in reserve if I need it. thanks Bill 👍

      Agree! If running the Sub1with S1Pros you will hear little or no difference with the Plus model.

    Whilst watching your many reviews on micro setups, i got hooked and got an EV everse 8 last yr and recently an EV everse 12. I am looking at a powered sub to pair with them.
    EV elx200-12sp which you've demo'ed or QSC KS212C which i am yet to see you demo in a micro setup.
    Any thoughts of which of the two subs and why?

      Glad I helped with your Everse 8 purchase! How much louder and better bass response is the Everse 12 in comparison?
      I don't have the KS112. I have the previous model, dual 12" KSub and it is incredible! At $2,000, 88 lbs and 132 dB the QSC KS112 is in the next level from the EV 12sp sub. Have you considered the Bose Sub2, which is a step up from the EV 12sp? EV also makes the ELX 200-18 64lbs, also 132dB! I love the App on the EV subs. A lot of great choices! If you need more advice, let me know your application and max price range.

      Everse 12 has slightly more bass than 8 and its louder than 8 again not much difference I could discern from home enviroment.
      I think for the benefits of the EV app and ease I will go with EV elx200-12sp.

    Wow! That's a great comparison. It does have a little more bass. I love my S1pros and i have no plans on getting rid of mine. I'm like you i use them with a sub anyway. LOL. As far as the Everse 8 i like it pretty good but i still feel it needs the sub too . But the Everse over the ELX200 - 12 is a pretty nice setup. That being said my favorite is the original Bose S1pro ove a Sub1. You just can't beat it when you put the sub in the L1 mod and let the S1pro cover the highs. LOL just my option.

      Sounds like you prefer the Bose pair over the Everse combination. Under what situation/application would you take the EV over Bose? Why keep both?

    • @shaneberckman
      @shaneberckman Před 22 dny +1

      I love having options. I am seriously thinking about getting another ELX200 12sp and Everse 8 for a stereo pair. The question why keep them both? I really like both setups. They both sound amazing but the Bose is a little smaller setup and the EV is a little louder setup maybe. I'm going to compare the two setups outside because I have only played them side by side inside. Plus I guess I am a speaker hoarder 😅 oh and I have a feeling I might pick the Everse over the Bose is with no sub and we will see but mabe outside.

      @@shaneberckman A pair of Everse 8's over ELX200-12 sp's is an amazing set up! From one speaker hoarder to another, EV Everse 12 on the USP truck as we speak! My only problem, where do you store them all? I don't want to keep them in the garage. Would love to see a shoot out, Everse 12 vs Soundboks 4.

      @shaneberckman Před 17 dny

      @WWeiss-nv5vz I am with you. I am running out of space but the show must go on. LOL I am thinking a set of Everse 8s and 2 ELX200 12SP s with be a very nice rig for a compact setup. I was wondering if you were going to get a Everse 12. I am thinking about it too! I really like the Soundboks 3and was thinking about getting a Soundboks 4 but I'm with you about wanting to see the Everse 12 vs Soundboks 4. Because I'm not sure about buying both especially since I have 2 Soundboks 3s and a go. LOL 🤣 these are real decisions to a speaker hoarder. LOL

    How is the bass on the s1pro? Is it good booming bass? Or is there a way to add a sub?

    • @WWeiss-nv5vz
      @WWeiss-nv5vz  Před 28 dny

      The bass on the S1Pro is just ok. S1 Pro Plus bass has been improved. Yes you can line out to a sub on either model. Adding a dedicated sub brings the performance to the next level! czcams.com/video/Op_lbsz45Yc/video.html

    Maybe it’s just me, but I can’t even tell what speakers plane? I don’t see the hat moving in the camera. Focus is on the pro plus every time I am confused by this comparison.

    S1 pro has a lot more Mid tone than the pro plus. Pro plus has slight bass than S1 pro. From my point, it's a small speaker so you definitely need the mid tone to pop on when you pair it with a Subwoofer

    I went guitar center I think the bass on everse 8 sounded weaker more and less sound profound to the s1 plus.ive even ask the guy there at guitar center he said s1 sounded better speaker.

    • @WWeiss-nv5vz
      @WWeiss-nv5vz  Před měsícem

      Took a lot of EQ ing to get the Everse 8 to outperform the Bose. Bose out of the box is plug and play!
