The sweater you are making for your mum is absolutely delicious! I know she will love it even more because you cared so much to make it for her. ❤

Hi Genny, your Stor Stormur is beautiful and I'm sure will be a warm hug for your mom all winter. I come and go with socks; am off of them at the moment and have never been completely enchanted. I do love Kate Atherley though. Thanks for the heads-up about the John Arbon event. I hope your work trips goes smoothly and the weather is not too hot (I'm also intolerant of heat, which used to be fine, living in Oregon, but.....things have changed). Please don't pressure yourself about posting, or what you're knitting, or what you imagine expectations are....as you say, it's about the joy of making things!

Your comments are always a boost to read, Constance! Thank you for the kind words ☺ It looks like the weather is actually set to drop here next week which is very good news (but also makes me wich I'd packed some of my knits!). I hope Oregon stays cool for you. Summers are definitely more of a challenge than they used to be!

So lovely to see you’ve discovered the joy of sock knitting. I always have a sock project going next to a larger project, for the moments when I don’t have the brain space for the larger project (like a lacy top currently on needles) or to take with me when I have to leave the house. Plus, the rhythm of socks - knit, knit, knit, knit, MAGIC!, knit, knit…. - is just lovely.
I’ll be interested to see how the bespoke toe holds up. I have one pair of definite foot socks - a cable running up the outside of each foot - and the rest are interchangeable. I always think that switching out over that toe pressure point would increase sock longevity, but the footed ones have been going strong for years so… who knows?
Wishing you easy, happy, and safe summer travels.

I love your transcription of sock knitting! "knit, knit, knit, knit, MAGIC!, knit, knit" was exactly my experience! So much fun. I think I am going to be joining you as a knitter who always has a pair on the needles. Your thought about being able to swap socks around to even out wear on pressure points is definitely a good one too. Part of me really hopes the bespoke toe works well because it is just so neat, but at least either way darning isn't too difficult. Wishing you a happy summer back ☺

Hi Dorothy! Your Tomten Pullover was also looking beautiful last time you updated about it. I'm glad we're both still plugging away on our colourwork sweaters even as the weather changes. I'm glad you're keeping on with your knitting notebook too ☺

Hello. Enjoyed your video. I am going on holiday for a few weeks over the summer and am hoping to knit lots of socks , so this put me in the mood! A tip for those who poke holes in the toe of their socks: keep you toes nails cut short. Best wishes, Laura x

Hi Laura ☺ Thank you for your lovely comment. I am so glad you're excited about socks -- I am working on my second pair as I type this and am still completely loving the process! My toes seem to poke holes in my socks no matter how short (and blunt) I try to keep my nails 😅 but that is a very good hint and a great reminder. I hope you have a lovely holiday! x

Why would you require “Less intro,” when there is absolutely no need to watch the intro? Just move along to the content you would like to see. Not every thought needs to be expressed through your keyboard. 😃
