    Doc Paul losing his license to practice is very reflective of the society we now live in!! Ridiculous !! Good is evil and evil is good 😤

      I agree but he could get in trouble without saying he's now unlicensed. I never had a problem with giving any of my babies Tylenol.

      I fully agree with you. Sadly, our legal officials could care less how many years you've practiced. All they care about is if you're currently licensed or not. So he has to inform everyone he is retired/no longer actively licensed with each video going forward.

      @nas_775 Před 3 měsíci +5

      Yh I’m a med student myself, so I understand licensing and everything but yes just because he doesn’t have a license now he has too always point it out which I think is unfair to a large extent.

    My 34-weeker was hospitalized with bronchiolitis at 2 weeks, and again at 7 weeks with RSV. She was transferred to our closest university hospital for what felt like the longest week long stay. Her recovery was pretty uncomplicated-- she didn't need any supplemental oxygen or anything but was retracting. I was sent down to register her after we arrived by ambulance, only to come back up to the infectious disease floor with the nurse carrying her around the hallways. To make it worse, she didn't have an arm band at that time. I pitched a fit.
    She ended up with thrush, which complicated breastfeeding for a couple weeks. Luckily, she was nothing like my oldest-- she was fine taking a bottle.
    She's 16 now, and by far my least complicated child healthwise! I can count on one hand the number of times she's had to go to the doctor since those early days.

    In March 2020 my 5 week old got RSV bronchiolitis. I still remember watching him struggle to breathe. Fast respiratory rate, skin retractions at the ribs and clavicles, nasal flaring, head bobbing and I remember his oxygen going down to 63%. He ended up getting flown by medevac to a larger children’s hospital and was admitted to pediatric ICU for almost 2 weeks. It was incredibly traumatizing. There is nothing worse than watching your child suffer.

    I had RSV for the first in my life this past Christmas. 41 one years I managed to dodge even working around kids for so many years. I got it from a friend who works in a daycare. One of the toddlers was brought in with mom knowing she had it. Didn’t bother to tell anyone that was sick. She got more than half of the center sick with it. My friend unknowingly exposed people to it. Being asthmatic things tend to turn into bronchitis for me. And this did. I was out for 10 days. I think I slept for 4 days straight. The only time I remember being that sick was when I had Covid 3 years ago.

    My daughter had RSV about 21yrs ago. She survived & got through it but they say the reason she has Asthma now is because of the damage RSV caused to her lungs. Back then the treatment wasn't as updated so they kept her in the hospital for about 2 weeks. I assume cause they didn't have the treatments for it that they do now & her having it as long as she did is why her lungs have scars the way they do. The good news is her lungs have healed quite a bit sense childhood, but it has been a bit of a rough time with some Asthma issues throughout the years. So make sure u keep a eye on her breathing, especially when she is being active outside! So glad your Baby Girl is healthy & made it through the way she did, God Bless!!! 🎉❤

      My son had RSV a few weeks ago, he was 10 days old. He was hospitalized for 8 days. The doctors said that despite years of research, they still have no treatments for RSV. The only thing they could do is give oxygen and help if a baby has trouble feeding and wait for it to pass. There was another baby there who had been there for 2 weeks. He had a lot of trouble feeding and needed oxygen. The doctors said that children who are more prone to asthma will be more likely to have bad cases of RSV. So we will see if my son has asthma later on.

    Great video, you’re great with kids. Just an FYI, A child exposed to colds and viruses earlier in life will develop a stronger immune system and is less likely to become sick in his or her later years.
    In Iceland they’ve let babies sleep outside in the cold without any problems. For decades, if not much longer. With only benefit of children with stronger immune systems.

    I truly wish fever reducers were not scary for new moms. I was not a huge fan of giving my kids medicines when they were babies, but it was even worse to see them in pain from a fever or teething... knowing a couple doses of acetaminophen or ibuprofen could help them was my sanity... Happy to report I have two very healthy teenagers.
