  • In this video I show you how to detail faster. Not a complete guide but you can see my process. I'm very interested in detailing faster because time is money. Even though this is a tutorial or show of my process I'm still learning and I think I have a lot of room to improve.
    This truck was kinda trashed it wasn't a complete disaster but there was pet hair, sand, dirt, and all sorts of crumbs in all the cubby holes. So it was no easy detail. I spent 4 hours on this truck inside and out doing a premium detail. Which is not my highest-level pack of interior cleaning but it's my most popular package. I specialize in removing seats and doing crazy 12 hour details. So this is sort of a quick package. Basically I'm trying to give the customer the most value with this package time wise and detailing.
    It took me about 4 hours to complete this detail. Just a little bit longer but I took a couple short breaks. It was 4 hours of non stop detailing for sure. Which is pretty good time for a crew cab truck and just a single detailer.
    This package includes:
    - Door jam cleaning
    - Vacuuming with agitation all areas
    - Surface cleaning with APC
    - Floor mats cleaned
    - Glass cleaning
    - Air Freshener
    - Palstic Dressing
    - Deep hot water shampoo
    - Steam cleaning Palsit, glass & leathing
    - Leather conditioning.
    The top main tools/techniques to help me detail faster are:
    Tornador
    Tornador max with velocity
    Paint spray gun for applying dressing.
    Powerful shop vac
    Moving very fast and running.
    Hope you enjoy the video!

      That’s funny you say that. I do need more tables and carts so I can have stuff closer to the vehicles. Just making more money before I make those purchases.

      @@ToddLandholm-ch2ng I got a table today and I did a trashed crew cab sierra in 3 hours. Full shampoo. No exterior wash. But it was so bad. I don’t know if that time really counts because it was border level disaster and I didn’t do an exterior wash. Full shampoo though.

      @@ToddLandholm-ch2ng absolutely. Making these videos is great for myself I can see my mistakes easily when I make the video. Yesterday I did a disaster truck with shampoo in 3 hours, no exterior wash, after I fine tuned some issues with my technique.
      Basically spend less time vacuuming. In this video I spent a lot of time playing around with the max velocity now that I’ve used it a few times I don’t take as long.
      I also got one table so I can bring all my tools right to the vehicle. I would like another table though.

    My only tip brother is I don't personally think you even needed to turn the steam cleaner on for this one. You could've did the same job a lot faster with some microfiber towels and PolStar leather cleaner by Koch Chemie

    • @JoshJecklinDetailing
      @JoshJecklinDetailing  Před měsícem

      Thanks for the tip. For sure I almost never use my steam cleaner. I just use it when I feel like it or for the videos. Trust me I know the steam cleaner is slow. That’s why I almost never use it.
      I would use it if the customer requested it or there was lots of candy stains.
      I prefer to shoot Chem with a tornador max.

    That looks like you detail out of your home garage. How does that work? Why not mobile detail? Does the customer bring their truck to you?

    • @JoshJecklinDetailing
      @JoshJecklinDetailing  Před měsícem +6

      Yes it’s my home garage. It works great. No issues with the customers. They either get a ride to pick them up or I shuttle them. In 1-2 weeks I’m going to buy a curtsey car.
      I don’t do mobile because mobile has soo many drawbacks backs for the detailer. Main reason is you could potentially be in the customers drive way for up to 3-6 hours and that would be super annoying. No bathroom. No 💨 breaks. All the other issues like that.
      Also with mobile you have to be careful of the clients house. Detailing makes a huge mess. I don’t mind leaving my driveway messy for detailing. That would be awful to detail a vehicle then have to clean the customers driveway 🤣
      Also finally I have a lot of big tools. I need to run a big generator for all my tools. My commercial steam cleaner is 240v. Even though I don’t use my steam cleaner anymore. Too slow.
      I would go mobile but only for maintenance jobs. 1-2 hours max.
      Hope that helps.

    Gotta be vrp or some other kina water based dressing that you've diluted to use in your sprayer I do the same thing

    • @JoshJecklinDetailing
      @JoshJecklinDetailing  Před 2 měsíci +1

      Thanks for the tip. I actually did commit to a larger dressing purchase to save money. I bought Meguiars hyper dressing 1 gallon size and I dilute it 4 to 1.
      Took me a bit commit because the upfront purchase seems expensive but you save soo much money.
      The gallon size hyper dressing is $150 CAD right now so I was skeptical at first but now that I’ve bought it. I’m a believer.

    • @JoshJecklinDetailing
      @JoshJecklinDetailing  Před 2 měsíci +8

      Yeah 4 hours. Big truck. Premium detail. Plus I was making a video so it slowed me down a bit. I detailed all the cracks with quality products. More than just a basic vac and wipe. Plus I finished the vehicle off with plastic dressing and leather conditioner.
      I’m still learning to go faster but for a quality job it’s a good time. Truck was pretty dirty. Had pet hair and stuff.
