That's what happens when you concentrate so much power in one place. Everything is far more interconnected, resilient and safe today, so when someone starts a war, it doesn't just shake the region; the entire world can feel its tremors as the bombs drop and the guns fire. Economies tank, supplies suffer, and reports come flooding in. In this age, war is an oddity for the weapons we have now are so advanced that they shake the foundations of the earth, and our machines make so much that taking land does more harm than good. That was why war was common back then; The bloodshed was in small amounts and had a regional effect, and taking land was guaranteed to make your kingdom stronger. Today, every conflict results in so many deaths that they are tenfold that of the battles we had in ages past. Back in time, we were but men. But now? Now, we may as well be living Gods. Forget hitting someone with lightning or a flood when we can eviscerate an entire city with the power of a thousand suns. Forget about all the power God had in the Bible, for we could destroy heavens entire army with the press of a button. If God were real, he would be held captive by us today, and we would have the devil's head on a pike for the amusement of the powerful

The English kings during that time were French, its the Plantagenets they came from Anjou wich is why historians are calling their holdings as "the Angevin empire". They are also the reason why the English language is composed of roughly 60% French/Latin vocabulary. So yeah there is almost nothing british about them, the "British/Anglo-Saxon" kings were beaten by William the Conqueror a Norman/French duc who conquered England you can see that on the map in 1066. Your kings starting to embrace the English language was with the Tudors a Welsh dynasty that came to power in the 16th century, And like i said its not the same English culture that you've had before William's conquest.

Small Correction: Before 1707, Scotland was not the not the part of the Common Wealth of England. Only England and Wales was the part. Scotland was incorporated in UK in 1707 and Ireland in 1801

What has passed has become the history,
What is happening now is becoming the history,
And what is coming is the history awaiting us to create.
The history is not just “his” “story”. It is us. We are the history.

Ik it's insignificant but there was an uprising to restore Bulgaria in 1040-1041 that started from Belgrade and captured all of Modern Serbia Kosovo and Macedonia (the region) and almost took Thessaloniki but failed and was crushed. There was another major Bulgarian uprising against Byzantium in the 1070s and 1080s that also failed.
Also the second Bulgarian empire had different borders because when the first king - Kaloyan was crowned he received the title of king of Bulgaria and Walachia.

It's a shame you didn't include any of the northern european civilisations before the middle ages but it would be a hell of a lot of work (and guesswork) so it's understandable. Great video!
