  • Matt and Jeremy gave me a hand in prepping my 2013 Mustang GT for boost with a set of Boundary Oil Pump Gears and Crank Sprocket. The extra hands really helped the process go quick (less than 6 hours). Estimated time by yourself between 11-12 hours. Even though this isn't a complete step by step install we do offer some tech tips and things to check out when doing this project yourself.
I used all OE Ford gaskets and RTV when putting the timing cover and valve covers back on.
Not covered in the video by I did install an ARP crankshaft bolt when putting the damper back on.

Absolutely a must for supercharged coyotes. I did the MMR oil pump gear and crank sprocket on mine when I had it

Nice! Are those gears billet or PM? Those tabs are the "cloverleaf" or wear tabs (useful if you have the pump install tool to set the gerotor centered before torquing the pump to the block). No official torque sequence on the pump since the bolts are all torqued at once at the factory.

Do you have part numbers for gaskets and parts needed

did you get that oil pump on without dropping the oil pan? I got mine off with oil pan on, not sure I can get that pick up tube bolt in with the oil pan on.

Yes got it on without dropping the pan. Very tedious and slow process

As much as I am a DIY guy, the fact that you have to remove the timing chains and the front engine fascia to access the oil pump, seems sort of off-limits to me. Don't want to mess up the timing when reassembling everything and catastrophically failing my engine. I wonder if an OPG upgrade is still required to run on a stock NA Coyote with stock tune, where I like to rev high.

Is the crank gear really necesary?

Absolutely NOT!I talked to a coyote engine builder that builds motors from 1000-2500 and he told me it's a gimmick. Marketing gimmick. In fact he said it's counter productive because some of those aftermarket parts will throw your timing off. I found all this out on my own with an aftermarket gear, so I stopped listening to these people on line with no experience and no real insight, and went straight to multiple experts. Once you do this yourself and you run into out of tolerance and abnormal tolerance on your equipment, which it happens all the damn time that's why shops are tooled for all this, you understand. If you do get a aftermarket, TSS has never given anybody problems. I've got a full opg/cs and roush gen 1 blower build coming soon to my channel. No brand bashing here, just truth that's taken me HOURS and HOURS to find.
