Transmission fail safe, can be trigger by something as minor as low voltage at battery or even broken brake light, but it also can be as serious as broken dsc module.
In this case, it's the ASC module.
could a broken parking light cause the transmission fail safe?

Yup it is possible because of speed sensor..my 308 already had similar problem with gearbox because of speed sensor... replaced it and walla...good to go.

Bro, I had earlier this problem was due to oil spiling out from the transmission gearbox oil seal leaking that couse i to replaced whole gearbox .oil seal leaking while on moving, stand still no leaking on the floor
oil seal leak je..and change whole gb.. no need kot..

every car also got issues due to its age , depends on person, it is worth keeping and fixing it as long u take care of it and do frequent checkup and maintenance. even the most reliable toyota, if u hantam it 99, no take care, same story rosak here rosak there
it's really less to be honest..I mean if you ever owned a used car, he doesn't seem to face alot of it and usually they are priced pretty okay as its a E39. If you compare it with a new car..adeh confirm la~
