- Rewind to January 2020, when we could be in a crowd and toilet paper was not a valued commodity: In the fan-favorite Wendy’s Knuckle Huck, X Games Aspen 2020 rookie Zeb Powell brought the style to the knuckle in both his rose-tinted glasses and snowboard style. Jumping to the top of the rankings after his coffin slide 360 method, no other rider could match his style. He also threw a cab 270 butter 630 out into a Cab 270 butter on the knuckle to pretzel 540 out and a backside 270 nosepress to Cab 630. Take a look back at the comp here!

To everyone saying Kleveland was robbed or deserved to win: This is the knuckle huck, an event based around creativity and expression. This is not some big air spin fest where the most spins with a boot grab wins. Marcus' trick was insane, don't get me wrong, but I'm so sick of snowboarding just being about who can rotate the fastest. Zeb rode with style like I've never seen and impressed every time he hit the knuckle; He deserved the hardware he walked home with.

Exactly, and that's also why Dusty won it in 2021, for that switch tail press trampoline frontflip thing. It just had so much style and jaw dropping unique expression that will and should always beat someone doing 13 spins, certainly in knuckle huck.

This trick was several years of progression beyond anything else that was done. It was as good as any other 3 tricks combine from anyone else.
I think we all know why zeb got gold. Not a knock on him at all but it’s all about the narrative especially in the political climate we’re in.

@Balzac Gemini "cameraman" on 6 different cameras?
They used the live edit which probably involves streaming from both the individual cameras and streaming of the finished product out of Aspen. This might work for large urban sport events in huge arenas, where all the connections are flawless and the budgets for equipment are gigantic.
X-Games should look into using footage locally stored in the cameras for these compilations, at least for slomo shots which needs higher frame-rates to look smooth. Especially for an event like this, with all the butters and hand drags and whatnot that create pretty sprays of snow.

Honestly with Marcus’s trick at 11:40 he should have won but Zeb’s creativity was very entertaining.

He dropped the landing during one of his tricks, so it was impossible to catch Zeb at that point. If this comp didn't count every single trick together, fo sure that was the hottest

Zeb is so sick and has a great innovative style but I think Marcus should’ve won. They were still pretty close though and I was cheerin for Zeb anyways.
I posted the same thing when it happened, now after rewatching it I still think the same thing. Marcus was #1 for me IMO

Marcus should’ve won, mainly because of his third run, which was the best executed trick and perhaps also the hardest one of all the other contestants.

At around 15:37 it seems like the frame rate drops and never gets fixed. Bummer but regardless this is such a great event and the tricks are so fun to watch.
You love to see the great energy that this event generates the good vibes. The chilling, the teaming, this is what people see in snowboarding, that is snow awesome.

I used to see Jake Canter at Copper years ago when he was like 11 or 12. Kid has so much style, I knew he would make it to the X-game eventually.
4:58 That, what I'm gonna call a lazy floor-drop, by "Fridge" was very impressive! I felt the gravity exiting the room all the way from California!
I have more fun watching these kids having fun for what they are doing showing support, friendship and skills.
The creativity in this event makes me smile every time!

Zeb's style is so insanely fun to see, it's scrappy and energetic, super creative!
In all honesty I feel like every competitor was just so stoked to be a part of this insane event. Yeah you can make a case that Marcus should have won, but Marcus didn’t seem to care that Zeb took first? I’m hard pressed for an argument against Zeb’s embodiment of the “knuckle huck” in this moment.

rewatching this made me realize how HUGE Halldor went, the man basically used the jump as a ramp for a nollie backflip. the amount of send was so unreal, he basically lands at the bottom every time.

I have an idea for another event if you're up for it. Have the riders hit the slopestyle course but the biggest spin allowed is a 720. That way they have to focus on style more than big tricks.

Marcus was and is insane, he's unreal, but i think he was treating it a bit too much like a mini big air on most of his tricks rather than flair / style...which is why he came second to Zeb imo...plus the fall at the end kinda sealed the win for Zeb...both insane on the night though love this event!
