"Well Steve knows what rock n' roll's about. He's got no idea what the equipment's about. And he knows very little in terms of technicalities. He knows what he likes."
good old pf at pompei abbey road canteen dialouge

1:16. Richard looks like he's gonna punch someone.
Communist Nigga with GIRTH Roger looks embarrassed at the sound clip
tired of everyone's shit
god, I would love to hear more of that Echoes bit. I'm hearing a guitar part I haven't previously heard, and that's from years of listening to this composition. There's so many layers to the piece, and it's all very inspiring for a musician as myself. I love it!
44 years of Dark Side of the Moon. Thank you Pink Floyd, Best thing to bestow upon humankind! Cheers and Peace!
yup
50 years and counting.
Nobody in the band seemed to thrilled about the bootleg ordeal in the video but over the years I've read numerous articles stating that they really don't care if their live shows are bootlegged and sold on the market. David was quoted as saying that he was very flattered by the idea actually. I mean the audio quality is going to be below record industry standards but there are some REALLY good sounding live shows of theirs in existence. You just have to do your homework to find them...
It would be weird for David to have a problem with bootlegging when he just released a set of 20 year old demos as a new "Floyd" album.
Impressive how strongly their manager spoke on their behalf. O’Rourke was a good one for them.
PINK FLOYD WILL NEVER DIE !!
It’s good to see Steve being interviewed. Best band ever
Who is this Steve guy? I like Pink Zfloyd but I have no idea who he is
@@drugstoredilemmas7962 Steve O' Rourke. He was their manager after Barrett left until he died in 2003
I did hear a 'bootleg' recording of 'One of These Days', it was said to have been recorded in a basement bar venue before they became the Rock n Roll Guru's they are, and sadly were. Nick, Rick, Syd, wish you were still here. I really do wish I could find it again and email David's and Roger's producers. It was amazing btw.
Nick is still alive.
steve o rourke is one of rock n rolls better manager,s, he was never a back biting swindler and he made sure he meet all 4 of our floyders means one way or another, god rest his soul
He remained Pink Floyd and David Gilmour, Nick Mason and Rick Wright's manager until his 2003 passing. Roger kept a grudge with Steve even to this day.
1:52 "Producing pop music today is sophisticated and expensive" -- as they work on a 23-minute track that got played on the radio, um, never.
Atom Heart Mother was at number 1 in the UK charts and Meddle at 3
No pop music?
Not pop music as it's usually meant today; pop as opposed to folk songs and classical pieces. Simply, music being made to be sold for a living.
their reactions, they are blessed
If Steve could have played bass, they could have put him on stage in 1987, said that was Roger and most fans would have thought it was.
They could have been brothers.
RIP Steve.
pls give whole documentary, two and a half minutes took me back to a magical place
Come on. Just give us the Live "Breathe" performance we see in the Dark Side of the Moon documentary. I need that video man
You mean this?
15 minutes of qauilty footage from Dark Side tour, includes Obscured by Clouds, Set the Controls for the Heart of the Sun, Careful with that axe Eugene, Echoes, Breathe, Time, Great Gig and Money

I know exactly what your talking about and I believe that is the standard Wembely Bootleg.
@@brockgan8941 Wembley 1974 was released in 2011 on The Dark Side of the Moon and Wish You Were Here Deluxe Editions. Echoes was on the bonus disc of The Early Years.
And now they're uploading bootlegs to Spotify. Sweet irony.
It is for copyright reasons
Imagens incríveis, deve ser espetacular assistir à esse documentário!
Look at their faces while the bootleg is playing. They're thinking this is so cool! But of course they can't say it.
Bootlegs are history. They might not sound awesome but they have their own charm. I don't know that too many people bought these records having no idea what they were getting.
Wow! Astonishing comments from the Floyd. Bootlegs is what you sells today.
Thank God for bootlegs.... the BBC material used by PF on the over priced Early Years box set is not as good quality wise as the bootleg recordings already out there.
The BBC sessions from 1971 on the box set were in Mono. The stereo mixes were eh, I rather listen to mono of the BBC stuff.
Yeah, the "Let There Beeb More Light" bootleg set is essential. The versions on the boxset are such a joke. It's laughable. It doesn't even have anything to do with stereo or mono. The early Syd stuff sounds like it was recorded through an old telephone on the official boxset, like "Set the Controls", for example. On the bootleg, it's crystal clear.
Thanks Psychedelicpiper, exactly the point I tried to make. You know your beans Sir !
The bootlegs came from Westwood One US radio and WNEW US radio sources whereas the official ones come from the BBC itself.
@@psychedelicpiper999 It has a lot to do with Stereo and Mono mixes. When Zeppelin's BBC Sessions were released, Jimmy Page did new stereo mixes.
Lol their expressions say it all!
cada día más maravillado con la historia y el material que existe sobre esta legendaria banda... AMO A PINK FLOYD!
BEST BAND EVER!!!!
I'm tempted to listen to pinky now but can't find it
Only $1000 for the original vinyl (not a joke)
It's out there under the name big pink
Interesting footage :-)
Szkoda, że nie ma więcej materiału z tej próby ze studia, gdzie grają wczesną wersję "Echoes".
Magnifique!
many cool and interesting
Nice!
Wow that live at Shea boot I’ve never seen before.
Is that David's Lewis guitar?
Isn't that the guitar he used during "Brain Damage" in the Pompeii studio clip?
Isn't that what he used to hit the high note on C. Numb?
we didget a great gig at pompii and it took till 88 to get a offical concert recording
Pink Floyd - лучшая группа!
I would like to see the complete documentary
Actually, that's the only footage about this that is on the disk (REVERBER/ATION 1971). After this there are some interviews with Storm Thorgerson about the band albums covers and some Atom Heart Mother live performances.
czcams.com/video/U4ecGsYBluI/video.html&feature=emb_logo this is the full report
Thank you
loved going round collecting boots
Ja pensou todos esses vídeos do box traduzido em Pt-Br... Eh soh um sonho :(
this is fucking rare

lol Without bootlegs, much of the material on the Early Years boxset wouldn't have been possible. Funny how that works out that way. I do agree about improving the quality, though, and there are many bootlegs out there with high quality live material. I actually feel there weren't enough bootlegs of the early Floyd.
Everything on the Early Years boxset was officially recorded, had nothing to do with bootlegs
@@patricksommer3971 Nah, the Stockholm gig was originally recorded by an audience member, and it was first heard as a bootleg. "Scream Thy Last Scream", "Vegetable Man", "In The Beechwoods", "Lucy Leave", and "I'm A King Bee" were all only available through bootleg, and weren't officially released until 2016.

"I used to record different bands and I asked Pink Floyd's manager if I could record them. He said: OK, just promise you won't make anything bad with it."
The taper of the show. so it was kind of an official recording
Also, cassettes were a new thing in 67 (the first music cassettes were sold in 65), so this was recorded with a reel to reel tape machine. You CAN'T hide such a big thing.
pink floyd rules
Brighton Dome 1972 footage please!!!
Rc1 67 www.dailymotion.com/video/x3dl9um
Jordan Perry I see that video but its just careful with that Axe Eugene and set the controls for the heart of the sun, no the completé footage who includes Breathe, time, Echoes, the full show, thank you
It's very possible that's the only footage that exists. People didn't shoot whole shows like they do now, they would just come in and maybe film a couple songs. That's the case with a lot of what's on the box set.
Bryan8329 Yeah, that is horrible :/
Is what it is.
I want a time machine
Pop music? Pink Floyd was pop when Syd Barrett was in the band. The albums made after Syd left was pure progressive laid back rock. And Pink Floyd has always been the top rock band! Btw Richard looks so stunningly handsome in this footage
Well pop can be whatever is POPular at the time, right?
eles nunca vão morrer
Amo demaisssssssss BR
Is Steve O'Rourke doing an impression of Roger Waters or is Roger Waters impersonating Steve O'Rourke?
Probably the only footage of O'Rourke I've ever seen. I read he was quite the shark, business-wise.
He was also in La Carerra Panamericana. By comparison with Peter Grant and Irving Azoff, he wasn't that bad. Peter Grant would have beaten the Hell out of you and Irving Azoff and Don Henley would file a cease and desist on you.
Bryan8329 he was a great man, believe me.
0:34 Who is this guy? I saw him in the clip of Atom Heart Mother (Live St. Tropez).
Steve O’Rourke, Pink Floyds band manager. Died in 2003. David, Rick and Nick got together at his funeral and played Fat Old Sun and Great Gig in the Sky. Dick Perry also played saxophone as they walked the coffin out.
Roger wasnt there thats sad
ROGER JIMENEZ Pretty sure Roger didn't like Steve. Fuck him anyways, Steve kept the Wall footage hidden from Roger/Pink Floyd for years.
@@PinkFloydBootlegs No, Roger Waters has had cold feet on releasing The Wall footage as far back as 1989 to now. Roger has sat on it and gives every excuse not to release it (videotape format is not good, I found more, I don't want to etc).
David and the rest said if they had The Wall footage, it would have been released already (goes back to the release of Is There Anybody Out There? The Wall Live 1980-81 in 2000 which they released over Roger's objections and also had Storm Thorgerson provide the artwork over Roger's objections). Roger is the elephant in the room. Roger is the one who is preventing the sale of the Floyd catalog and feels $500 Million is not good enough and also Roger doesn't want his compositions to be used in commercials nor movies. He wanted liner notes on the Animals remix, the others didn't. He oversaw The Final Cut Revised Version of 2004 which the others had no involvement with as they disown the album but Roger LOVES The Final Cut and wrote, sang and produced the album.
@@rogerjimenez5318 Roger is a miserable man. Roger didn't even go to Rick's funeral nor comment on Storm Thorgerson's passing. Roger holds grudges with everyone and still attacks Steve, Storm and Rick after they passed away.
I hope the record industry has the foresight to stop bootlegs before its to late.
Great video ! I had to subscribe, as consider myself a good Pink Floyd fan, ( Perhaps a little overboard ) since the start... I have ALL of their ORIGINAL albums, and 45's, including several copies of the ever elusive "See Emily Play" on Tower, pic/slv, and multiple copies of most albums, (Dark Side Of Moon box set, 1/2 spd master, Quad, etc, etc... My question to you, as being a Pink Floyd authority, if you can help me.. I have a copy, (QUAD) of Wish You Were Here, and at the end of Side 1, after finale of "Welcome to the Machine" it goes into approx 18 sec. trail of "Shine On You Crazy Diamond" and then trail off.. Is it just me, or have you heard of this before ???? It is not on any other of my copies, stock copy, or 1/2 speed Master..Only on this "QUAD" album.. is rather strange !!!! If you, or any of your viewers could help me with this, I appreciate so much ! This has bothered me for years.. Thanx for the "Floyd" ! ! ! AND; KEEP PLAYING THE MUSIC ! ! !
The trail off of Part 9 of SOYCD after Welcome to the Machine was on the legit US release of the Quad Mix, I have on vinyl.
@@terrencereardon6374 Awesome ! Thankyou so much, for helping me on this Mystery! Always thot so odd, playing another bit of track, at the trail off here !
( Such a great Album this is, in QUAD !
Wright reaction at @2:35 … it is known what he used to think about “live” sound and the inevitable (at that time at least) loss of quality…
Wish someone had bootlegged the entire Wall concerts. The current ones are bad.
Why are these guys remastering bootlegs and releasing them now, then? Also, Echoes ain't pop, man. Some of their music might've been considered pop back then, but Echoes is untouchable.
Is this documentary included in the box set?
Yes, the 1971 Box set.

“The Skeezer” Con Artist Extraordinaire just ask Yoko Ono and myself.
Wow, 50 000?
Had two bootlegged albums of Pink Floyd, Take Linda Surfing & The Muffled Muffler
OK !!
David Gilmour e sua guitar Lewis...
What documentary is this from?
The guy narrating sounds a bit like Eric Idle
I wonder if the interviewer gave him the bootlegger's details.
@2.24.. What's the white LP cover.. Is it actually a cover?
probably it's Pinky, a rare floyd bootleg
To najpewniej zapowiedź kolejnej płyty, którą zespół wtedy nagrywał, a nie miała jeszcze tytułu i okładki, a ostatecznie nazwana została "Meddle"
I've got a copy of Tour 72 DSOM better than studio album....
And they never did a live recording in 70s!
They did but sat in the vaults (not counting the BBC Sessions through 1971). Wembley 1974 was not officially released until The Dark Side of the Moon and Wish You Were Here Deluxe Editions. Of course Steve helped The Wall Live 1980-81 recordings get released along with David, Nick and Rick over Roger's objections (Roger was against its release and against Storm Thorgerson doing the sleeve for it).
