  • A fairly simple repair on this one, just needed the have some corrosion removed from one of the battery terminals. Also I used Deoxit D5 to clean all of the controls and switches. In addition I repaired the loose dial plastic face plate with hot melt glue.

    We never have such big antennas for AM in radios, made in China for our countries (Russia, Kazakhstan, etc.) Usually it has 5 cm in length, or even less. Because of this the signal is low. You guys are very lucky.

    Nice work on this little "blast from the past". Since the owner is using it on just batteries, I'd recommend putting some dielectric grease on all the terminals to help keep the corrosion at bay.

    I remember repairing many of those types of radios, some had the cassette decks etc.....30-40 yrs ago they costs 75-125 dollars.
    So, they were considered repairable products.....I wouldn't even know if you can buy a radio etc, per sae nowadays.

      Check all of the power supply voltages to the AM/FM RF/IF circuits first.

      @norcal715  Před 4 lety +1

      What is the measured voltage on the 18650 battery? Some units charge the battery and draw from it at the same time. It may be as simple as a bad battery.
