I'm 58 and it all rings true. I wish to go back in time to a normal telephone and nobody filming everything all the time. I liked when people actually spoke to each other face to face. Everywhere you go, even people dining,on vacation, all they do is stare at the phone. 😅
It's understandable how you feel! The constant presence of smartphones has really changed the way we interact with each other and the world around us. Sometimes, a little break from the digital world sounds like a dream, doesn't it?
You’re in your prime 58!, Is young now days.
Yes, & it's always looking DOWN at their phones - 'gadget-gawpers,' I call them. I feel like saying "Look UP, you might see something refreshing - like blue sky, trees, other people, LIFE!
My favorite, My wife's Grandfather left his fly down. Someone commented "you better close the barn door before the horse gets out". He looked down and said "How the hell is he going to get out when he can't even stand up"
Very good...so funny
I know for a fact, I would not be here today if it weren't for modern medicine! Thanks for all these bonus years. Thank God for modern medicine -- the doctors, the researchers, the innovators! 😷
I wouldn't be able to survive without medicine, when I'm in pain there's no medicine to take. Medicine is very important when society has more and more diseases
I’m 74, and getting older is so much harder than I ever realized. Don’t wait… do it now while you can. 💕
You're are still in your thirties, thirty forty four.
@cindyk4294
Easier said than done!
I wouldn't want to be Young now in this World ..had the best years 50s 60s ..
I'm trying...but she's not interested anymore 🤣😂🤣🥰
@@redblade8160 if you don't have the will to do it no matter what physical condition you're in, then you won't do it. First, you TRY.
If you get up in the morning and nothing's dropped off during the night, it's a good day.
Same thing if you read the obituaries in the newspaper and you don’t see your name in there.
I wish a few pounds would drop off!
If you get up in the morning...It's a good day.
I’m 77. I didn’t realize old age would get here so fast.
So true … life has really been great and now I’m 77 … enjoying my alone time is enjoyed as much as getting out with other people … I’m at a great place
I can say, at 77, that I’m living my best and happiest life alone.
Me either??? 😂
I have always thought I would get old fast. I used to have fear of time until I realized it was a waste of time. I realized early that Julius Caesar has been dead for 20 centuries.
At 75 I agree...bring back 38 dammit, I haven't finished living that year yet!
I tell young people, "You may escape cancer and you may escape Covid, but you'll never escape old age!". I'm so glad to see so many "elders" replying to this video. OMG, I AM AN ELDER. It occurs to me every day.
Being old is a waste of time
@@joannetailor4094 Not if you're lucky. If you're unlucky, you'll die from some disease or heart attack. Enjoy your miserable old age.
I'm 81. I agree with all of them.
At 74, many times I've been told to act my age. The problem is I never been this age before so I act as I wish. Take it or leave it.
Age is just a number, and there's no rulebook on how we should act at any given age. Keep living life on your own terms and being true to yourself! 🙌😊
❤ Amazing, my sons are 49, and 53 years old! How did that happen ? They've changed soooo much ,and I'm still the same! It's a miracle!😊
Swinging in my hammock listening to the birds singing and watching the monkeys playing in the trees and the sound of the ocean waves gently coming ashore I thank our good Lord for my excellent health and blessing me with another day and a wonderful, caring wife. At 88 and having worked hard since I was 18 it feels fantastic to reap the rewards. Greetings from Costa Rica 🌴😎🌴
They say that getting old is better than the alternative, but that depends on how much pain you are in.
I have cirrhosis n ckd but everyday is stilla journey
Good health and age wouldnt be a concern
With u on that one . Some days are so full on pain that the alternative is seen as a potential blessing . I noticed the people who come out with this alternative stuff seem to have full mobility and relatively pain free .
@@KAJAMAJA122 If I didn't have rheumatoid arthritis in my legs then getting old would be a lot easier to take. Genetically we are programmed to fall apart after age 45 so take advantage of medical science and make the best of it!

My husband and I were eating at a restaurant a few years ago and another older couple was seated at a nearby table. I noticed every time I would look up the lady was looking at me which was really starting to annoy me. I kept thinking, why does this old lady keep looking at me? As we were finishing our meal, I realized that we actually went to school together. She was in class with my older brother. The last time I had seen her I was in my 20's and during my first marriage we would spend many evenings at their house playing games. I hadn't seen them in at least 40 years and laugh when I think about how I was considering her an old lady when I noticed her watching me. We finally figured out why each of us seemed familiar to the other and had the opportunity to catch up a little. LOL 🤣🤣🤣
Mickey Mantle once said " If I knew I was going to live this long, I would have taken better care of myself ".
I remember that line...yea for me... I am still here and love bball. Mick nailed it with that line...we should all learn from it 😊 ⚾️!
The curse of getting older is, you have to slow down
The blessing of getting older is, you have to slow down.
This is my own daily reminder to accept living more and more in the moment with whatever is in front of me now.
I've acquired this over the years now at 80.
I'm 95 and loving it mostly because of the internet.
That's fantastic to hear! The internet really is a wonderful tool for staying connected, learning new things, and enjoying entertainment.
My grandfather's cousin was a petite, soft spoken Lancashire woman in her mid 90's. One day she turned to me and said that the wonderful thing about being this much older is that she no longer cares if the hem of her dress hangs below the hem of her coat.
I totally can relate to that . That means you went through circles of life, when you are child you don’t care ,old age is freedom, you don’t care!
Yup. That is important.
There are so many things like that that I no longer care about.
Old age is not for the faint of heart
Dread it.
@@marionwest3661 Don't. It's inevitable and it's fun.
Getting old doesn't worry me, but not getting old does!

Go you GOOD thing🙏🥰
Mental problem?
Getting old is more than one pain in the arse!
I use Old Age as my excuse for anything I do wrong!!! Laugh at it!!!
Yes. Like - there are three things I hate about getting old. One is; I now have a poor memory. And .............. I have forgotten the other two.
When a child we are forgiven for dumb things we may say or do because we are so young.
When we become elderly we too are overlooked for foolishness because we are so old.
I've never thought of that one. Thanks.
83 and happy to b alive.😀😉😉😃

Wait until you get really ill, then you will wish to be dead!
Having just passed 80, I know what you mean!
77 this year, thank you Lord !
85 and i thank the good lord for bringing me this far praise the Lord amen

He just doesn't want you.😂😂
What I say to young people who asked me how it feels to get old…, “It sure beats the alternative.”
I'm 90 and I can't believe it!!
You’re a real trouper! I hope you live the rest of your life in good health and painfree ❤️
I am in my latter seventies and l have so many plans. One of them is to become a centenarian.
Clearly you've looked after yourself, you're not senile. Well done.
I think we make fun of ourselves as we age to lessen the pain when someone else says it seriously to or about us. It doesn’t pay to get offended. Its only YOU who get mad, not the insulted. I just say, “If you’re lucky pal, you’ll get to be my age, then see how YOU like it!”
@@yvonnepagan9912 Best way to go. Half of them, in this day and age, will never make it.
A senior citizen defined. A senior citizen is one who was here before the Pill, TV, frozen food, credit cards and ball point pens. For us time-sharing meant togetherness not computers and a chip meant a piece of wood. Hardware meant hard wear and software wasn't even a word. We were before pantyhose, drip dry cloths, dish washers, cloths dryer and electric blankets.
We got married first then lived together and girls thought that cleavage was something butchers did. We were before Batman, vitamin pills, disposable nappies, pizzas and Chinese takeaways. Cigarette smoking was fashionable, grass was for mowing, pot was something you cooked in. A gay person was the life of a party and nothing more whist aids meant beauty lotions or helping someone in trouble.
Well said . I must be old as I can relate to ALL of them . If one looks back on our lives it makes u realise just how much the world has changed and how adaptable we are to have adjusted to each and every one .
I love this...and it is definitely me...@85.
You are so right.
Growing old is inevitable Growing up is optional.
My brother says this. He is older than me, I grew up learning to think twice before believing him. He likes to "fish"he would cast whatever he had to say and see if you would fall for it hook line and sinker. He is 70 hasn't changed and is a respected member in his community. He often says growing old is inevitable, growing up is optional. I'm grateful to have him as a brother along with my other siblings
I am glad you have a good relationship with your brother I wish I could say the same thing.
I tell young people: "You'll be lucky if you're my age some day".
that is true , lot of young people dyeing so soon ,that is sad
Great quotes but terrible AI pronunciation and monotone voice 👎🏼
My mother used to say that and now I agree.

Now that I'm old I understand why all the old people I knew when I was a kid were crabby.
I feel quite impressed that my wife likes living with an old man.
Me, too! It's an effort not to be, though!
One of my favorites is " I always expected to get old, I just thought it would take longer".
It's a gentle reminder to appreciate the present moment while acknowledging the inevitable passage of time. Let's embrace the journey, wrinkles and all...
If I had known getting old would be this much fun, I would have started years ago...
When your young time drags when you get old time flies....
Don’t complain about getting old. Some people don’t get the privilege….. TRW
@voiceofraisin241
You call it a "privilege" to get old? It sounds like you're making excuses to make yourself feel better about it.
I don't want to get old. It's a pain in the bum
It’s not a privilege, it’s a pain.

There is no gain without pain!
Great statement.
Sad many don't live to be old.
I am 75 and thoroughly love it, thank you.
Me too. Best time ever.
You are so welcome!
It's great when nobody pushes you around and tells you what to do anymore.
The only thing that goes faster as you age is your age. I'm 91 years old and don't know where all the years went.
I am in my 70s and I know where my years went. I see my middle age children and my grandchildren in their late 20s and I know. And I'm looking forward to my great grandchildren when their parents are ready to welcome them and bring them to me so I can sing lullabies again. Love from Denmark
@@lavinamontoya8164 Seems like yesterday our grandkids were in grade school and now their kids are in grade school ! And I remember almost all of my elementary school classmates , and many are no longer with us. From 18 to 81 happens with a blink of the eye . There's a great song being sung by many after the death of Toby Keith and written by him ..."Don't Let the Old Man In", and that is my mantra now !
It's funny being the same age as old people.
Of all the things I miss, my mind is first on the list.
Time is a great teacher. Unfortunately it kills all its pupils.
In the flesh, yes. In spirit, I think we move on, outside of time.
Indeed, a lot of my classmates are absent.
Yes. But if we play our cards right it is a great ride.

Well done ! You’re just a spring chicken 🐓 loads of mileage in you to come… enjoy !
Fear not aging; at 70 I am fit, socially active and, most importantly, still lucid. Age is just a four-letter word.🥴
That's wonderful to hear! It's inspiring to see how vibrant and active you are at 70. Age truly is just a number, and your positive attitude is a great reminder for us all.
Unfortunately time waits for no one we need to enjoy every day we have
Sometimes we cant
I'm far too immature to be this old.

Stop eating junk, just eat meat and fish and see the amazing difference in your health. It really works. Clean yourself out and give up sugary junk.
One day you rise and shine and gaze into the mirror to face the age old question ‘when did I turn into my mom?’ Lol. Or even worse, when did I turn into my grandmother? ❤
@cynthiarouse.
Well, at least you didn't change gender.
@@redblade8160 * I love being a girl.....* ; - )
I won't be either of them. I didn't just pass through time. I adapted. I loved my mom, but we are very different people. And l never met my grandparents or other relatives. Now they are ALL gone.
Oh, I would love to see my grandmother in my face! She was lovely in every possible way and lived to be 97. She never worried or cared about her wrinkles or sagging skin; she lived in the moment and never lost sight of that. A true inspiration to me.
Respect all others.
Remember that once YOU were young and one day YOU will be old.
The challenge of life is to grow older...not old.

Old age is the price you pay for being young..
Lol!! 😊❤❤❤❤
If you’re lucky
If I’d have known that grandchildren were so much fun, I’d have had them first! 😊
This is depressing. Aging isn't all doom and gloom. But then again, it depends on if you're an optimist or a late bloomer.
I don’t mind getting old. I just don’t like the aches, stiffness and lack of normal flexibility. I get tired easily and don’t like all wrinkles. But otherwise, it’s better than the 2nd choice.
Old age has spent 70 years creeping up on me.
And I thought 70 was the new middle-age!
I needed this today. It’s my 65th birthday!

In my dad’s golden years, he would say old age is not for sissies. It always made me smile. He lived life to the fullest till 91 and I pray I have his sense of humor in my golden years. Oops they are actually here. we need to take ourselves less seriously the older we get. I do like the fact that I don’t care as much what people think. Love to all, and keep your sense of humor.

You must be the youngest one on here.
Yes it is but it does start with a six...❤
It just happens unexpectedly!
On her birthday my sister in law asked me if she looked 70, I said no, but your used to. I still have the scar.
Asking a young person why they're not married yet is like asking an old person "Why aren't you dead yet?"
In some cases it is just as bad.
Getting old isn’t so bad. Everybody wants to carry stuff for you.
And receive deliveries that failed because you...1, Didn't hear the door bell. 2. Were asleep.

Getting older, and getting forgetful, ...there are vitamins for that if you can remember to take them....😮
I have trouble remembering these three things--names, faces, and...something else.
Some people grow older and stay the same;
Others grow older and better with every passing year;
While some just get OLD.
I'm going for better. So far, it's working.
I once met an 82-year old man. Looking at early photos of him, he looked quite plain, but over the years, he'd gradually developed character, leaving him more attractive in advanced years than in his youth. That's the way to do it!
