    The VFR remains a fantastic bike. I spend quite some money on maintenance as I wanted to have the bike fully serviced after the purchase, so done valves, airfilter, plugs, all fluids, front and rear shock, tyres, etc. The VFR is now in top condition I don’t have to worry about it. Next year it will be oil change and perhaps a set of tyres… Definitely a keeper 👍🏻

    • @Grahamvfr
      @Grahamvfr  Před 28 dny

      Yes I guess if I didn't have the time to service it myself, I wouldn't hesitate like you to pay for servicing, although as I replied in a previous comment, service costs don't seem any more expensive than a lot of my mates (most newer ) bikes. Fairing panels add to Labour costs obviously.
      Thanks again 👍

      @@Grahamvfr I must admit that I'm not trusting most dealers to service the VFR as we know that valves, etc is a lot of work. However, for the VFR I found a specialist who takes it apart, sends pictures of all stages and items and VFR's are the only bike he maintains. I trust him fully and if he cannot fix it, Houston we have a big problem ;).

    The VFR looks very clean and smart. Good idea doing a yearly review. I may do an ownership one on my Triumph Explorer. It's now about to hit 60k miles and the dilemma is do I service it, or trade it. Your running costs are amazing. Triumph servicing is expensive and I'm envious of your insurance costs for 4 years. Half mine.

    After 6 years of ownership iv sold mine for a new kawasaki 1000sx ninja only 60 miles on it so far first impressions so far compared to the vfr pros feels much lighter, lighter feel to clutch, fueling a lot better, wider higher bars feel better at lower speeds. cons build quality not up to the vfr standard, chain drive, granted I'm running it in and only taking to 4thou revs but doesn't seem to have the vfr touque low down really liked my vfr but the front end feel of this kawasaki in the corners is addictive love it.

    Thanks Graham. I have mine 11 1/2 years. The only service issue I am somewhat not looking forward to is the valves which are due @ 16000 miles. I alternate this bike with two other older VFRs which I use in rotation every two seasons. Wonderful machines. Thank you for the video.

    Agree graham . Personally don't think you have lost any money when you look at the market. I looked at another the other week private sale , 35 thousand mile £3500 . It was horrible everything had been wrapped in carbon wrap and was generally a untidy bike . And you look at the ones at dealers and they want 6 grand.

      @@Grahamvfr nice bike tho my mate at work has just bought a pearl red one very nice I do like the blue of yours tho. My mate picked his up last Saturday he said it’s a scary thing when you open the taps. I myself have a cb500x would love another bike to go with it . But as a 1 bike man (at the moment) the 500x does it all very well. It does lack power on the motorway but in every other way it’s perfectly adequate. Not a bike I will ever get rid of. I was thinking of maybe getting a cb100f or a vfr as a touring toy . As they both seem good value for money.
