This video is bittersweet for me. I was supposed to stay at an airbnb in September of last year that is 5 min from her shop and was sooooooooo looking forward to eating there. But I am so happy she has been doing well thru the panini and look forward to one day enjoying onigiri there. 💜🤞🏾
I'm gonna take a guess and say that you meant "thru the pandemic" and not "thru the panini" lol 😂😂😂
日本のテレビでも紹介されていたお店でしたーーー!!!
日本に2014年以来帰れていないけど、帰れた暁には絶対オニギリ食べに行きます!!!!!
Those stories shop's owner shares are very touching. Love those quotes from her especially "Make food with your hand and serve with your heart", remind me of my mom and grandma cooking. I am sure everyone can relate in some way.
OMG she broke my heart!! Such passion and what a story!
I squealed when I saw this video and I can confirm that Onigiri Bongo has the best onigiri in the world! I used to eat there every Thursday when I worked in Otsuka. My favourite was the tuna mayo. I miss it so much!!
Cathy trying her hardest not to explode egg yoke on dress, whilst loving the food is a classic🍙🍙🍙
In absolute tears listening to this Onigiri Master talk about her passion for her food and customers. And taking notes. I've been making onigiri wrong this whole time. I can't wait to visit some day.
My favorite old school childhood food
thank you to director and kat for the content, i want onigiri right now!
feel the flow!
yes onigiri!!!!!!!!!!!!
Love the longer form content, would love to see more like this!
WOAH! Those Onigiris look spectacular!! The cured eggyolk, so creamy, the salmon roe bursting with flavor, the seaweed and all the unimaginable flavors!!!. Props to Cathy for learning a new skill and Director-san for documenting the experience. Also, Yumiko-san being a great leader and example for her community. Keep up the good work!!!
It is really nice to see when people love what they do, not only look better but taste too
World Class artistry that happens to be World Class Food also. The prep work and final product is Awesome.
You said you were going to bring us better quality videos, well this video is fantastic! I loved it. She is the best example of "Do what you love and love what you do". Thank you for showing us the beautiful people and culture from Japan.
What a lovely ladie.
さすが「アスク•ジャパニーズ」の皆さん!いつも通りの美しく撮影しました!I've heard nothing but good things about Otsuka Bongo! I love the amount of love and care that all of the staff put in to creating all of the food they offer. I also love how they keep the traditions of the shop while also looking to new ideas the customers offer. Ukon-san is such a dedicated, strong woman who realizes the importance of good food and the comfort it can bring to people. I'm glad she keeps the memories of those she loves alive in the food she makes. Hopefully I can visit Bongo one day and pay my respects to everyone there in person💕
Excellent video, Cat. Blessings.
This is a fun documentary kind of video! Idk if it's Ask Japanese formula or the way Cathy interact with the owner. And also the owner is seems fun person to talk a lot about onigiri.
And also the story in 11:00 is really good story and the music come in and make me happy.
Wow, this video is refreshing, I’m thankful for all of you and wish for more such owner’s videos
Very moving!
Good content, great questions, the world's cutest journalist, and super camerawork. Ask Japanese is moving forward, too! 😎👍
I gotta try this next time I go to jp. Even if I have to wait hours. Also the lady is so nice!!
🤤🤤🤤 I miss that shop.... I'm so happy you got a chance to try it! One of my main stops when I can get to Japan again, and a bunch of other places... since now I know how to make Onigiri better, less pack more fluff!
Ah this type of video is way way better than just filming the streets of Tokyo. I love a bit of interaction and especially taking a peek into someone’s work/life. 10/10 👍
Those looks so delicious!!!
What a great video! It was so cool to meet the people in the shop, especially the shop master, and to see what they do. I'm definitely going here when I visit Japan.
Oishiso! Will definitely be going there next time I am in Tokyo.
I loved the trip to the Pocky /Pretz factory, excited once heard the AJ team were doing another longer one, great camera work and really liked the pieces selected for back ground music, one of my favorite shows aired on NHK is the Professionals and I think you have done as well here, Thanks so much as now I was able to live the experience through you.
onigiri lady is sooo sweet omg
I absolutely LOVE this video, it made me so emotional 😭 I'm traveling to Japan at the end of thos year and I love learning about the culture, the people and the food. This was a lovely little bundle of all three ☺️❤
I think that Onigiri is the ikigai for her.
Ikigai means a kind of motivation to live.

I watched this restaurant on television before while our lunch break and it looks tasty
The interview was so heartwarming 💞🥰
Something else to add to my ever growing list of places to eat at in Japan! They look delicious!! 😋
I love these types of videos 😍
Talking about "Breath of Harmony" as they all wear headscarfs with a pattern reminding me of Tanjiro from Demon Slayer. It couldn't be more perfect. haha
Honestly though, I hope I can go there some day and try these onigiris filled with love!
Wholesome video
this is already the 4th YT channel which I saw this restaurant being featured

I went to Japan just recently and it wasn't there in Otsuka.. 😢I hope they have another location... It is the best
I love onigiri
All the essence of Japanese animé in one video. Onigiri is the main thing we keep in our mind when watching a Japanese animé.
At 1:57, did the cook just say "...kore" at the end of the sentence the same way that Konohamru says it?!
I love onigiri🍙🍙❤️❤️
COMFY
