At the age of 26, when he ascended to the throne, Sultan Suleiman aimed to build an empire more powerful than Alexander the Great and to render the Ottomans invincible. Throughout his 46-year reign, he became the greatest warrior and ruler of both East and West.
The young Suleiman received news of his succession to the throne during a hunting party in 1520. Unaware that he would be ruling a reign beyond his dreams, he left behind his wife son and took to the road with his close friend and companion Pargali Ibrahim to reach the Topkapi Palace in Istanbul. As they started their journey overland, an Ottoman ship set sail from Crimea in the Black Sea, bringing female slaves as gifts for the Ottoman palace… On this ship was Alexandra La Rossa, the daughter of a Ukrainian Orthodox minister, taken away from her family and sold to the Crimean palace. She had no idea that she would become Hurrem, wife of Sultan Suleiman and mother of princes, ruling the empire with him through bloodshed and intrigue.
As Sultan Suleiman conquered the world, his great passion for Hurrem would clash with his love for and trust in his closest friend and advisor, Grand Vizier Pargali Ibrahim, all set against the backdrop of the tension between Christian Europe and the Ottoman Empire in the 16th century.

Actually in history it's not about love. in Ottoman's who gave birth a lot of Sahzades that woman became a haseki and sultan.. Each time they have a son they were getting more money as salary ) interesting system but it was like that .. Alexandra was chosen by Valide Sultan, she was taught the language and other rules.. The name Hurrem was given to her by Valide Sultan too and Valide Sultan send Hurrem to Suleyman, in the film everything is different, they have changed a lot of things. Plus in that period Harem where women were living was in different palace and Valide Sultan ruled that palace.. If Valide didn't protect her she couldn't survive even a single day..Valide sultan protected her till the time Hurrem made a crown bigger than hers because there was rules no ones crown could be hire than Valides..besides Mahidevran was Suleyman' s first love and he didn't want another women except her that's why Valide was afraid to lose the power in her son... But later she understood that she did wrong because Hurrem was more dangerous than Mahidevran... In short I want to say that if Valide didn't like Hurrem as it's shown in film she couldn't survive there a single day it's not logical at all.

14:03 I don't know if Hurem she really loved Suleiman but her first goal was to became a sultana. I am sure that even if Sumbul was the sultan she would "fall in love" with him too. Also she always acted in front of Suleiman.

Becoming a sultana may or may not have been her ambition. As much she loved the power that came with it, she also loved Suleiman with all her heart. The thing is, she broke the monotony the harem girls were raised with which was refreshing for Suleiman. For her, Suleiman came above everything else. Yes, I would never disagree that she loved the power that came with it, a chance to rule the people who looked down on her, but at the same time, she loved Suleiman a lot more and wouldn't hesitate to kill herself if something happened to him. This is what Historians note. The biggest advantage of Hurrem lay in the fact that Suleiman was handsome, and she fell in love with him, and he fell for her, harder than everything. You can see that very well in the poems they shared, and she didn't just stop with the words used to describe Suleiman. She proved to him every chance she got how much she loved him ..
