    I had great results diluting Koch-Chemie Green Star 10:1 in a Merolex Foamer. I sprayed the car one pannel at a time, let it dwell, and rinsed it off with a pressure washer. It removed almost all the green mildew and road film from my neglected daily driver. I learned about this method and the necessary chemicals and tools from one of your earlier pre-rinse videos. I can’t thank you enough for sharing your knowledge.

    In Round Rock & Austin Texas area where it is blazing hot all summer long. I like to use Super Clean for my tires, rims and lower rockers. I also use Dark Fury diluted 10:1 on bugs and any grime or grease that is on the lower rockers this helps breakdown the grime. It's hot in Texas and working in direct sunlight is a way of life and most people have shade but it's not covering their driveway.
    I prewash to cool down the paint with water first then I will apply the APC, or Dark Fury or P&S brake buster on the rims to ensure everything is cooled down and not baking hot.
    Thank you for a great video Mr. Miranda

    Great stuff as always, Phil! I’m fortunate enough that I don’t typically have to worry about chemicals drying in the sun, so I stick with DIY Detail All Clean at ~1:14 in the iK Foam Pro. I cover the car, let it dwell for about a minute, rinse, then spray the car again with rinseless and proceed with a standard rinseless wash. In my experience, that’s been the most effective, efficient, and safest method. Haven’t had any marring yet.

    Another great video Phil! One of the things I appreciate most about you is that you teach and drop a lot of great knowledge, provide some good advice, and show examples/methods of how you do things, but you always come back to saying do whatever works best for you. I'm just a weekend warrior who details my own car and for family and friends and haven't been doing it all that long, but I've learned there's generally not one right way or product to do things. Obviously I get to look at it differently than running a business, but it's about having fun and trying different methods and products to find what I like. I've tried a few different methods for pre-rinsing/pre-washing that have worked well for me depending on how dirty the vehicle is. When I've needed a little more bite, I've used DIY All Clean 15:1 in a IK Foam Pro 12 and have also used that for wheels and tires. Or sometimes I'll start with P&S Crystal Wash, rinse, follow up with DIY All Clean, rinse, foam, contact wash, etc. For maintenance washes, I've also enjoyed the 3pH system from Labocosmetica. If the car isn't overly bad, I'll foam on a higher pH soap (Labo Primus, P&S Frostbite, ADS Decon, etc) as a pre-wash or even just a pH neutral soap or rinseless. I have used Super Clean for doing engine bays, but never on wheels and tires or on paint. I'll have to give it a try.

    Hey Phil another great video I'm a weekend warrior and love watching your videos that you seem to show more of a process off correctly washing your car showing more of a class product rather than naming specific products that you would only use . Here in Michigan in the winter with the road salt and pollution of the factories it all sticks to your car in the middle of winter like cement. I've used super clean in a foam Cannon 4:1 and OMG by that alone and power washing it I would say the car is probably 90% clean. A lot of times that's all I do because it's 0° Fahrenheit I don't want to hand wash and I'm happy with those results. Thanks again keep up the great work

    Thanks for sharing Phil, unfortunately we can't seem to get this in the UK, seems cheap as chips over there with you.
    With regards to mixing in your snow foam cannon, sorry if you already know this, but you can work out PIR, to give you the same PIR as you get in your pump sprayers.
    I do this as I use a couple of products which are designed to be used using PIR, rather than the usual 1" in a foam cannon etc. as each foam cannon is different, each pressure washer is different, so you will have a different PIR.
    First, fill your foam cannon with 1 litre clean water (assuming it holds1 litre)
    Attach your pressure washer and shoot into a bucket, with the dial turned to how you normally use it, until your foam cannon is empty.
    Then see how much water you made in total - let's just say it was 12 litres for example.
    Because you mix your foam sprayer, pump sprayer etc. @ 1:10 which is pretty much 9% - this is your PIR from these sprayers with this dilution, if you want the same strength.
    If you want the same PIR from your foam cannon, then you would have to completely fill it with Super Clean, as 12000ml x 0.09 = 1080ml or 1.08 litres, so you would be very marginally under 9% with that.
    Sorry if you already knew that, maybe a couple of folks who don't know that may find it useful.

    • @MirandaDetailing
      @MirandaDetailing  Před 4 dny +1

      Hi. Yeah I tried the PIR method before. It might work for some. I just find it over complicated for such a simple task as mixing up apc or soap. I see the point of it, but in practical application it over complicates things. I have 5 different foam canons and use the same dilutions in all of them and find no major differences. Some foam canons use up slightly more product than others, but as far as effectiveness, I don’t see a difference. Thanks for sharing! 😎👍🏼

    I use super clean 7-1 in a hand pump weed sprayer. Then after I let it soak for a minute, I foam the car with a cheap but effective car wash soap (it has a turtle on the bottle 😂). This allows me to leave the super clean on the car without drying for a bit longer. Then rinse. That works awesome for me. It will let it start eating at any tar as well and make it super easy to get off. I have never had an issue even though it makes my wife nervous. Lol. Then wash with incredible suds and so on.

    Hi Phil, thank you for another great video. You are such a great teacher. I've been using Super Clean for a while as a pre-wash (learned from you years ago) but I have also used others such as G-Techniq W4 citrus foam in the same fashion. I like the SuperClean better! The GTW4 doesn't have the penetrating power as does the SuperClean (my opinion), so needless to say the SuperClean has been my go-to product for the past 4-years now. I typically do the same process as you do; I like to spray the surface with water first to get the heavy debris off and cool down the paint, then apply super clean 10:1. I was doing 5:1 in the past and never noticed any issues but 10:1 goes a long way!

    Hey Leonidas! ha ha, Super clean really works for the price but I can't get it here. With our tropical climate, We use Adams Strip wash for a pre-rinse. Why?, because it works and does not leave water spots or damage anything even if it dries on the surface. Just Foaming it on then a bucket wash. The average ambient temp here is 90F. But I could use some super clean, It would help us a lot since we are in a third-world-country and we cannot charge as much as you guys.

  • @Reaper-Jim
    @Reaper-Jim Před 3 dny +1

    SC is THE best tire cleaner I have ever used … at full strength. Downside = the smell will set your lungs on fire and if it’s not rinsed thoroughly it will leave behind a chalky mess. That’s exactly why you dilute SC to a very high ratio, like what was demonstrated in the video. Interior 20:1, exterior 10:1 … you can’t go wrong here.
    However, what SC lacks is lubricity. When I say “lacks”, I mean it has zero. What I do to compensate is I dilute SC with OnR (256:1) instead of just water. Does it have to be OnR? No, it can be most any rinseless wash. Take your pick. The points is … adding the lubricity makes SC the most versatile product in any line up. Also, does it have to be SC? No, Simple Green, Purple Power, etc., all benefit from diluting with a rinseless wash solution.
    Mr. & Mrs. Phil are wise beyond their years. Loads of experience through trial and error.

I have ceramic spray on my car and don't typically use it on my paint, but do use it to remove bugs front the front grill. It works GREAT!! Not sure why folks would give you grief for using it. I have a question on a different topic. Question...I just assembled my new Simpson Clean Machine pressure washer. It has 1700 PSI, 1.0 GPM output. It came with only 2 nozzles: Turbo and 15 degree. I want to get a 40 degree tip to have a better fan for the water when washing my car. However, I'm confused about what size tip to get. The nozzle has 154100 on it. Most of the online nozzle calculators put the nozzle size I need at 1.53. Question...Do nozzles actually come in that size? I haven't found one. Or would you recommend getting a 2? I hope that made sense.🤨 I'm not a pro detailer, just a lady on a budget that wants to keep her ride clean, shiny and pristine. Please advise. Thanks!

    Depending on the condition of the vehicle and its existing protection, when they are very dirty (and always on tires and wheel wells) I like to do the APC rinse with Super Clean (easy to access and economical), Superior Dark Fury or DIY All Clean, but if it's normal maintenance (not so messy) DIY Rinseless Wash (DIY, McKee's N-914) or Turtle Wax Max Power. Rinse and then contact wash with a good soap or rinseless.

    I only wash my own cars, and the only APC I have used so far is the green Meguiar's. I dilute that 1:4 for tires/exterior and 1:10 for interior. I like it, but once I go through the gallon I'm gonna try out other brands, maybe DIY Detail or Koch Chemie.

      Hey I'm sure Phil has some videos on his channel to help you with this. From my experience with my vehicle's you have contamination on the body so I use P&S perforated clay towel and rinseless wash for lubrication and go over all the panels. I soak the clay towel in rinseless first and spray the panel then use the clay towel with NO pressure. Just move it back and forth and feel if the contamination is being removed.

    The only reason to buy any of the fancy pre-wash products is if you’re want to preserve a car that has already been paint corrected and coated if you’re gonna buff it out and it there is absolutely no sense to waste your money on any of these products, the simple wash and clay and get to work There is products out there. Keep it simple is key.

    • @MirandaDetailing
      @MirandaDetailing  Před 3 dny

      No, it's not too late, again because its diluted 1:10 it's not so strong as to cause major damage, drying and completely dry for a long period of time are two different things entirely. I even had it dry completely before and it still didn't cause any damage, it's just a precaution for everyone because different vehicles have different variables going on. Super clean and other APC's when diluted properly and used properly will NOT cause any issues

      @BrandonBuilds-pf1hz 🤔 ummmm ok. I mean it depends on some factors. Fresh vs baked on, what type of bugs. We don’t have problems with even older bugs. 90% of them melt off. The rest of the bug residue usually needs to be polished away. But that’s normal, that’s bug removal for ya.
