Then you look deeper and their differences are pretty drastic.
Abomination was a normal human soldier before transforming, Doomsday is an alien and naturally looks like that.
Abomination got his powers from a gamma blood infusion with the super soldier serum, Doomsday got his powers from being of Kryptonian descent and being killed over and over again.

They also brought their ideas with them why DC had Batman and Marvel had Moon Knight. It's very interesting to see how the characters with the same roots developed differently

Actually the Blue Beetle , Captain Atom, the Question, Judomaster, Nightshade are all Charlton Comics characters DC bought them and put them in the First Crisis of Infinite Earths story.
Also the Ted Kord Blue Beetle is the second Blue Beetle the first Blue Beetle was Dan Garrett a cop who found a magic amulet that basically turned him into a blue copy of Shazam had powers just like Shazam/ Superman fought evil both on earth and space, Ted Kord became the Blue Beetle when Dan Garrett died but Ted did not take the amulet he fought crime with science.
Also the Orginal idea for the Watchman story was going to use the Charlton Heros, but something legal happened.
      Dr. MANHATTEN --- Captain Atom
NIGHTOWL -- BLUE Beetle ( flying car)
      Rochach - the Question (FACELESS)
      SILK Spector -- Nightshade
Ozymades (spelling) --Thunderbolt the superior man.

I'd say both of universes give enough originality to each character to be distinct in their respective universes. Also it may not even be conscious copying. For example. Everyone knows Spiderman created by Stan Lee in 1962. But technically the first spider based superhero was DCs tarantula in 1941 who was a skilled acrobat who used suction cups and web guns. Also the whole squadron Supreme was obviously created to show a universe where justice league was villain to the avengers.

Green Goblin a copy of Joker? You’re joking, right? Is it because they both laugh? Norman is literally infected by the serum which makes him laugh and Joker’s whole personality is meant for him to laugh. Also they’re nothing alike in character. Goblin is not a copy of Joker, it’s more like the jester (who’s a daredevil villain) who’s a copy of Joker.
