      No problem, no it's not customary to tip the transportation driver but of course it's always up to you.

    Was just in Cancun... never saw this mystery "e-gate" anywhere.

  • @lance195
    @lance195 Před 4 měsíci +3

    The Cancun airport has 4 terminals. I traveled Air Canada in Oct 2023 which uses Terminal 3 and Yes they have the E-gates. WestJet uses terminal 4 and Yes it too has E-gates. Both Terminals #3 and #4 take you to different Exits, but YOU ARE IN CANCUN MEXICO Yahoo. Ready to Vacation away the hours. Which Terminal are you referring to in this Video. Thanks for the Video It was well done.

      I'll be 100% honest with you and tell you that I have not rented a car in Cancun before. I cannot in good faith recommend a service if I personally have not used it before. I wouldn't want to mislead any of my viewers. Sorry I couldn't be much help with recommendations.

    Going to Cancun in mid April and I must say this video has been pretty helpful. I had 1 question: is the ADO terminal at the airport going downtown hard to find? Cheers

    • @AlvarezAbroad
      @AlvarezAbroad  Před 4 měsíci +1

      Not at all. If (like me) you're coming from the USA, you'll arrive at terminal 3. In the video at 2:53, you'll see me walk all the way to the ADO bus stand where the busses leave. Directly opposite of that is the booth where you buy the tickets. It's visible at 2:59 in the video.

    Thank you for the info.
    1) What do you mean by "external" rental car companies?
    2) Are passports stamped if using the E-Gates?

    • @AlvarezAbroad
      @AlvarezAbroad  Před 4 měsíci +1

      1) Do not rent from any of the rental companies at the airport itself. It is better to go with a company that is not affiliated with the airport.
      2) No they are not stamped (sad if you like to collect the stamps in your passport like I do)
      I hope this cleared things up.

    How can i book a shuttle online? Can u plz share a few genuine websites?

    • @AlvarezAbroad
      @AlvarezAbroad  Před 4 měsíci +1

      I would recommend you use a service like viator or trip advisor to book your shuttle as they are trusted websites and you can read the reviews. I also linked the website for the bus in the description if you want to use the ADO bus instead. I hope this helps.

    Are there any entry fees when entering Mexico ?

    • @AlvarezAbroad
      @AlvarezAbroad  Před 3 měsíci

      There are no fees right now per se. At the airport they do have a so-called "visitax" but it's not really enforced. If you book a resort they will charge you a "tourism tax" AKA resort fee, for the room so keep that in mind.

      @@AlvarezAbroadI think this is pretty standard for all airports, I've never had wifi at an airport that wasn't either slow or cutting out. Granted I've only ever flown in North America and Europe, so maybe it's different in other continents

  • @christo2333
    @christo2333 Před 4 měsíci

    Kind of vague. It would be nice, for instance, if you told us HOW early we need to get to the airport if we are flying out of Mexico. 2 hours, 4 hours, 6 hours. Just saying plan for it taking longer is meaningless.

    • @AlvarezAbroad
      @AlvarezAbroad  Před 4 měsíci +2

      The reason why I didn't give an exact time is because it will be different for every individual. It can change from the season, to the day of the week, to the time of day. Even to the mode of transportation you're using. It all depends. Ask your driver as they will be more aware of the current drive time to the airport. Hope this helps.
