TwirlyButera You and Jesse are sooooo relatable. I prefer talking in school or texting. Because in school, you are forced to be there. So awkward silences are excused. Texting, I can just say 'Bye, I have to do something.' But calling someone means you have to have an on going conversation.
TheDiamondKid Yes, whenever my phone rings I'm like "did something urgent happened, is someone like dying?" but then I pick it up and it's just some random conversation that could be easily done through texting and ugh
If you wanna talk let's either meet up or you better type, nothing in between. I can't read a book if I'm holding my phone blabbing with you.

I *hate* awkward silences. It's just *ugh*. It's *horrible*. I can't keep up a conversation.
Yes, there's so much pressured involved. To avoid awkward silences you have to keep thinking ahead to find things to say. When you text, even in a fast conversation you have time to confortably think before hitting 'send', and best of all, you can edit stuff.

this is my life story. i pick up the book and then I start reading and mid paragraph I think about something and i forget whatever I just read and it's torture. i'm just a distracted person in general, it doesn't help lol
I love when you make these skit videos! They're just so relatable 😂 The netflix thing constantly distracts me, because I know if I start watching a show I won't dedicate time to reading haha!!

This is me when I find something a book that I relate to , then I start making connections to my own life. I somehow end up closing the book , and ranting out loud to my self about whatever thing that caused me to be distracted. I'm a mess 😂

Hahahaha, love this. Yep often feel this, want everything to be perfect when I finally start the book - not hungry, drink at hand, comfortable (this takes ages), and silence for miles. Then want the right vibe/mindset, often people have to tell me to start the book, like what am I afraid of? - heartbreak, crushing of dreams, death. Pretty much, but there is also so much to gain!

You just understand me so much! I'm such a huge distracted reader, and it's so frustrating, because my mind thinks like it does, like it will forget that I"m supposed to sit here and read the book, and be okay with that. I try to put my phone on silent, and out of reach, that way I can't be deserved when I read.

The thing with me and reading is that is hard to make myself start to read, but after I get into it, if I like the book, I can do it for hours
Finally someone that understands! Every time I mention this to my friends they are like "How do you get distracted and start thinking of other things? That never happens to me!"

The distraction I face the most is when I'm sitting in bed reading and I accidentally take a nap instead! It happens to me all the time, and I can never get any reading done!

OMG that's so me!!! I'm always coming up with stuff I have to Google *right nao!* when I'm reading. It's especially hard being a writer and having everything spark ideas for that plotpoint or character arc I was working on (Or give me new ideas to add to the "will write someday" pile of plotbunnies that almost puts my TBR to shame.) Me, because I’m a very easily distracted reader, and I have to say to myself, “Book. Read. NOW.”
One thing that I find helps with immersion and getting less distracted is reading along to the respective audiobook sped up to your reading speed. You soak in everything a bit more; and once you’re into the book, you’ll find it easier to read it even without the audiobook.
when I get distracted I continue reading, just not actually reading and then I'm in the next chapter but have to go back because I've been blanking out
Haha this has been me recently! I have been in a mini slump and every time I pick up a book, I get distracted, then I go look at my shelf and think about all the other books I want to read haha
