I quit coffee. Locked myself in my house Sunday,.stopped coffee and fasted for three days. After 54 plus years, I am caffeine free. I had a headache as big as Texas, just drank water with electrolytes for 3 days. Today I woke up and man did I feel different. Like a new man and am off my 20 plus cups of coffee a day. I am seven months Carnivore.

THis is a completely unrelated subject, but they applied a rule in the Netherlands, where they made infrastructure designers (road designers) responsible for road safety. That resulted in road designs that reduce accidents. They did this by creating an independent organization that does scientific experiments to figure out what the safest road designs are. The road designers then can choose to follow those guidelines. (they don't have the obligation to do this, but obviously, following the guidelines will help in not being held responsible for accidents.)
So they effectively took the responsibility away from the authorities and placed it firmly in the hands of infrastructure designers.
Maybe we should make the food companies responsible for health effects of their products. That may be the way to change the tide.

I have huge repect for Doctor Shawn Baker and his approach to improving ones health. My own life has been transformed by eating a carnivore diet. I am not looking for a really long life, just one that is free of the diseases I used to suffer from. People comment that I will experience the downside of this woe eventually and I am prepared to carry on and enjoy the ride!

I started with standard American diet, eliminated starchy carbs, went to ketogenic, now I'm carnivore. None of my evolution was due to health issues. I eat mostly beef, eggs, and butter, when I want variety I eat salmon, shrimp, scallops, oysters. I eat some cheese. I keep yogurt in the frig but mostly eat it rarely, when I'm in a hurry, hungry, and decide to grab some food before being busy doing activities out of the house. Who wouldn't want to eat the hyper-palatable foods? Anyone who wants to be optimally healthy, happy, athletic, vigorous, lean, beautiful, and sexually active.

I started eating carnivore 6 days ago in order to get rid of my binge eating disorder and it's been rough. Even trying to figure out my hunger cues is a struggle, after so many binges I can eat way past satiation but eating 'too much' meat is better than eating potatoe chips and cookies., I guess. So far I am 6 days binge free and taking it one day at a time.

I was in the same boat for a long time, 3 plates at a buffet for lunch, whole Domino's medium deep dish pizza, sub and 20-40 wings washing it down with a fifth of Jack for dinner. Got up to 375+ depending on the day. Fasted my way down to 275, jumped on carnivore last July and I'm down to 255. Highschool weight. Still overweight. Now I'm doing two day fasts and then a giant meat meal and back to fasting.

@@imliz100 technically, red meat includes beef, veal, lamb, bison and pork. Are you eating only beef or including all red meats?
In addition to lovepineapples’ suggestions, you can also pack meatballs (use the fattiest ground beef or any red meat you can find), make lamb burger patties and you can add beef or pork bacon for bacon burger patties. EAT THE FAT. If you like liver you can chop it up and mix it in your meatballs, if you eat pork then pork belly is excellent when you crisp it in an air fryer. Soup and crackers = Bone broth and pork rinds. Also make a nice big fatty meatloaf and you can have lunch for days. Same with a fatty Chuck roast. Cook the roast in an instapot, slow cooker, or slow cook it in the oven in a cast iron pan BUT sear it first to get a nice golden crust just for a few minutes, then just add water and salt and you will have the most tender, fattiest leftovers for lunch that will taste better as each day passes.
Don’t be afraid to experiment. As long as you keep it fatty and eat until you are satisfied not sickly stuffed, the you will be just fine. Also, try to walk 10-15 min after each meal to help with digestion.

I feel amazing and recover well enough for work (teacher) and I train everyday; often twice a day. Technically ketovore but most carbs come from dairy (and 1-2 tbs of clean ingredient sauce) and only 1 packet of sweetener (stevia in lmnt) a day. On the weekends I’ll have fish, steak, roast, carnivore crack chicken, or bbq. I have variety in my diet and have ice cream every night. I do not miss carbs, and I was once a pizza and donut addict.

Could satiety be the solution: what this approach does not take into account is addiction. Addiction to sugar, addiction to carbohydrates. An apple give you a lot of society per calorie, but for me an apple, eat me straight back to peanut M&Ms.
Because of this, the extreme restriction of carnivore has been an absolute game changer for me. I can muscle through a couple weeks of withdrawal and then be fine. I cannot eat sugary foods (fruit for example) every day and not quickly go back to junk food.

I can’t remember who said it. And maybe they all did. But my favorite thing is when doctors tell an obese person to just exercise and diet and lose weight when the person is in so much pain that exercising, especially using the lower half of the body is impossible. That if they were just understand starting with diet is so much better than making them exercise which will cause them to quit faster than just eating correctly. Also, the diet doctors want you want they have no clue. Because they don’t know. And probably they would push the veggies.

I've been on an animal based, indigenous diet since early 2000s and carnivore since late 2017 or early 2018. Nov. 29th, 2023 I had the CT scan for a CAD score. The lead lab technician double checked everything & said it was completely "unremarkable" & I have a score of 0%. I'm not a very big person so they were able to see all of the organs from collar bones to belly button lol. They saw nothing, anywhere. I'm so glad I eat my ancestral diet. I firmly believe that eating an anti-inflammatory, ancestral & species specific diet will prevent 99.9% of the ills of modern mankind. (Look at what's happening to our animal companions being fed food made in labs & factories. Pets are getting human diseases! I don't need someone to break that down for me. I fed my animals what they'd eat if not living in a heated structure with me & they didn't get diabetes, dementia, heart disease, kidney disease, strokes... ) Literally food for thought. 🤔 I will never buy commercially prepared "pet" food again. The processing, additives, preservatives & everything else in there they don't disclose is killing people and their pets. If my ancestors didn't have it, I'm not eating it.

The reason low-carb is good is you do go into ketosis and the ketone beta hydroxybutyrate is close to the fuel that your colon likes butyrate.
