Thanks for sharing your setup! I bought a used 2013 Sentra SR at a Nissan dealership with 86,XXX miles not knowing the issues with CVT. The Carfax checks out with on time oil changes but no transmission fluid changes. The test drive was very good no issues. Owner’s manual said to change the fluid at every 30K miles. So I chamged it immediately. I got a sticker shock of $300. No wonder the previous owner didn’t take care of that. It’s running even better. I’m strongly considering a similar set up like yours including the fan. I live in Florida and drive in stop and go traffic. Hopefully this will extend the life of the transmission. I even thought of selling the car but I like the style a lot. Thanks again for posting the video!!!

When you add the cooler. Drain the transmission fluid as much as you can. I spent about 80.00 on new transmission fluid. That will take care of that. 300 is a lot, no need for that. The cooler has really helped the car out. No whining noise during hot days. Good luck!

Very nice set up. I installed the Hayden model 516 cooler this past Good Friday on my 2013 Altima Coupe 2.5 S and so far so good. I don't have the extra fan but I like the one you have and plan on installing one as well. I heard about how bad these transmissions are after I bought the car used with 64,000 miles and though ...crap. Then I started searching CZcams because good people like you that post helpful stuff and thank God between the Orign Motors video and yours , I feel pretty good with my install, now just want to add the fan as extra help. I can't afford to pay for a trans rebuild.

I completely understand. Yes have seen a difference for sure. You can just purchase a 7” spal fan to put on the cooler. Probably be a lot cheaper just buying the fan. You’ll have to buy wire and a switch. Thank you for the kind words. My car has 183,xxx miles on it and trans is good. Also do a fluid change. You have to just use Nissan cvt fluid , you can get what’s app autozone or where ever.

Nice job! I hope it holds up for you.
2012 Altima with a trans code, and trans issue, now im searching YT to see if there are any fixes for it with rebuilding or replacing. Will never reccomend buying a CVT to anyone!
    Best of luck man

Hey Sean, I have a 2013 Infiniti JX35 with a stock cvt cooler, but the cvt hits 100F when idling. Do you think I could add this on to keep the temp down?

Dee So Smooth I didn’t see your post, sorry for the delayed response. All you’ll have to do is follow what I’ve done. Any external oil cooler will work. It comes with all the hoses and clamps. Plus you’ll need more trans fluid.

Ended up changing out that external trans filter also that Nissan claims doesn’t need to be serviced
