    I'm so proud of you Mazi Nkem Owoh, so coherent and articulate. I think Gowon should be questioned on the rationale behind his sarcastic "No victor no vanquish", Reconstruction, Rehabilitation and Reconciliation; Giving the Igbos just £20 out of their millions? Which invariably means that it was the Igbo people's money to rebuild other parts of the country.

    The Biafran revolution may seem random & sporadic to those who has no practical links to our people or those who benefit from the status quo at the expense of the masses.
    The masses in Igboland are simply sick & tired of suffering & smiling! So, we are unapologetically asking for a PEACEFUL referendum to decide our future.
    May I remind you again that; there is absolutely NO sacrosanctity in staying together, if such arrangement does not guarantee equitable opportunities for varying entities to dictate the preponderance of their growth, harnessing the resources at their disposal.
    It smacks of selfish disposition to insist that we must stay in the present circumstance in whatever guise.
    Nigeria as presently reconstituted, is an anathema in logic and in facts. The rise of Ndi Igbo in colonial Nigeria was seen as a threat not only to the “born to rule” Hausa-Fulani elites & their Yoruba counterparts, but also the British colonial government. The Colonial/Neo-Colonial structure of Nigeria, can ONLY be maintained by suppressing & halting the advances of Ndi Igbo who has the potential to change Nigeria. In 1966, The British backed Northern elites massacred 30,000 Igbos. Then, a genocidal war was waged against us for daring to be free. Since the end of that war, Igboland & Ndi Igbo has been treated like colonial subjects. We are free as long as we don't question the status quo, free as long as we suppress our ambition & igboness to please the sensibilities of non-Igbos, least we’ll arouse suspicion, expulsion and even massacre. Igbo politicians has also submitted to the Nigerian elites and ignored the legitimate grievances & aspirations of our people. Today, a new generation of Ndi Igbo are again refusing to live as second class citizens in our own land.
    The Nigerian system by its very nature, produces bad leadership bcos in the face of sustained mediocrity, people collectively lower their standards. We must exit this union and create a new system where very high standards are going to be set. Long live Biafra!

  • @zweeterion
    @zweeterion Před 7 lety +1

    Excellent interview.
    If there were no repression and marginalization in Nigeria, nobody will be talking of living separately. It is purely because some people have forgotten how the nation Nigeria was built that they have started maltreating other sections of the country and they think it's acceptable. Nigeria will either decide to live together by giving every section a right to develop their resources and develop themselves with Fulani hegemony or Nigeria will go the way of Yugoslavia and other places where the ruling class insisted on injustice and ethno-religious intolerance.
    Biafrans will NEVER continue to live as slaves or second class citizens inside Nigeria. Either they are full citizens of Nigeria or they are full citizens of their original country BIAFRA.

Enriching themselves with the tax payers money and chase the tax payers inside bush when they want to use their dirty and untared roads... Imagine Lagos tin can port road is a mess till today, oneeh port, rivers state road is shit, pH/Aba road is a disgrace @rotimiamechi minister of transportation is from Ph and yet woji road remains unmotorable, not to talk about Enugu/ph express or owerri/ph express.. Calling for Biafra is not calling for WAR. Its only those who don't want Biafra that pretentiously interpret it to be a call for war. Please Biafra does not mean war, it's simply a CHANGE OF NAME and SELF DETERMINATION. It is only those who don't want to grant it that turns it to war for reasons best known to them. After all, there are Ghanaians, Cameroonians, Liberians, Chinese etc. living and doing businesses in Nigeria, while Nigerians are also in these countries living and doing their businesses peacefully. It's as simple as Giving the Igbos their REFERENDUM and not ULTIMATUM to vacate from Nigeria to Nigeria, instead of from Nigeria to Biafra. If the unity of our country is so precious to us all and not negotiable, then we should go back to true physical Federalism. I believe in a true FEDERAL REPUBLIC OF NIGERIA and not a CENTRALIZED REPUBLIC OF NIGERIA that has been failing us for decades now. Its time to put a square peg in a square hole and not a square peg in a round hole. It will not fit inn, and forcing it will damage the structure.

    • @ufuomaodiete6694
      @ufuomaodiete6694 Před 7 lety +1

      You say calling for Biafra doesn't mean a call for war, what does it is either Biafra or Death mean? You call for a referendum which means you are giving the people the chance to say yes or no to Biafra, right? What if the populace say no and you have gone ahead to say it is either Biafra or death. So what happens then?

    • @EngrIsaacCOkereke
      @EngrIsaacCOkereke Před 7 lety +2

      Ufuoma, you should know that when there is any agitation anywhere, some lesser minded among them make statements that go far too extreme from the major point of the agitation. When you meet the real Igbo elites who
      are in position to make things happen, you will see that they have constitutional and decent approach to the call for Biafra. If the present government decides to grant the referendum today, those class of people shouting biafra or death are not even the people to preside over it. So nothing will happen if the populace say no in the referendum. There can be no war, who are they going fight again? they can't fight the government again because they have given them what they demanded and if there is any war to fight, it will be among themselves now. The government and the world will only seat back and watch the movie. As for my self, I repeat, I strongly believe in a true Fiscal Federalism that will heal all the wounds in Nigeria. Shalom!

      Opeyemi Odesanya : Good. If we the current Nigerians say we love ourselves truly. There should be a peaceful understanding and implementation of the transition, based on UN international treaties that allows one to have properties in any part of the world. Just as many Nigerians have houses in Dubai, US, UK etc. Ghanaians and other West African brothers have properties here in Nigeria. We'll still exchange commerce and technology like others. Shalom !

      So would you require a passport to enter Nigeria?
      Also would you pay tution fee paid by non-citizens?
      Also the government has rules stating that some businesses belong to citizens only, so would Biafrans let go of these businesses?
      And when they do, is there a provision for them to make ends meet?

    During the 20th century a number of troubled nations dissolved themselves to avoid continuing ethnic or intra-national conflict: Norway, Singapore, the Slovak and Czech Republics, former Soviet states are all products of partition. Norway-Sweden union dissolved in 1905; Singapore-Malaysia union dissolved in 1961. The Czechs and Slovaks (Czechoslovakia) dissolved in 1992. All these unions were far more successful in every respect than Nigeria, yet because of certain unresolved differences, the parties decided to respectfully go their separate ways.
    Among the wastage of lives to retain troubled national unions, Nigeria’s is the most catastrophic: Biafra cost 3 million lives (in contrast Chechnya has cost 200,000 lives; Yugoslavia, 260,000; Kashmir, 60,000; Sri Lanka, 70,000 and so on). Can anything justify such human sacrifice (which continues to this day)? NIGERIA-BIAFRA MARRIAGE IS PLAIN UNADULTERATED EVIL. THOSE PRAYING FOR IT TO ENDURE ARE BEING DEMONICALLY MANIPULATED.
    Nigeria-Biafra is a toxic marriage like the now dissolved toxic unions of Pakistan-India, Bangledish-Pakistan; Indonesia-Timor; Singapore-Malasia; UK-Ireland; Eritrea-Ethiopia and so many others (even Egypt and Sudan used to be one country; today 3 countries have emerged from that one country).
    Nigeria is the ONLY country of its size colonized by Britain that has not been divided for a better outcome. Let us stop punishing ourselves for nothing. Britain that created Nigeria has divided in our lifetime (into Britain and Ireland) and is preparing to divide again twice (externally via Brexit and internally via the second Scottish referendum). Why are some hearts so evil that they want future generation to grow up in this messy and deadly contraption you call a nation? God forbid!
