@@rubenbraekman4515 Well, yeah. You're effectively shoving 3 cylinders' worth of exhaust gasses through each pipe. The 767b and 787b had special vents for the exhaust to keep temperatures within limits, and that's only N/A. Rob's got a turbo, which increases back pressure and temperatures even more.

Rob, I haven't always been your biggest fan because you sometimes seem more focused on how you'll be perceived than on the build. This video - especially just after the burnout - is pure, emotional, real, and the exact opposite of that. Congratulations on this build, and massive respect for having the self-confidence to be vulnerable in public. Thank you for sharing your joy and overwhelm with us. That experience - that fear leading up to the thing, that adrenaline rush of doing it, and that massive fucking dopamine hit afterwards - is why we build interesting cars, and it's why we like to watch other people do it. Nice work. You earned every bit of that joy and adrenaline. This is an amazing car. You and your crew have done an amazing thing.
Thank you for that genuine comment. I was worried as there were things behind the scenes out of my control reflecting poorly on me. I took control of them and the last couple months have been so rewarding. the effort speaks for itself so I don’t have to. The car is an insane rush to drive

When the car is done take it to a regular tire shop and ask for a wheel alignment or take to a Mazda dealership for a service lol

When following the livestream of the Hoonigan event. We could here you starting up the 4 rotor while they were doing an interview standing next to another car. Totally distracting everyone - 10k people in the livestream chat, and the only thing you could read in chat was 'Rob Dahm' and '4 rotor'.

Man if it survived that, it is SOLID. You were on sticky-ass, rubber coated concrete with wide, sticky tires and AWD. And it handled a 7,000rpm (probably 600-700awhp) clutch drop like a boss. Well done on making an amazing car. I’ve never built anything as ambitious as your RX-7, but I’ve built a lot of things in my life. Days like this, when it all comes together and works as intended are priceless. Congratulations!
It was so sick in the bleachers during the event because when that 4 rotor first fired up, half the crowd turned their heads because of how loud it was at idle

@@matthewmcnally2003 not 100% sure but I'm guessing it's just a bit of left over fuel which ignites in the hot manifold.
@@matthewmcnally2003 injectors are far from the rotors, when the ignition shuts off there is still fuel on its way inside the engine and as the rotors rev down they pump that fuel out in the hot exhaust system and it goes bang

Much respect for Rob the only man who spends thousands on a project that has never been done before and just absolutely beats on it right from the rip. If it breaks it breaks and this thing has surprised me a lot thus far. Biggest surprise is that its actually completed.

Rob Dahm is such a perfectionist that's why none of his cars ever get finished fully and when I say finish fully I mean that they work without any problems every time he goes out there are problems and I mean major problems

LOL, the engine on my concrete cutting saws did that too when shut off hot, because they had mechanical fuel pumps and 40 lb flywheels. So, on shutdown, it would move a lot of fuel through the cylinders, into the muffler, where it would explode lol.

When I first saw this thing at SEMA back a couple of years I thought "nothing is impossible" and seeing it rip all fours tied to the wall!!!! This car, Hert's Twerk Stallion, Brill Steel S14 and the Aussie white Taco/Hilux have been my top web builds
