Running into a firefight with a gun is heroic. Running into a firefight with a medical bag is insane. Kudos Doc.
If you're interested, here is his Silver Star citation where he rescues and treats 2 wounded Iraqi soldiers(But unfortunately, according to Jocko Willink and Kevin Lacz in their books, the first one ended up dying):
KIM, JONATHAN Y.
Citation:
The President of the United States of America takes pleasure in presenting the Silver Star to Special Warfare Operator Second Class (SEAL) Jonathan Y. Kim, United States Navy for conspicuous gallantry and intrepidity in action against the enemy while serving as Naval Special Warfare Task Unit-RAMADI Combat Advisor and Hospital Corpsman for Naval Special Warfare Task Group-Arabian Peninsula in direct support of Operation IRAQI FREEDOM on 26 June 2006. Petty Officer Kim was Combat Advisor to an Iraqi Army platoon conducting a combined presence patrol with Naval Special Warfare in South-Central Ar Ramadi in a dangerous insurgent-held neighborhood. As the patrol entered a residence, elements on the street came under heavy enemy fire. Observing a wounded Iraqi soldier lying helplessly 30 meters across an exposed street, Petty Officer Kim, with complete disregard for his own safety, ran through a hail of gunfire with another SEAL to reach the wounded Iraqi soldier. With rounds ricocheting off the street around him, he courageously dragged the wounded soldier to the safety of the courtyard. Moments later, another Iraqi soldier was hit in the head inside the courtyard. Again, he exposed himself to enemy fire and dragged the second wounded soldier inside the house and rendered combat casualty care. Through his heroic actions and courage under fire, Petty Officer Kim saved an Iraqi soldier's life. By his bold initiative, undaunted courage, and complete dedication to duty, Petty Officer Kim reflected great credit upon himself and upheld the highest traditions of the United States Naval Service.
@@unitedstatesofamerica9948 Thank you very much for reaching out and providing me with further incite. He truly is someone to look up to. Figuratively and literally.
He ran in with both!
@@Becarhodzic Yes, he did. Valiantly.
@@JL-fx5cm And, with a sniper rifle as well. Well, maybe not in firefights. And, led the way first in line as the point man. Starting on his first deployment.
Navy Seal, MD, and Astronaut! Dr. Kim is the DEFINITION of achievement!
You forgot Spartan impersonator
Harvard graduate
Wrong.
Now he just needs to round out that resume with writer, actor, director and President!
Ha! Ha!
also a support sniper.
Jocko does his own impressions pretty good. Sounded just like jocko
Goggins is no joke but this guy is the real deal 🥷🏼
Big difference between JK and Goggins brother.
Love Goggins and all he stands for but JK actually deployed to combat and was involved in some of the most brutal battles of the Iraq war.
ST3 was the most highly decorated SOF unit in the Iraq war for a reason.
Im starting to be convinced that Jonny Kim is America's favorite son. Not by favoritism, not by hereditary aristocracy, not by "dIvErsity", not by nepotism but by the accounts of many, he was a caring, honourable, brave and self-less teammate. Glad to see this hero walk amongst earth during our lifetime.
its not what you say about you but what others say about you. just take a look at anyone that has intersected with him say Seals, doctors, astronauts, regular people etc
Would he be there for diversity if ran as a democrat?
Humility is one of those intangibles that makes a SEAL.
The other 90% of SEALs are still trying to find it
@@sailguns9332 Leif Babin once said that he's never met any warfighter that's been through intense combat that wasn't the most humble person you've ever met. Ego and Pride are necessary things to have to be successful, just not to the point that you hinder or don't listen to others.
I've read and heard numerous accounts of soldiers saying that SEALs are quite arrogant and self important.
@@andreboy1 the best of them are the opposite.
We found one thing Johnny Kim is not good at Doing impressions of other people. Lol.
I thought he was spot on lol
lol!
Way to go Mr. Kim.
Well,no one can be good at everything...even Jonny Kim!
Ha! Ha!
Presidential candidate in his 50's........wouldn't surprise me.
No. People who really deserve it would never be president
And do good....

I swear Jonny kim is the beginning of the real star trek
hahaha
Jonny "Superman" Kim, an exceptional and humble human being.
And his parents are probably still disappointed in him 🤣
Nope. He even exceeded his dad's expectations.
Yep. Should be president, rock-star & neurosurgeon on top of all that. Wasted potential.

His father's dead, actually and has been for almost 20 years but I'm sure his mother's extremely proud of him and everything he's accomplished.
That was a low key Asian joke. I'm sure he's not serious. Calm down
@@landogriffin4030 i think most people understand that its a joke, except that this joke is in no way applicable to jonny kim.
This dude needs to run for president
Got my vote
He’s a warrior that has moved on in life, but is haunted by his youth!
Jonny Kim is the ultimate American hero
Except for my parents, there is nobody that I have more respect for then Jonny Kim and Jocko Willink. I can’t think of any other people who are better examples of leadership and integrity. I really would love for the both of them to enter politics and show the country what those qualities can do to help settle down this anger-filled land. They would Listen to both sides of discussions, and come to agreements via compromise. I know that this sounds like fantasy-land speak, but, I’ll gladly listen to any other ideas. I also think that this is selfish on my part. These men have families and their own goals and dreams. And they already have served this country, and they should be left to enjoy their lives. I believe that they have earned this right.
tu lam is also pretty cool
What if it's nothing but a doctrine created by Hollywood? Afterall, everything you know is simply googled, which has been proven in 2020 that the ones who pay the most will have their info on googles top search results
The fact that you have parents you can respect that much is a blessing, they would probably tell you to use that to spread good to others. Jonny Kim and Jocko Willink would not consider life worth living where you live for nothing but yourself - considering how they and their friends have risked or gave their lives in the name of a greater mission or saving innocent lives. It's about making a positive impact on others, the world, especially young people and those struggling who are invisible or have a conflicted path in life.
I'd like to see Jonny run for presidency after being an astronaut
Yo Jocko put some WD-40 on that chair
Made me lol 😂
Chair squeaks? Good.
It will sharpen my concentration skills.
2 mutual fin heroes. Autocorrect got me
Remarkable human beings.

Wow
Talk about an under achiever. Pfff didn’t even become president...
Ps
Sarcasm people... Jonny Kim is awesome 👍🏼👍🏼
I knew immediately you were being sarcastic but thought to myself there will be many who will take offense. Sad you have to let people know your messing around so people don't get outraged. But seriously he's one hell of an amazing man.

Haha maybe but I think you’re underestimating Jocko’s fans. My sarcasm often goes over peoples heads but I think I’m good here 😉
Your right. Here with Jockos fan's I don't see anyone misinterpreting your sarcasm which is so nice knowing there still people who enjoy good humor haha I briefly forgot where I was lol

Ya man I’d say Jocko and Andy Stumpf are probably tied for the coolest fans. Nothing but positivity in their comment sections.
Sarcasm duly noted but Jonny Kim is what,37,I think?
Give him time.He can still become President.
why are there likes on this video theres no impression?
0:40
I was thinking the same thing.
I said that ironically since it's more of a mild lighthearted "mock" than a true effort at an impersonation, I did not expect anyone to take it seriously. A possible reason some people liked this was perhaps that people respect Jonny Kim's overall path and decision at that point to become a physician after deploying to Ramadi as a Navy SEAL. To each their own.
@@unitedstatesofamerica9948 clickbait but I still enjoyed it, god bless you!
Cause Jonny Kim is the man.
I'm by far the most insane person in the world. Let that sink in.
I feel like a main mission is complete hearing Kim impersonating Jocko
There is no Asain boy out there that can top JK in thr proud parent category. Sucks about his dad in stuff.
Makes me feel very small
I wonder if he will become president next?
Great impersonator to boot!
