Also, the scene where Yuu calls him Tsunotaro in front of everyone and they all freak out is probably my favorite scene in the entire story so far.
God, SAME! That scene in ch. 5 makes me laugh every time cuz now everyone knows who Mc's referring to when they say Tsunotauro. I've now got this headcanon where people don't mess with Yuu simply because they know they're friends with the infamous Malleus Draconia & they're afraid of pissing him off by hurting Yuu. XD
I laughed so hard at the moment when everyone freaked out about mc calling Malleus by Tsunotaro. Mc says that Malleus was okay with being called that and that he's not as scary as everyone says he is once you get to know him. Malleus is such an interesting character. When you first look at him he certainly is intimidating. He's tall and dark with intense eyes and a mysterious smile. But in reality he's very pure and even child-like at times. The way he expresses his emotions freely like a child is very cute to me. 🤭 I love how enthusiastically he tries to impress us or make us happy just because we're his first real friend. I also love watching him interact with the others, especially Leona. I fully believe that Malleus only goes along with their rivalry because Leona doesn't fear him and he actually finds it entertaining. Really I could watch Malleus all day because he's so fun. 😊

I was initially attracted to his character design (I have a type and it's goth looking guys, lol) Then I started watching these wonderful translations so I can find out more about the storyline and characters and OMG! Malleus just has the sweetest personality!!! 😍😍😍😍 He may be fictional but if I were Yuu, I'd make it my mission at NRC to make sure he got invited to everything and ensure people gave him a chance and got to know him. There's nothing scary about this dragon boy other than his immense power. And it breaks my heart how incredibly mean people are to him and he could 100% retaliate without anyone knowing it was him, but he instead he seems to take things in stride and doesn't lash out when people treat him like he doesn't have feelings. Halloween seemed to be an exception, but with that "Draconia challenge" I don't really blame him for losing it. The rest of the dorms had people about ready to murder as well and about more minor issues. All I'm saying is if Mal really existed and I was fortunate enough to know him, people would have far more to fear from me than Malleus if they treated him badly regardless of whether I had magic or not. 😁 😉

Yes, Malleus has already shown his support and appreciation towards yuu many times in the game but the problem is how there are some fans who *insist* Malleus is in love with yuu, while all he does is caring for a friend he wishes to get to know more and keep close. In a logical light there hasn't been a single romantic conversation between them and it's totally normal for someone to tell their friends stuff like: "I really want you to enjoy this holiday" or "I'd really be sorry to lose someone like you". @@sofiasantiago631 I believe I didn't clear my point, my bad: It's absolutely nothing wrong with shipping them, I myself ship Malleus x Yuu/Mc, the problem is when people insist a ship is canon, which in Malleus's case isn't necessary so. Yes, Malleus has already shown his support and appreciation towards yuu many times in the game but the problem is how there are some fans who *insist* Malleus is in love with yuu, while all he does is caring for a friend he wishes to get to know more and keep close. In a logical light there hasn't been a single romantic conversation between them and it's totally normal for someone to tell their friends stuff like: "I really want you to enjoy this holiday" or "I'd really be sorry to lose someone like you". Yes, yuu means a lot for him BUT the problem with this fandom is how a majority of the Western fandom insists on this being sign of a *romantic interest* while it's totally possible for it to be a platonic one. The problem is not people shipping them, it's insisting on sth which isn't necessary canon and saying stuff like: "Malleus is definitely canonically in love with yuu!" You know it's not like Malleus is a helplessly romantic Prince or sth and keep that in mind that Malleus and Yuu don't even know each other any well. As I said, there's absolutely nothing wrong with shipping them BUT Malleyuu is still a *fanon* relationship. And IF they ever decide to turn it into a canon ship, nothing shown in the story so far really implies that he is romantically interested in yuu, that's the point. So for now at least Malleyuu is a FANON ship and not canon. And no I don't mind people saying Malleus doesn't even know twst isn't an otome game or whatever this was just a heads up so that people won't forget regardless of how adorable this ship is there's still a fine line between canon and fanon.
