@@CodepageNet I dont think so. I mean they get a very very low amount of money for Spotify streaming but that's only good if you have like more than a Million listeners. Metallica, Iron Maiden etc. Get a lot from that. But to help Bands that haven't that attention it is the Best to by their physical stuff. Shirts, CD, Vinyl, patches, etc. I don't even use Spotify or something else except CZcams. But I still buy the Vinyl.
They could publish another batch of official patches so my vest wouldnt have to have a bootleg one on it.

After a complete and full listen, I must say that Kevin Heybourne continues to write music with a modern approach that harkens back to the original 1980 debut album. Very impressive.

Antonio Cdja it becomes apparent so many people never heard about Angel Witch and know nothing of NWOBHM because mass media support only alternative hybrid metal or crap american mallcore.
Agree! there is a powerfull new wave of tradicional heavy metal right now and nobody is talking about it in metal mass-medias.
Douglas Fisher in the 90s all of the metal and hard rock magazines along with mass media at large criminally hid the history of NWOBHM because record companies decided to support only grunge or extreme metal. Nowadays they keep on hiding the hystory of NWOBHM in order to support crap music. At least in the 90s there were some great death metal bands that didn't forget about their roots. Of course NWOBHM remains an underground movement but it's our religion and it represents the true spirit of traditional heavy metal. Some bands like Iron Maiden and Saxon became legends and layed down the law.
@@riccardosilla4758 Nobody's hiding any history man, it's all out there for people to research, and arguably, the NWOBHM bands have always had huge support, but there's just too fucking many pretty much playing the same shit while other genres evolved. Big labels will only support the stuff they think will sell, BTW Metal Blade is a relatively big label in Metal, so I don't think they're necessary not supporting NWOBHM.

I bought the first Angel Witch album on vinyl in 1980 in a small import record shop in NY which I frequented on Saturdays twice each month.. Back then, these import shops were the only source for finding an album like this in the states. I valued the shop owner's recommendations as he never did steer me wrong. It's now 40 years later... a wave of nostalgia hits me dead on as I see myself in my younger days in that little shop checking out the cover art of what was the new Angel Witch. The shop owner spins a sample on the turntable as I become an instant fan of the band and the album I'll be taking home with me this day. Thanks to the legendary Angel Witch for the 40 years and hopefully the many years that are yet to come.
What was the name of the store? I used to buy from an import store called Zig Zags and another called Slipped Disc.
@@brigham2250 After reading your reply, I tried so hard to remember the name of that shop and even googled rare record stores including those no longer in business, but came up with nothing. Perhaps there's a better way to do a search. I don't live too close by there nowadays, but it was located on Central Avenue (just off Jackson Ave at the overpass) in Yonkers, NY. (possibly even on the border of or in Scarsdale).

This album is every bit as good as their debut album in 1980, one of the top NWOBHM bands then, one of my faves along with Maiden, Priest, Saxon, Tygers of Pan Tang, Diamond Head, Def Leppsrd, Motorhead.
So glad you guys finally recorded studio version of "The Night is Calling", one of the most atmospheric AW songs, imo. Waited for it since I heard it for the very first time. Thank you for this album. Absolutely love it.

Surprised to see a new album from Angel Witch! I like the opening track so far, album opener sounds FANTASTIC!!!!! Their debut album is still one of my favorite albums of ANY genre of music, and easily stands the test of time as a Heavy Metal landmark. It ages very well and shows their immense talent as songwriters. Every song stands on it’s own. On to track two and this one sounds great as well! Angel Witch, class act in Heavy Metal.
Love the abundance of inverted power chords. I do this when i play because i love the dark evil sound. Can make even standard tune riff become a face melter.
Saw them loads of times back in the early days....there used to be an all nighter in a club in Soho , where they played three sets !! Kevin H took a hit from a smokestack in set 2 and couldn't see much , but carried on playing anyway. Legendary band 🤘🤘🤘

I knew about Angel Witch from the get go. I got their first album right when it came out. They were never going to break into my holy trinity.
The three greatest bands from NWOHM are Saxon, Angel Witch, and to a lesser extent Samson.
Iron maiden had 2 great first albums with Paul Dianno.
When he left, they promptly dissapered up their asshole and pulled the ladder Up .

I have tried to on 5 occasions, never got more than half way through.
On each occasion, I was conspiring on ways to end my life.

Drink rat poison.
Walk out Infront of a bus.
Iron maiden have been irrelevant for year.
The only 2 albums that are decent since Dianno left are Piece of Mind.
Somewhere in Time.
Back to Angel Witch.
They may not have the back catalogue of maiden but they would destroy them on a one to basis.
Already I am listening to Angel Witch 2019 and I am already through half of this great album. In what, 25 minutes. My holy trinity are thus, because they get in and know when it's time to get the fuck out of a song.
Less, is indeed more. Something that Angel Witch know.
Wow! Just found this band today and I can't believe what I've been missing out on. So happy that there are still bands staying true to the old school sound while making modern music. An inspiration for sure.

This just proves that in they traveled back in time from 2019 to cut their debut album in 1980, but they ended up younger versions of themselves. Like other commenters I bought their original album in the early 80's. And now they still sounds the same. The spirit never ages.

You mean the Nemesis version was a nice tribute to Angel Witch.
Sorry man, AW wrote this song in the early 80s and Nemesis ripped it off, Nemesis were the ones paying tribute (stealing the song actually 😂). Angel Witch just decided to officially record it as they should have done 40+ years ago.

My favourite nwobhm band is Diamond Head, second best is Jaguar..Then Angel Witch, Savage, Tygers of Pan Tang, Tank, Blitzkrieg.

Mario Croatia you have a good taste in music! my favourite NWOBHM bands are Satan, Cloven Hoof, Angel Witch, Saxon, Witchfinder General, Tysondog, Savage, Blitzkrieg and obviously Iron Maiden.
Andy H in my view the purpose of NWOTHM is to support young blood and it's alright but you have to praise NWOBHM to keep the flame alive. NWOBHM is a form of culture !
