Yes Jamel!!! I’m so so happy you’re listening to savage garden. This was my childhood. Their music literally saved me from some tough times. Their two albums are fantastic. Darren Hayes is also an amazing singer songwriter on his own. Look his songs up, the words are phenomenal and so truthful and relatable.
When I was 19 back in the year 2000, my gf at the time won tickets to see them live. I bitched and moaned as she dragged me because I was into skate punk and hip hop only. They were so awesome in concert. They were probably one of the groups that made me realize I was missing out on great music because of my close-mindedness.
For me it was 98. This song was in heavy rotation on the radio and at that time all I had was a room I was renting and a radio. So this song always takes me back to laying in bed after a long night shift and shower with my first long term girlfriend. At 19 the room, radio, and stupid young love was all we needed.
Well said. I skated back then to flat out. The guitarist went to my high school. Use to globe to globe world cup each year. I skated at river side with Ryan Sheckler and few others. Met Rodney Mullen, Elisha Streamer. In 2000 I was 13 it was cool shit. The good old days
Jamel… These guys are an Australian group & enjoyed enormous success on our local charts here & also overseas. Their music is still played very frequently on radio stations here thanks to overwhelming demand from fans 🇦🇺✌️😁✌️🇦🇺
Sta. Monica is a hidden gem in their first album which is a total ear worm, I remembered I played that tape to death, right now it is still in my spotify playlist that brings me back to my childhood.
Jamel… Savage Garden consists of Darren Hayes (lead vocals) & Daniel Jones (instruments & backing vocals) & were formed in Brisbane, Australia, back in 1993. One of their most successful songs was a number called “Affirmation” & other hits of theirs include “Truly, madly, deeply”, “The Animal song” & “I knew I Ioved you” ✌️😁🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺
Hits include: "I Want You", "To The Moon And Back", "Truly Madly Deeply", "The Animal Song", "I Knew I Loved You", "Crash and Burn", "Affirmation" & "Hold Me".
Savage Garden was HUGE in the 90s while I was in high school! This song was featured on a lot of soundtracks, and was used in an early-ish episode of "Dawson's Creek". Such a great track!

Love Savage Garden. Great Aussie band. Check out "Crash And Burn", "Affirmation", "To The Moon And Back", "I Knew I Loved You", "Two Beds And A Coffee Machine"... I could go on but that's a good start.

It's so funnyvthat this was their first track, because if you ask most people who remember Savage Garden, they will mention the ballads "Truely Madly Deepky" and "I Knew I loved You". Darren Hayes, as such an amazing voice.
