If this show was released in the 60s, it would be cancelled after the first episode or season.
I am starting to watch this soon. Can’t wait!
Loss of a parent and/or spouse and the struggles to lead a family as a brother/son or widowed mother, judgment from society and family based on life choices, struggles with growth due to parental abuse and neglect, pressures to fulfill certain societal expectations. This show is perfection and I am so excited to see Polin come to fruition in Season 3
I wouldn’t call it an issue, but I really admire the inclusion of plus sized characters. Shows and movies usually focus on the conventionally pretty people. But this show includes everyone, no matter the shape or size.
I would definitely like to see characters with disabilities, not just physically, but mentally as well, especially one of them being the love of interest to the Bridgerton is
King George III had mental illness and they showed how it was treated back then
Queen Charlotte covered mental disability and there is a physically disabled man featured in Episode 2 or 3 of this season
@@theechubbyone oh I didn’t know. I meant as main characters
@amycollins5984 Most of Queen Charlotte deals with the King's mental illness. It's almost the entire plot of the show.
@@siniebeck4821 I know sorry 😞
The 2nd time I watch queen charlotte cried so much during the ending
Only 1 more day until part 1 of season 3 starts for Bridgerton! 🎉 Just an observation, the powder that was mixed in the tea was highly doubtful to be opium powder as that would have created a very sedated, "zoned out" state or even passed out in his case because he added waayyy more than the "pinch" recommend. It was likely a mushroom derivative or something similar to Peyote or LCD. Have a glorious rest of the week beautiful people!! 🥰
historically *laudanum (extracted from opium)* was the most common substance to be abused, seconded only by snuff
I love love LOVE that Ms. Mojo knows when I’m listening to my Bridgerton audiobooks! ❤❤❤
The only thing I can expect from Bridgerton is that Eloise will resume her friendship with Penelope and Penelope will give Lady Whistleton and start a new life together with Colin
Child neglect and child abandonment and the trauma stemming from it is literally Simon's story! Would've loved to see it in the video.
I'm so glad I'm not the only one who got the impression that Benedict might be bi. Queen Charlotte was such a beautiful portrayal of loving someone with a mental illness.
Seeing the scene with Danbury and Simon on how many people before him had to work and earn their tiltes unlike the other noble families who simply inherited them. Especially when they mentioned the Queen. Both were challenged by the demands of society and the crown. It means more because they are just as equal and rightful as the rest of the ton. Long Live Queen Charlotte, Lady Danbury and Lady Whistledown.
Love Bridgerton ❤
Why did you ignore the emotional abuse Simon Hastings had endured as a child? It had played a major role during Season 1. Badly done, Watch MOJO. Badly done.
The bee scene made me cry when I watch it for the first time 😢
Class differences. Benedict and Sophie. Just please!
In the book Anthony wasnt with his dad when he died.
Eloise sees it happening
I’d like to see anxiety represented & also a neurodivergent character
Francesca
The depiction of George III’s mental illness and Charlotte’s relationship with him is so poignantly portrayed and the brief moments of lucidity we see and Charlotte’s pain when he regresses again just make my heart ache. My father had Alzheimer’s and I watched my mum go through hell every time he had moments of clarity and then sank back into the darkness of dementia. I know it’s not the same as whatever mental illness King George had but to lose your loved one whilst they’re right there in front of you is unbearably painful.
I've loved this series all the way through. I've recently just watched part one of season three, I loved they showed a deaf character in a scene. I hope to see more in the future.
Happy wednesday afternoon, Kirsten. Take care and God bless you. Greetings from Colombia to you as well.
Thank you! You too!
Please make one for static shock (2000) and miraculous: tales of ladybug and cat noir
Of course, Jonathan/Anthony made the ideal thumbnail for the video LOL.
I'll always think Colin Bridgerton is the biggest jerk out of his family
Its great that they included sign language in S3
"all their possessions became their husbands upon marriage" is incorrect. They had no possessions before marriage, they were the "property" of their fathers and then became "property" of their husbands. Their fathers paid a dowry that was for the couple household but managed by the husband, unless the father specified that part of it was for when his daughter became a widow.
That is wrong, unmarried women could own and dispose of property once they became of age, but you are right once married hubby got it all (unless a contract states differently)
A topic to cover in Bridgerton would be slavery. They already have a varied cast, one where the face to face nature of slavery would be traumatizing for some. England didn’t abolish slavery until 1834, so it was still a thing for cheap labor in all industries.
Oh they totally should, they just have to figure out a way after the Queen Charlotte experiment, maybe something like, a few older characters looking down on people or having slaves, but with the world how Shonda wrote it, it could be pass as a shity employer, so they have to be really obvious with it, but yeah they should
Idk if you all are blk, but as a blk woman, im really enjoying the show and the romance. Slavery would be too much of a trigger to enjoy the show the same. I for once want to watch something fancy free...and not be heavy and sad
@@nishashawn2021 I’ll admit it, I’m a mutt. By that I mean I’m of Hispanic mixed heritage: black, Spaniard, and Taino. This is not as much a trigger for me as it is to some. I understand where you are coming from; but to some being an unmarried pregnant woman is triggering. Being confronted with a homosexual couple could be triggering. Everyone has some trigger; it does not need to be focused on to enjoy a fun show, but are good topics to be reminded that they exist.
Benedict high as a kite was the only time I ever liked his character
You missed an issue... that Penelope could only have been a professional writer by hiding her identity.
Some people on reddit were calling what daphne did tantamount to rape. Hard for me to go that far given a man's strength and size can easily overpower a woman but it is an interesting notion.
You missed daphne being pressured to marry nigel
Can you do a video of South Park scrapped charecters
Re the homophobia - BBCs Sandition dealt with this beautifully in their final season.
there was nothing wrong with having "fake" jewelry, as *paste (variety of glass) was considered socially acceptable* in the absence of real precious stones since Ancient Egypt (faience (another variety of glass) also functioned as jewelry), hence Colin's reveal should not have been that "dramatic" (though I do agree about the part of revealing the falsehood of the precious stone itself)
I agree, I actually wear paste jewellery because there’s so many more varieties than the real deal. Plus I’d rather buy a paste, & use the difference between it, & the real deal for my bills.
@@myname7056 paste jewelry was actually recommended for dress parties
Season one: African
Season two: India
Season three: Asian
What's next... Hispanic or Native Indians?
Indians are Asians genius
They're South Asian, by Asian I assume you meant East Asian or Southeast Asian
💌💌💌
penelope, weight and image issues also how society can be very unforgiving one day but then sucking up to you the next. also forced marriage as Antony tried to do to daphne
I love how you say the alphabet😂😂😂
She’s English …… speaking English 🤷♀️
If this show was released in the 60s, it would be cancelled after the first episode.
Star Trek was produced in the 60's and it introduced many ground breaking concepts and tackled many similar issues during its run. It also featured television's first interracial kiss, so I'm not sure Bridgerton would be as out of place as you think.
