    I was hypnotized 4 years ago to quit smoking cigarettes. I haven’t smoked since than. I remember going into deep trance. From time to time I came out of trance during the session, I kept thinking to myself, how much longer will this be, I want to go smoke lol. I can recall bits and pieces. Leaving the office I was sure it didn’t work. But on my way home I didn’t have the urge.
    But I wonder if being hypnotized could affect your memory?

      To answer your question, I personally have been hypnotised and sometimes I remember everything - and then there are other times I don’t remember much at all.
      It’s connected to many aspects: how deep you go into trance, how aware your conscious mind is through the process, how much information your subconscious feels it should share with your conscious mind - and then there is also the induction techniques and hypnotic techniques used by your hypnotist or hypnotherapist. So if you can remember bits and pieces it sounds like the times of trance were very deep and very effective !
      There is a technique called post-hypnotic amnesia where subjects are unable to recall information from the session due to suggestions given - however I have never experienced this.

      @@MindsetBodySpirit yes, you did thanks! Now I have a better understanding of what I experienced. At times I questioned myself, wondering if I lost a part of who I am, from the suggestions. Thinking about it now, I am not the same after letting go of that habit. But thanks again and I enjoy your videos. :)

      @@snl7726 I’m happy it’s helped. Even though some trances can feel like a total mystery when are under, our subconscious mind will never take up a suggestion, or even accept a suggestion it does not want to move forward with.
      So even though our conscious mind is out of the picture or completely quiet in hypnosis, our subconscious mind is always protecting us.
      Changing a habit like smoking is a life-changer in itself! That alone brings different behavioural and mindset shifts which can make you feel like a completely different person.
      I quit smoking many decades ago and I know how much it rocks your whole world.
