@@R3GARnator eh reiksguard at tier 3 r pretty unstopabble with karl and gelt can still get 1 winds searing doom as for the rest of ur armies its annoying with missile units not shooting in wh3 but if u know what ur doing u should be able to handle chaos
@@eshaan570 + having anti large on ranged units (huntsmen) can be really good against their large units. If you get magic attack on their ranged attacks, they can be really strong with tech and lord boosts. Especially for the Huntsmarshal's expedition. Markus Wulfhart can boost huntsmen really nicely (which is pretty much needed against lizardmen). If you manage to disrupt their formation with something, and make them not come at you at once, but in small portions, the huntsmen can rain down hell on the enemy pretty nicely with some focus fire, destroying the strongest monstrous unit in no time. However the dinos can walk through your infantry pretty easily though.

Ironically the army that got sacrificed had a higher survival rate than the one that actually held the hill lol
Higher leadership units that fight to the death. I don't know what this dude was thinking though spamming Greatswords with one unit of outriders. That is not how you play Empire. Dude even has a Witch Hunter in the army but with no missile units, his best ability "Accusation" is totally wasted.
@@ktvindicareto be fair swordsmen and greatswords can be buffed enough with karl to be ok in the early game but def couldbe used missile units

You can take Legend out of the Skaven, but you can't take the Skaven out of Legend.
This battle has that old school Legend feel and I love it.
Must have been the classic Legend combo of Karl Franz making a stand, flinging burning heards and a wiff of *d e m o n e t i z a t i o n* risk

Edit: Also i think this might be the first actually impactful use of the oil flask ability i've seen since the Hunter and the Beast was released
God that ability sucks. Short range, takes forever to cast, often misses the target.

I would say the oil flask ability is a good ass reason to use the banner of eternal flame and a fire wizard. Just seems like a really entertaining combo, especially against regenerating factions or factions that are particularly weak to fire damage. Hard to justify though when Empire has access to life magic.
I think I've seen it used Once in one of Turin's videos some years back.

Festus also got a nice bounce in on Legend's flank early on in phase 2 it was lucky to be cast there instead of the frontline.
The Threshold is always less than 20% if loosing, less than 5% if winning for units to die

I'm new to total war but I love LOVE warhammer, been loving playing total warhammer 3 lately but I never played the old games so I'm not sure how they compare but I'm absolutely loving it and expect it will keep me covered for my gaming needs for the next year at least.
Loving your content so far I'm learning so so much! Playing Bretonnia at the moment and I really suck at the game but I'm finding it's getting so much more fun as I get better at the battles simply because I've been watching your videos. The Grail Knights right now are GLORIUS.
One thing I never understand is that when I look at peoples games they have just huge economies and always lots of money but I feel like I never have any money and I've structured my early campaign all about choosing money buildings and money research first so that it will steamroll later (at least I hoped). I don't understand how they do it I feel like I'm constantly up against a wall, attackers from all sides that require investment in armies so my upkeep is high and I can barely keep my income at about 3k per turn at about turn 50 I think I am now. I think my campaign is pretty healthy and I just got the short victory. Probably wanna go for the ultimate campaign victory and I plan to play most factions and one of the chaos or evil factions I want to do a total war attempt and take over the whole map. Loving it.

I literally had NO CLUE that you could just up and move your reinforcement location until LoTW just casually clicked and dragged it over… Only been playing warhammer for a few months..
True right. I already got 100+hrs of this game and somehow still forget some kind of formation or the terrain situation. The learning process of this game made me love this game and it kind of remind me when i play bloodborne and beat father gascoine for the first time after almost an hour.
All melee infantry empire army with no healing, sometimes I'm fascinated by the armies people make no matter how nonsensical they are.
Seriously, good luck with the vampire counts and chaos tide if the rest of his armies are like this one...

Not having healing (I.E not getting a jade wizard and having no other wizard capacity) at turn 36 is understandable. Having that much of the (very inferior) Empire frontline and no ranged units is not.

I think I am relatively good at manually fighting battles in this game. But not great at using the map to my advantage. These videos are great educational pieces to learn how to properly use the map to its fullest and can definitely say the battle disaster videos help a lot with how to win what seems to be at first what would be un winable.
I feel like Shogun 2 was really good for using the map. Every map had hills, and little forests, that could really make a difference.
Once I was attacked by 2 full stacks of empire soldiers as Vampire Counts and I was trying to make my way to the other end of the map so I could occupy a very defensible hill area with lots of trees, where their archers would be less effective. The problem was they caught me in force march and all my soldiers were exhausted, and they were undead, so they were even slower than normal. The map was huge, with a massive swamp on one side, and a huge forested hill on the other, with a road running down the middle. I had to sacrifice two skeleton units just to buy enough time for my main army to get up on the hill. Those brave undead soldiers fought so hard and for so long, it honestly makes me sad. I'll never forget you skelliebros, even though we lost that battle.

I never seen Legend sacrificing troops in this scale before. He has reached another level of Skaven
The Empire are pretty good at this, but Kislev are the undisputed masters of achieving victory by burning human life like kerosene.
The banner of eternal flame on the carroburg greatswords was actually pretty useful here. Normally that banner sucks, but with Kindleflame and the Huntsman general weakness to fire ability, it added a ton of damage.

Why didn’t you hold the chockepoint with 2 units at a time and trickled in the reinforcements with a nice charge bonus, this would have also reduced the blobbing you had going on there haha

How can you tell when a unit is completely wiped out? Is it less than 10% of the remaining entities?
Less than 20% entities in unit remaining if you lose the battle, less than 5% if you win
i just bought all the dlc and now my game is bugged. the norsca cinematic (the sound) plays immediately when starting the game and it loops endlessly even when in the game and playing. i dont know what to do i even uninstalled and reinstalled the game. has anyone else have a problem with this or know what could help?

I wanted it to work, but Empire is best when they are shooting things, and Halberds hold the line better. Maybe a few greatswords to flank and/or rush the gaps in the walls for a siege. Luckily, Reiksguard work great with Franz.

Is it just me, or is placing Festus directly in the middle of the Empire on of the WORST decisions CA has ever made? A relatively weak and divided faction, and Festus rolls them every single time I play a campaign. Between him and the Vampire Counts, by the time another Warriors of Chaos factions makes its way over, the Empire is already irrelevant and laughably weak.
I keep seeing Be'lakor heading to Marienburg/Couronne and then taking out Reikland as well. I can't even remember the last time I saw an Empire AI do anything of note. If they put Tamurkhan anywhere close to the Empire than it'll double down on the Chaostide even harder.
It's a lot more fun a campaign if you're actually playing Reikland, is the flip side of course. The Reikland campaign in Warhammer 2 basically gave you two options: conquer Brettonia, (Not really what you should be doing in either game or lore terms) or take a nap until you were ready to fight Mannfred, and then take another nap afterwards.

@@kupiercerberus904 You don't really need vassals as Reikland, not like you do as the Warriors of Chaos, your economy is significantly better. The good news on elector counts getting wiped out is you can revive them by occupying their settlements (Which you should do) and you can also give ruined settlements in their 'core' territory back to them, which you also should do. Basically you want to rush confederations as quickly as possible as Reikland without it affecting imperial authority too badly.
As soon as you've secured Reikland you should be prioritising getting rid of Khazrak and Festus by the way. Very important you don't let Festus snowball.
@@anthroposmetron4475 one of my favorite campaigns I’ve ever done was a campaign as a minor Khorne faction through a mod and Mixus unlocker where sigvald and valkia always declared war immediately. The added challenge was fun there, with survival not guaranteed. That being said, the AI empire needs some help lol

I'm almost getting tired of finding out things you can do in this game from people casually doing them in youtube videos. Real question is, does the game tell you somewhere that you can move the reinforcement location in exchange for delaying it and I don't pay attention or is it another thing the game just never tells you?
