End of that race it's a draw and the overall round is won by one point.
I mean, how often would you expect that to happen? In reality, being in first has a much higher risk of dropping positions so you lose way more than 1 point, and the possibility of getting only 1 point extra for a win is minuscule. It’s clearly much better to try to aim for 2nd place every single race and get 10 points every race rather than try to get 11 and end up getting blued and combo’s lap 3. The point distribution should just be changed.
@@ExternusArmy agreed, even if it was 12 for 1st then 10 to 0 from 2nd to 12th then even thatd be an improvement... 1pt is not enough to motivate anyone to stay in first

I really like that whenever the blooper is made to not be a useless item, it's always complained about that it's actually a functional item. Kinda like the couple custom tracks that heck up the blooper.
I think it would be better if it chose a random section of the screen an more or less completely covered that section. For instance, maybe you can only see the left half of the screen
I just wish the Blooper wasn't in the game at all. It's so annoying to have your screen covered.

Anyone notice how, instead of "VS 5th race", it says "Balloon Battle"? I guess that's something to be ironed out later.
I did a bunch of analysis of the vehicles in Troy's first video for Riibalanced. Go check that out if you want; I'm likely not gonna do it again.
I actually think the super strong blooper is actually a good idea, because in the past blooper is such a useless item, every time we pull the blooper we are so pissed, but now the blooper actually does quite a bit of damage, so it makes this item much more useful! Same thing goes for the really early POW as well. In general I think this makes the game even more skill based, which I believe is a good thing. (Which is also why I'm surprised Arc didn't win the GP lol, I thought he would have the most practice on how to play this haha)
But I definitely think the point distribution should go back to the original, I really agree with Troy that it makes the incentive of getting first place much smaller, which I don't think is a good thing. Also maybe consider bringing back the mega thundercloud?
Overall, really amazing work @ArcIntel !!! Can't wait for future updates!!!
An idea for the thundercloud for this mod- it would be cool if it had a chance of being a mega TC, sort of like how smash bros has a chance for the lightning to make you bigger. That way it’s a gamble to use it if you’re in a desperate situation.
More item variants could be cool too like a very rare buffed blue shell or something.

I think the TC suggestion is pretty neat, this way other people have an incentive to take it from you if their willing to risk the coinflip.
Increasing the odds of it being a mega every time it is being passed would be pretty cool too imo

Maybe a normal TC have a 50% of being a mega and Everytime it passes the chances of being a mega increases by 10%

The game's sound in this video seems at a lower volume than normal. Love the vid in everything else, especially the fast green shells :)
Troys playing on dolphin, you can adjust the game volume to a greater extent than on console. 8:25 He definitely has it turned down
Laser greens cancel out the blue shell nerf, and allows for more position switching. In so many tracks, 2nd is relying on someone in the mid pack to pull a blue shell in order for them to take over 1st. This lets it be more in their hands whether they overtake or not.
I still don't like the minimalist item icons. They look so out of place and often make the item hard to identify at a glance. Especially the Starman, it needs to have eyes, minimalism or not, because that's what makes it stand out as the iconic powerup rather than just some generic star symbol.
If you don't like the new UI, you can change it back to the stock look in the MyStuff folder of the mod. Nick did it.

I definitely get why the point distribution is frustrating, but I also get why Arc made it increase by 1 though. It really is more balanced that way, but you're absolutely right, Troy. There really is no incentive to be in first when you only get 1 more point than second.
The fact that many tracks are won through frontrunning can make the bonus points for first feel very unfair; at the risk of a blueshell, you avoid all of the item shenanigans in middle spots, you get to take the best lines uncontested and you get to trap them, all while already in a place that gets the most points.
@@Jkirek_ Yes absolutely. Front running is so broken half the time. If tracks get picked that favor front running the whole GP, one person is going to dominate those races giving no one else a shot at catching up. That's why I definitely get the new point distribution. Everyone is basically on a level playing field points wise. It's a total game balancing mod, so it makes sense.. But I also agree there needs to be some incentive to win to keep a competitive edge.. Whether that's giving first 2 extra points over second or something else.
Maybe first should get 12 and the rest should remain unchanged

As a colorblind Mario Karter, I find the new icons for the red and green shells to be much more easily differentiable!
i absolutely LOVE this mod!!! it keeps everything we love about mkwii but builds onto it, and seeing the vehicle diversity WITH those uncommon vehicles actually keeping up is such a treat! i love how every vehicle can now keep up with one another, with the added bonus of now having to use a different strategy for each one because of their individual pros and cons. this really feels like it could be the future of mkwii and i can’t wait to see where it goes from here !!! ^_^

Probably the closest/most competitive episode from start to finish. I dont think there was ever more than 5 points of separation between the guys.
FINAL SCORE: IT IS A TIE!: Troy: 6 points (+1 pt from Ep. 5); Nick: 6 points | FINAL GP SCORE: Troy: 78 points; Nick: 77 points
Troy make sure to give yourself an extra point from Ep. 5 fiasco for me. I think totaling up yours and Nick's GP score to get 1 big number like I am doing for you will give you a better and accurate scoring to know who won a point for FlounderFest.
I am glad that Mario Kart Riibalanced is only 20% complete, because it gives Arc feedback on what he can improve to make it better for everybody when it goes live publicly. My feedback would be to fix the point distribution so it's the same as vanilla Mario Kart so it's worth it to get 1st place and also if a disconnection happens than the point distribution fixes itself according to however many players are left in the room.
Im pretty sure Troy hates the idea of any other vehicle being better than the Flame Runner or Mach Bike...

I think the best way to balance karts in MKW would be to give them a third mini turbo stage (like the purple in mk8) and make them charge much faster to snake better. At least it would be interesting to see how it goes

But the bad new is your Yoshi cosplay (which you really like [i'm proud of that fact]) is still on the line and i's been on the line for over a month now, so i know you can come from behind and that would be so insane!! and nick's never won 2 seasons in a row and he never will!!
He starts the season well, but seems to struggle finishing it off. He was 3-1 up in this season and the last. This episode has given me great hope. Come on, we want the decider. I think winning this would avenge the painful loss in season 5

@@missangelpirateprincesspea7263 yeah, Troy was just deceiving Nick for last four episodes in season 5 so that he could fool him in season 6! He struggled in the end of season 7, losing 6 of the last 8 events from 3-1 up. 5 points seems to be his unlucky number. Hopefully he can overcome that hurdle in the next episode.
