  • How do you know how likely something is to kill you? Or how do you work out how beneficial something is? Welcome to micromorts and microlives!
Just how dangerous is crossing the road? And what's the real payback on eating healthily and exercising regularly? Neither are easy to get our heads around -- especially when it comes to that ultimate measure of "badness" -- dying. To make things a little easier, "micromorts" and "microlives" can help estimate the risks and benefits of what you do -- and what you don't do.

    Excellent Video!
I was always stuck to comfort zone and could not move a inch towards any thing new!
The result is that , I was paid less, was overweight also!
But, my mother pushed me to
    1) listen to motivation videos
    2) track my issues using "risks" mobile app by lokesh
by this, I am now a far better risk taker and the result is that I am having more energy

So microlives are like a point system?

Now the question is how do you calculate Microlives?
Is drinking 3 cups of coffee a day giving you a microlife because coffee is good for you, or because rich people drink that much coffee and rich people live longer?
You see what I‘m trying to get here… how can we be confident that this calculation is based on causation rather than mere correlation?

But can you say that people drinking 3 cups of coffee because they like the taste get the same amount of microlives as those who drink 3 cups of coffee to get microlives? That question can be applied to any health study which recommends something.

Being a man costs 4 microlives? Totally worth it.
