This is a full, no commentarry speedrun of the new PSVR game, Psychonauts: In the Rhombus of Ruin, written by Tim Schafer. Watch it like you would a movie.
Taking place immediately after the events of the first game, Raz, Sasha, Milla, Lilly and Coach all go on a trip to the mysertious Rhombus of Ruin to save Lilly's dad, the famous Truman Zonato. However, things soon take a turn for the worse...
Taking place in a stationary, first person perspective, you control Raz as he uses his psychic abilities to jump between minds, lift objects and set things on fire. Solve puzzles and save your friends as you take on a unique VR perspective unlike any other before.
If you have a PSVR, why not buy the game for yourself? It's REALLY fun: store.playstation.com/#!/en-u... - Hry
Thank you to everyone who has stopped by to watch this! Here we are years later and I had no idea this video would ever get this popular. Didn't even realize I was one of the few to do a full playthrough of this.
Thank you for your patronage it is much obliged. I have more cinematic no commentary content like this on my channel if you are interested as well as let's plays, music videos and live streams
If you're not interested in any of that and you're just here for this video that's perfectly fine too. I'm glad I was able to help you get caught up on the story before Psychonauts 2 came out. As a fan of the Kingdom Hearts franchise I find being able to stay caught up on everything is important LOL.
Thanks again! 😁
Yup, gonna stay for more content. Keep up the good work, Your videos are great :)
Hey man all your little nods and stuff in the video had me dying, 😂 great video
Thank you. I already preloaded the sequel thanks to Game Pass. I was hoping to see what happened in this one.
@@GSCSTRYDER thank you! I do stuff like that to make it immersive that way it really feels like you are watching this through Raz's eyes rather than mine.
Anytime I do something with no commentary or no FaceCam I try to animate the character I'm playing as realistically. Or even do like cinematic camera pans and stuff.
@@OversoulGaming you have a bit of that deeper understanding of character presentation. As a film student myself, you might want to check out telling stories, your attention to detail is very appreciated!

And in Psychonauts two he was the only person who managed to help everyone when no one else could

I think one of my favorite things about this series is that nearly every villain is really more of a villain of circumstance.
Like there's always something that made them the way they are, and healing that trauma makes them a better person.
It's just really neat.
And then there’s Gristol
Except the caviar guy
@@BroZilla-vh3tu Well, I mean, technically there *was* a cause for that. Unfortunately what he has is very incurable. You'd have to wipe him completely to get a decent person!

It’s funny cause cow joke
Milla saying she has to save the children in the beginning makes me cry...
well yeah, previously she worked in a orphanage and she loved entertaining and talking to the kids, but one time when she left for food the place burned down, one of the more disturbing things in psychonauts.
Of course that’s what she would hallucinate.
She wanted to redeem herself from her greatest failure by trying to make sure history didn’t repeat itself.

@@andrewgreeb916 Yep, I recently got Psychonauts and i'm scared/excited to see the part with Milla
They say the best villains are dark reflections of the heroes they face. Loboto is what Raz could have become if he had never heard of the Psychonauts and his family were even less supportive of his abilities
Oleander is who Raz could’ve become if the Psychonauts rejected him.

I like to headcanon that Raz never told anyone what happened in Loboto's memory vault. The feeling that what happened to Loboto could've happened to him if his parents were more intolerant or had more connections to a hospital like Dadboto did. I recently found this out, there is a reference to Laboto's mental world in the original psychonauts. A kid mentions a nightmare about a bathtub, you get where this is going
The bathtub also appears a couple times in The Brain Tumbler Experiment.
that kid might be Laboto's child?
@@Turnil321 I think it was more that Quentin was sensitive to brainwaves the same way Raz was when he was in the brain tumbler.
Also, from what I hear, Psychonauts had to rush its production at the end (which makes sense, since I feel that the finale was indeed a bit rushed), so I bet the bathtub fight in Loboto's mind was supposed to happen in the original game.
@@Turnil321 He might be. In the Psychonauts 2 post game, there’s a cutscene where Loboto says that he left his kid at camp
anyone want to know that..when loboto says he lost his compass he ment he lost his MORAL compass thats why he feels guilt after raz returns the compass
I took it as in he "lost his north"
Ahh, clever. Still, can you blame him for what his parents did. Well, he is on the right path but has a long way to go
It’s also that he lost the ability to think ahead. The frontal lobe, which was removed, governs that ability. That’s why he blows up the ship- he can’t think ahead. Raz did give him back the ability to move forward, which is why he was able to look back.

I get the feeling there was some script mixups in this game. At another point raz mentions being saved by himself
The fact Lili decided to blow up the bombs to get away from the bombs, I adore her
Flawless 10 year old logic
I kinda like how when you dive into loboto’s mind it’s short and kinda emphisizes that you haven’t completely fixed what happened with him, you got a surface level problem solved because you were only able to hit the surface of his memories.
Yeah, but it still impacts him in quite a way! He does get his moral compass back, just…not his sanity. I mean, the guy does try to blow up an underwater base, so he still isn’t all there.

It's a tragedy that this game wasn't as popular - loving the James-Bond feel that this series has. Even the opening!
It wasn't exactly accessible. something incredible is just how POWERFUL Razputin's Clairvoyance is.
This 10-year-old is able to bounce between minds and still use his powers while doing so without any kind of strain on his part, and when Lili, Truman's own _flesh and blood_ was unable to use the music box to even get a signal, while Raz was able to do it despite a much weaker connection to Truman, his mind crossing god knows how far to reach him, _and_ get through the Psilirium barrier.
