My original run was blocked because I was listening to Pavement while doing it on CZcams, so here's the raw version with game feed only.

I think the funniest part of all of this is that even the game objectives can't keep up with how fast you're going.

How did he do that? I didn't understand that part.
@@mikemiles2241 I think he glitched it so that two levels spawned on top of each other by saving and reloading the game while going through a loading zone.
@@kaleenar963 I can't see that being the case. The way to get that elevator to come down is to get through Crispin... just doesn't make sense to me cus that entire object doesn't come down until you get past him.
@@chungusamongus519 saving and loading during a load can have weird effects on the given map, including changing some flags n triggers to change some properties. It’s also how I bypass the cobwebs at the end of the game
@@chungusamongus519 LSD - Load Save Displacement. It's not about levels spawning, but just skipping a part of the game.

everytime i beat a game i look at the world record speedrun of it.
nothing like seeing someone do what took me 3 days in 30 minutes.

Ikr it's insane sometimes. I'm still amazed how someone beat Dark Souls 2 in like 14 minutes.
I tried to see how quickly I could get rank 101 and it took me about 9 hours. I thought I did at least decent, but then I looked up a speedrun for rank 101 and someone did it in only 2 hours.
I guarantee it took a lot more than 3 days of practice to get to this speed. If you put as much time in the game as he did, I bet your time would be comparable

Yeah it was intentional. This guy clearly made the Psychonauts 2 logo the thumbnail to subconsciously make people think it was 2.

You can cancel it after the momentum by jumping. It's beautiful tech.

I might use this to get back to the asylum atleast. I only needed 1 more gold helmet for the platinum but turns out it was the one for the dog painting the bull so I gotta start the game over

@@plebulus because once you beat the level the bull despawns and the dog you need to paint the poster is playing poker with Edgar. I did manage to get the platinum a few days ago and I just beat Psychonauts 2 yesterday

desperately need an explanation of how skipping gloria's theater and heading straight to the courtyard takes you to the front of thorney towers with a working front elevator. (mostly the gloria's theater part. that level is fucking hell)

Collecting all the fictions in the world of Waterloo is even more difficult
In the 30 hours I spent 100%ing this game, not once did I think "Oh yea 3 levels can surely be skipped for a speedrun"

It's LSD (Load-Save displacement) I don't know the specifics on how it works, but if you save in a loading zone and then reload that save the map changes some properties including having that elevator be active

Saving in loading zones and loading the file breaks the maps. By saving in the right spots and loading the game you flag events needed to progress.

do you think sub-30 will be possible in the future?
There was some small mistakes in this run, maybe a minute less is possible.
As of right now it seems highly improbable that a sub 30 will be achieved any time soon, the community sum of best is a 29:4x or 5x
I’m sure there’s some strats we don’t know of yet, so some day sub 30 will probably happen but at least currently it’s very unlikely.

Why did you turn on V-sync for the final level?
Frame perfect trick is easier if vsync is on because it caps my fps

How did you skip the 3 mind palaces?
A lot of skips are based on the save bug. By saving in loading zones and loading the file you often displace the map and trigger flags that should not be active.
How is he able to just get into loboto's area without going and tricking Crispin?

Makes the trick I’m trying to do easier. Normally I play the game at 120fps, but by turning Vsync on I’m locking it to 60

How did you skip all the cobweb dusters
The run is a combo of glitches. They bypassed a ton by knowing how to break the game. The simple answer is using tricks to bypass the webs. The longer answer is breaking down the tricks. I know the basics on what was used if you want a basic rundown.

I got this run while listening to the epic indie rock outfit known as Pavement (their album Wowee Zowee to be specific)
